Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 216: The Power of the Potion
Chapter 216: Chapter 216: The Power of the Potion
The storm towered from the heavens to the earth, grinding everything it touched to dust.
Even a creature as mighty as the two-headed giant python could not resist the power of the Gale Gate.
"Such immense power!" Karina was frozen in place, staring at the scene before her. She gazed in disbelief at the Gale Gate in Andre’s hand.
’Is this the trump card Andre’s elders gave him?’
Karina hadn’t even considered that the Gale Gate might be a Divine Power Tool.
Instead, she assumed it was a life-saving trump card given to him by his elders.
At this moment, Andre wasn’t faring well either. He had poured every last bit of Divine Power in his body into the Gale Gate.
Although he had successfully unleashed power equivalent to a Level 3 Witchcraft from the Gale Gate...
...the price was complete and utter exhaustion. His body felt totally empty.
He had completely used up his Divine Power. To use it again, he would have to wait for his Bloodline to convert Chaos Magic Power back into Divine Power.
And that process would take a considerable amount of time.
CRASH! CRASH! The storm slammed into the stone walls of the Tomb of the Giant Elephant and shattered instantly, transforming into an overwhelming barrage of Wind Blades that spread in every direction.
"Move!" Andre shouted to Karina, then immediately flew upward.
After his earlier bombardment with Witchcraft Scrolls, the giant snakes that had been clinging to the ceiling had all fallen into the bloody mud on the ground.
Therefore, the area above was relatively safe.
After hearing Andre, Karina immediately followed him upward. Soon, the Wind Blades flew past beneath their feet, slicing everything they touched into fragments.
Andre and Karina could fly upward and had a place to evade the Wind Blades.
The giant snakes below, however, were not so lucky.
Whether they were just emerging from the bloody mud or clinging to the rock walls, all were sliced to pieces by the Wind Blades. In the end, only a few giant snakes managed to survive the calamity by diving deep into the bloody mud; none of the others were spared.
"Are you holding up?" Andre asked Karina, panting heavily.
"What happened to you?" Karina asked, her eyes flashing with astonishment as she saw Andre’s deathly pale face.
"Using power that transcends one’s Realm comes at a price."
After saying this, Andre retracted the Gale Gate and hung it around his neck once more.
"So you’ve been wearing that around your neck this whole time?" Watching Andre’s movements, Karina finally remembered where she had seen the Gale Gate before.
"A life-saving item should naturally be kept where it’s easiest to reach!"
"Can you handle the few giant snakes that are left?"
Andre asked, panting, as he took out two potions from his Storage Ring and chugged them down.
They were potions for enhancing his Bloodline.
Now that his Divine Power was completely depleted, his only options for recovery were to wait for his Bloodline to convert Chaos Magic Power, or to rely on the Divine Power generated by the process of enhancing his Bloodline.
"You mean them?" In response to Andre’s question, Karina cautiously assessed the surviving giant snakes in the bloody mud.
When she saw that the giant snakes only had the strength of Level 1 Wizards, Karina was about to agree.
But when she saw two of the two-headed giant pythons emerge from the bloody mud, she immediately had second thoughts.
"Alright, then. Cover your mouth and nose."
Andre had clearly seen the change in her expression by the phosphorescent light, so he spoke.
Hearing Andre’s words, Karina instantly had a bad feeling and began to rummage through her Storage Ring.
But no matter how she searched her Storage Ring, she couldn’t find anything to cover her mouth and nose.
"How can you be so unprepared?"
"We’re in an Otherworld. You need to anticipate every possible scenario and prepare accordingly."
Andre watched her frantic searching and sighed helplessly. He then took two masks out of his Storage Ring and gave one to Karina.
Once Karina had put on her mask, Andre carefully took out two more potions from his Storage Ring.
Next, Andre put away his Splitting Heavy Sword and mixed the two potions together.
As the potions merged, Andre watched through his Eye of Truth, waiting until he could confirm they had fused completely.
Then, Andre poured the completely fused potion from the air down toward the ground.
With a faint SPLASH, the potion seeped into the bloody mud.
"What kind of potion was that you just poured?"
Karina asked Andre, looking at the ground, which showed no reaction.
"Just wait a moment and you’ll see."
As soon as Andre finished speaking, the ground began to change.
A spot of Black Water appeared on the ground, which had previously been just a mire of blood from the giant snakes. The Black Water then began to spread outward at an incredible speed.
Anything it touched was corroded, becoming part of the Black Water itself.
Soon, the Black Water reached the two surviving two-headed giant pythons.
Under the potion’s effect, the two giant pythons dissolved into more Black Water.
Once the two giant pythons had melted, the volume of Black Water swelled dramatically. The other giant snakes in the bloody mud were also affected, and the speed at which the Black Water corroded them increased exponentially.
In the end, the entire floor of the Tomb of the Giant Elephant was transformed into a pool of Black Water before Andre and Karina’s very eyes.
Even the corpse of the Giant Elephant, which the giant snakes had previously scorned for its lack of power, was dissolved by the Black Water, leaving not a single trace behind.
"What kind of potion is this? It’s so powerful," Karina said, her eyes filled with deep apprehension as she stared at the sea of Black Water.
"It’s a Blood Fusion Potion, a special kind of poison."
"To use it, you need a large amount of blood as a catalyst. And right now, we just so happen to have plenty of blood to serve that purpose."
"Even I don’t have many potions like this," Andre said, looking toward the surrounding rock walls.
Many fragments of the giant snakes’ corpses were now gradually falling from the walls onto the ground below.
The corpse fragments were stuck to the walls entirely thanks to the Wind Blades.
The first wave of Wind Blades had sliced the snakes to pieces, and the chaotic storm that followed had plastered those pieces against the walls.
"A potion that terrifying actually exists?" Karina exclaimed, hurriedly putting some distance between herself and Andre.
"If I wanted to poison you, what good would moving away from me now do?"
Andre rolled his eyes. He then stood quietly in place, listening to the fragments on the walls constantly falling into the Black Water, causing its surface area to grow ever larger.
Finally, the entire Tomb of the Giant Elephant began to shake.
