’Leonard...?’

A chill shot down Wei’en’s spine. He let go, flinging "Tina" away.

"Tina" didn’t seem surprised. She flipped gracefully in mid-air, landed steadily on her feet, and tilted her head up to glare at Wei’en with those scarlet eyes. Licking her lips, she said in a deadpan voice, "Tina... ouchie~"

"Shut up, Mr. Leonard!"

Wei’en’s expression was grim. "This isn’t funny, and it’s certainly not a pleasant way to say hello."

’Fuck, how did this clown manage to possess the white-haired girl? In this theater space, shouldn’t he be able to just use his own body?’

"Tina... Mr. Wizard, you’re so cruel. How could you just toss me aside~? Hee hee hee ha ha ha..."

Tina—no, Leonard—only got halfway through the sentence before he burst out laughing. He clapped a hand to his face, laughing maniacally in the white-haired girl’s voice.

"She is..."

Standing by the dining table, Pavla looked at the two in confusion. "She... what’s wrong with her?" she asked.

"Hmm?"

Leonard stopped laughing. He straightened up, and his head swiveled a full 180 degrees to face Pavla. A hint of suspicion flashed in his scarlet eyes. The small nose twitched, and his lips split open once more into that horrifying grin. "Ooh," he sneered, "I smell the stench of Orpheus’s hypocrisy on you."

"Orph... Are you blaspheming the great Dawn?"

Pavla froze, her eyes widening as she stared at the white-haired girl. ’That grin... it’s terrifying. And her neck...’

"The great Dawn? Oh, he’s great, alright. After all, no one was chanting the name ’Dawn’ before him. It’s like... he just jumped onto the stage of this very theater without warning, interrupting someone else’s performance when his act was never even announced. It’s just so... disgusting!"

Pavla was left speechless.

’The Lord of Dawn... a performance? How can those two things even be compared?’

She clenched her fists, glaring resentfully at the short, utterly obnoxious "Tina."

If Wei’en hadn’t forbidden her from harming anyone here, she would have already unleashed the Power of Faith of the great Dawn!

"Tina" was unfazed by Pavla’s glare. Muttering "idiot," she turned away, not deigning to look at her again. Her eyes swept the room before settling back on Wei’en, her brow deeply furrowed.

"Young Wizard, you seem to be treating this place as your personal sanctuary, don’t you?"

Wei’en looked "Tina" up and down. He had a feeling Leonard wasn’t in a very good mood today.

"Mr. Leonard, I’ve only opened up a new space here..."

"Am I to understand that you’ve made a complete mess of this thousand-year-old theater?! Huh?!" Leonard practically shrieked. "Look at this place! A few shabby doors, terrible quality wood, the handles are even rusty! Are you adding garbage to this theater?"

"And the stage... there’s a dining table on it! A dining table! Did you turn this stage into a filthy kitchen? Or have you demoted yourself to a chef’s lackey?"

"Damn it, and the audience! Do you have any idea how valuable those seats are? Do you have any idea what kind of people used to sit there to watch the performances on this stage, huh?!"

Wei’en was silent.

’Is he serious?’

’Did he really come all this way just to accuse me of ruining the theater and desecrating its sacred stage?’

"So, Mr. Leonard, what exactly were your intentions when you gave me that key?"

"...’Gave’?" "Tina" took a few steps forward, stopping right in front of him. Tilting her head back, she enunciated each word, "It was so you would find Lilith for me!"

"Then I can assume this is a transaction?" Wei’en said calmly, looking directly into those scarlet eyes. "My using this place and modifying it to better suit my requirements should be within the reasonable bounds of our agreement."

Leonard faltered, then began to stomp his feet in a frustrated rage. "Damn it! I knew I shouldn’t have entrusted this place to you! Never give it to someone with no appreciation for art! You goddamn bastard, I’ll...!"

"In that case, am I also free to not fulfill my promise to find Lilith?" Wei’en said airily, crossing his arms over his chest.

The words struck a fatal blow.

Leonard panted, glaring daggers at him. After a few seconds, his lips curled into a grin again. "Hee hee hee... Compared to Lilith, a theater is nothing. Of course, it’s no probleeeeem...!"

Before the word was even fully out of his mouth, he suddenly jabbed a finger onto Wei’en’s forehead.

"You—" Wei’en’s expression changed, but before he could finish, he vanished from the theater.

Leonard muttered, "No problem my ass. I’m going to teach him a proper lesson today!"

He whirled his head to glare at Pavla and said viciously, "Take good care of her. If you don’t, you’re dead, you favorite of the Authority of Hypocrisy!"

With that, the scarlet faded from Tina’s eyes. She fell backward, landing flat on the stage with her hands folded over her stomach, looking as if she were sound asleep.

Pavla was speechless.

’What in the world is going on?’

’And "favorite of the Authority of Hypocrisy"... How vile. It’s disgusting!’

She glanced at Tina lying on the floor, then hurried over and cradled her in her arms. Looking down at the girl’s peaceful, sleeping face, she murmured, "So... was someone possessing her and saying all those things?"

Meanwhile, Wei’en’s vision went black. The next thing he knew, he was once again standing outside the small wooden cabin.

He was surrounded by darkness and an utter lack of sound, as if he and the cabin beside him were the only things left in the world.

Wei’en glanced around before pushing open the cabin door. Inside, the faint flame of a candle in a wall sconce swayed gently, as if to welcome him.

"That clown," Wei’en muttered. "What the hell is he up to now?"
