Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 242 - 244: The Gods Who Love Infighting
Chapter 242: Chapter 244: The Gods Who Love Infighting
WHOOSH! With an Earth Element Crystal in his mouth, Andre continuously absorbed the Earth Element within, converting it into Chaos Magic Power.
He was now sitting inside the Morning Sky, having also brought the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant aboard.
After boarding the Morning Sky, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant had to shrink itself just to be able to move around.
"Your race is the Bosha Giant Elephant. That race wasn’t born in this world, was it?"
Andre bit the Earth Element Crystal into several pieces and swallowed them, then turned to the wide-eyed Eight-toothed Giant Elephant and asked his question.
"My ancestors came from the Outer World!" The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant shivered as it watched Andre swallow the Earth Element Crystal as if it were rock candy. It looked at Andre and replied.
"The Outer World, you say." Andre nodded, then directly opened his Secret Realm.
"Come with me," Andre said to the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant, popping another Earth Element Crystal into his mouth.
Seeing Andre’s casual display, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant hesitated for a moment before deciding to follow.
Soon, the man and the beast arrived inside the Secret Realm.
"Did your ancestors follow him here?"
Andre led the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant directly before the Divine Remains.
Upon seeing the Divine Remains, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant immediately knelt.
It pressed its head to the ground, its gaze fixed on the Divine Remains, its eyes filled with adoration.
"That’s right. My ancestors followed the Holy Spirit to this world."
’A Holy Spirit?’ The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant’s words gave Andre pause.
As far as he knew, the title of Holy Spirit was not one used lightly within the Pantheon World Group.
To earn the epithet "Holy," a Divine Spirit must have possessed Power at least on par with a Moonlight Great Mage while alive.
Furthermore, the Divine Spirit must have also performed many deeds that benefited the Pantheon World Group.
Only then could the word "Holy" be part of that Divine Spirit’s title.
This was because the word "Holy" was held in the highest esteem within the Pantheon World Group.
’A Holy Spirit!’ Andre’s expression was complex as he stared at the Divine Remains.
But by now, the last remnants of consciousness within the Divine Remains had faded. He had no way to awaken this long-dead Divine Spirit.
"Since your ancestors and this Divine Spirit came from the same place, tell me where they were from."
Andre looked at the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant before him, recalling a species worshipped in the religion of a certain country from his past life.
And that species just so happened to be the elephant.
Coupled with the appearance of the Divine Spirit before him, it was hard for Andre not to connect this deity to his previous life.
"The memories in my Bloodline state that our clan comes from the Pantheon World Group, from the Ninth Branch World Group, the Seventh World."
The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant’s words made Andre’s eyes narrow. He hadn’t expected its ancestors to hail from the Ninth Branch World Group within the Pantheon World Group.
The Ninth Branch World Group was ranked ninth in strength among the many branch world groups of the Pantheon World Group.
Any power that could rank in the top ten among the numerous factions of the Pantheon World Group was terrifyingly strong.
They were places where talent was abundant and powerful beings roamed freely.
The reason the top-ten powers were so terrifying had to do with a unique situation within the Pantheon World Group.
As everyone knew, the Pantheon World Group was a top-tier power established with Deities at its core.
And because it was centered around Deities, it was a power rife with internal strife.
The cause of this internal strife was the very source of the Deities’ Power: their Believers.
Deities needed Believers to worship them, provide them with Power, and allow them to grow stronger.
When it came to the foundation of their very existence, more was naturally better.
Therefore, to acquire more Believers, the various Deities within the Pantheon World Group constantly fought amongst themselves, vying for followers.
Although the Pantheon World Group had launched their own expeditionary campaigns, known as the Divine Crusades, after clashing with the Wizard Civilization, their internal strife did not cease. In fact, it grew even more intense.
Some weaker Deities, through luck in the Divine Crusades, gained Believers from several worlds, allowing their Power to skyrocket overnight.
Once their Power had grown, these Deities from weaker worlds would retaliate against their former rivals.
Of course, their rivals wouldn’t just sit back and await their doom. They too would join the Divine Crusades to gain new Believers and increase their own Power.
Through this process, the internal strife among the factions of the Pantheon World Group became increasingly severe, to the point where several weaker factions would band together to wage war against more powerful ones.
Initially, these joint operations were unsuccessful. But as more and more lucky upstarts appeared, this scenario started to become a reality.
And after the first successful example, a second and third followed. Soon, the World of Gods descended into a chaotic mess.
As a result, the power rankings within the Pantheon World Group were in a constant state of flux.
And as the powerful Origin Deities watched the World of Gods fall into chaos, they did not intervene. On the contrary, they were pleased to see it.
This was because only the strongest Deities were worthy of their attention, to be used as their pawns in wars against other powers.
To maintain a stable ranking amidst such high-intensity internal conflict was a testament to the might of the Ninth Branch World Group.
If one had to name a rival to the Ninth Branch World Group from within the Wizard Civilization, only the Wizard Towers in the Wizard Ancestral Land, presided over by Truth Great Wizards, could contend with them.
’But why would a Divine Spirit with such an illustrious background die in this world?’
Andre was deeply puzzled. As a member of the Ninth Branch World Group, this Divine Spirit should have had numerous life-saving treasures.
Yet, there were no injuries on the body, which indicated that this Divine Spirit had died willingly.
’What could possibly make such a powerful Divine Spirit choose to die?’
Andre looked at the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant and questioned it repeatedly, hoping to find the answer within its Bloodline memories.
The Eight-toothed Giant Elephant’s ancestors had come to this world with the Divine Spirit.
This implied its ancestor was likely the Divine Spirit’s servant, Battle Pet, or mount.
Therefore, the answer should exist somewhere within the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant’s Bloodline memories.
But no matter how he asked, the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant just kept shaking its head.
This made Andre suspicious, wondering if the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant was simply unwilling to tell him.
But he had signed a Master-Servant Contract with the creature; the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant had no reason to deceive him.
Andre could only try a different line of questioning.
"Do you know how your ancestors came to this world?"
Andre continued to question the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant, but it just looked at him and shook its head.
