Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters
Chapter 464 - 195: Oh? You’re Awake.
THUMP, THUMP.
’Two sounds?’
Wei’en’s ears twitched. He was a little surprised. He had clearly only exchanged for one scroll of notes. ’Did someone else send him something?’
CLICK.
"More mail?"
Wei’en looked at the contents of the box and realized his judgment was off. It wasn’t two items, but three: a ring, a letter, and a roll of parchment.
He took the items out, opened the letter, which had no writing on its cover, and began to read.
"Esteemed Wizard Wei’en Loft: Your potential has been rated as: High-tier Great Mage (Hand of the Kingdom)."
"In accordance with the regulations of the Ghost Soul School’s Wizard Management Office, a corresponding reward is hereby issued. We hope that your strength will continue to grow and that you will make even greater contributions to the School."
"The reward is granted annually and will be delivered to you on this day each year."
"Furthermore, the Wizard Management Office will update this rating, increasing or decreasing the rewards accordingly."
"On the path of pursuing knowledge, death is not the end. —Sheldon Foskett, Ghost Soul School Wizard Management Office."
’A potential rating? Rewards?’
’Does this mean the Ghost Soul School thinks I have the potential to advance to the level of a high-tier Great Mage?’
He had just learned from Director Amidich that the Ghost Soul School had limited resources, and now he was immediately receiving a reward...
’It seems killing the Judgment Knight gave the School a clearer understanding of my strength, leading them to raise my potential rating.’
"Well, thoughtful as always."
Wei’en recalled that he hadn’t received any rewards from the Ghost Soul School for his last two advancements.
The last reward he got was when he joined the Feng Enliso Research Center, and it was just a piece of clothing, an identification card, and a staff made of dragon bone.
’Is it that there are no rewards for advancing from a Junior Mage all the way to an Advanced Mage, or has the Ghost Soul School stopped monitoring anyone at the Wizard level and above?’
’I hope it’s the latter. That would be a bit of a relief.’
With this in mind, Wei’en examined the Space Ring, which was fashioned entirely from polished white bone. A crystal-like Gemstone was embedded in the top, and he could see tiny channels within it.
It reminded him of the raw stone he’d unexpectedly obtained while scouting the Deep Sea. That must have been a material for crafting spatial equipment.
He used his Spiritual Power to inspect the rewards stored inside the Space Ring. "Huh? This much?"
It was far more than he’d expected!
The space inside was a full ten cubic meters, piled high with all sorts of items.
Most of them were Undead Creatures—over thirty in total, including skeletons, zombies, and Undead Knights, all of which were relatively common types.
The rest included a magnificent Wizard Robe, a Magic Staff of entwined white bone topped with a black Gemstone, a few potions, and two rolls of parchment.
Wei’en took out the parchment scrolls to have a look. One was a list of the rewards, and the other was an Era Relic.
"Poison of Chaos... a Magic Potion formula?"
The Gonzalez script on the relic was simple enough for him, and he easily read its contents.
The Potion of Chaos Poison was a plague toxin invented by the Ghost Soul School during the Fourth Era. Its effect was to make intelligent creatures lose their judgment and attack all targets around them.
Although it was very similar to the Charm Spell cast by a phantom clone, as a type of plague toxin, the Poison of Chaos could be spread through blood and air, making its consequences far more terrifying than a Charm Spell.
The scroll also recorded the formula for the antidote.
’It’s fairly practical, but the required materials are a hassle. It actually needs the Power of the Origin of Desire?’
Wei’en thought of the Favored One from the Desire Sect he had encountered in Caster. He couldn’t help but feel that the Ghost Soul School creating this plague toxin wasn’t exactly a friendly gesture toward the Desire Sect.
Thinking this, he rolled up the relic and stored it in his Space Ring.
"The Ghost Soul School is surprisingly generous."
Setting aside the formula for the Poison of Chaos, the Undead Creatures were all Director Level. Thirty of them were worth at least fifty thousand gold pounds.
The Wizard Robe and Magic Staff were also fine-quality equipment.
The Wizard Robe was inscribed with a Rune Array that could conjure an ice wall capable of blocking a Regent-level attack.
The Magic Staff had a level-five Weakness Curse Spell permanently embedded in it, which could lower an enemy’s resilience level.
All very practical pieces of equipment.
As for the few bottles that looked like Magic Potions, they were actually Power of Origin for him to absorb. He could devour them directly using Soul-Devouring Magic.
Seeing this, Wei’en took out the five bottles of Power of Origin and tossed them out. "Ghost."
"Adagua!"
Four heads opened their massive maws, each finding a target and devouring it completely.
[You have used Soul-Devouring Magic to devour Pure Origin. Your Origin has been enhanced. Evaluation: Tastes like chicken? Special Reward: Origin +10.]
’Pure Origin?’
The ten-point increase to his Origin didn’t feel like much to Wei’en. He was more curious about how this Pure Origin was created.
If he could obtain more Pure Origin, combined with his Spiritual Conversion talent, his power would increase at an exaggerated rate.
Next, Wei’en put on the robe and looked at himself in the mirror.
The black robe was inscribed with intricate, orange-red patterns. The collar was cut low, just enough to reveal the red shirt he wore underneath and the gold pocket watch hanging from his neck.
"Not bad."
Wei’en then took out the Magic Staff and gave it a few swings, remarking with a grimace, "It feels too light."
Given his current resilience level, he wasn’t used to such a lightweight weapon.
If it weren’t for the Weakness Curse Spell embedded in the Magic Staff, he would have tossed it into his Space Ring to collect dust as a collector’s item.
