Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Changes

To him, and to his family, Ancestor Hoder was their greatest pillar of support—bar none.

"It’s nothing to worry about. The Cyan Spirit Tree has run into a small problem. A thousand years have passed, and it is now preparing to birth a new offspring."

Hoder said from the other side of the Teleportation Array.

Upon hearing this, a look of understanding dawned on Farrete’s face.

Ever since Hoder had asked him to collect large quantities of Earth Element Crystals, he had suspected this matter was related to the Cyan Spirit Tree.

He just never imagined the truth was that the Cyan Spirit Tree was preparing to birth a new offspring.

This was a grand occasion for the Elf Race.

"Farrete, during this upcoming joint expedition of the major Wizard Academies, I hope you can break through your current predicament and become a Morning Star."

"Only by becoming a Morning Star will you survive!"

After a moment, Hoder urged Farrete with great solemnity.

"Are you talking about the crusade against the Bottomless Abyss?"

Farrete’s heart tightened when he heard Hoder’s words. He naturally knew why his ancestor was telling him this.

"Recently, the power of the Bottomless Abyss has grown considerably. Several of the major races are preparing to join forces and strike at them again, to prevent another invasion from the Abyss like the one before."

"If those Demons from the Bottomless Abyss are allowed to scatter, it will be a monumental disaster for the entire Star Realm."

As Hoder spoke, his tone was laced with deep sorrow.

"I will, as soon as possible," Farrete nodded, his expression grave.

"Good. If you’re short on anything, just ask me. It’s time our clan had some new blood."

As Hoder finished speaking, the Teleportation Array flashed with white light, and a number of specialty products from the Elf Race appeared.

These items were of considerable benefit for a Level 3 Wizard breaking through to become a Morning Star Great Wizard.

Then, Hoder closed the Teleportation Array.

Farrete put the specialty items away and stared at the Teleportation Array before him with a heavy expression.

If any outsider were to see this Teleportation Array, their jaw would surely drop.

This was because it was actually a Constant Teleportation Array, capable of not only transporting items but also enabling cross-realm communication.

The cost to construct such a Constant Teleportation Array was by no means small.

’The expedition, the crusade against the Abyss... time is a bit tight!’

Farrete muttered, covering the Teleportation Array with a blanket. The once-clear fluctuations of Magic Power vanished in an instant.

’It’s about time. My teacher also completed his breakthrough around this time!’

Farrete walked out of the basement and began writing a list of items needed for the breakthrough to Morning Star Great Wizard. The list quickly filled two pages.

「Meanwhile, in the White Sea Wizard World.」 Farrete and Andre’s teacher stood before a middle-aged man.

"Teacher!" Krell called out to the man.

"Aren’t you going to break through yet?" The man, Lorne, who had a dignified air about him, looked at his youngest disciple and helplessly rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"So many years have passed. I’ve already become a Moonlight Mage, yet you’re still a Level 3 Wizard. Every time someone mentions you to me, they always..."

Lorne trailed off, rubbing the bridge of his nose in exasperation.

"Teacher, it’s best to let these things happen naturally."

Krell’s expression remained perfectly calm in the face of Lorne’s impatience.

"You’re not in a hurry, but I am, alright? The path you walk may be powerful, but there have to be limits. You can’t just wait for everything to happen naturally."

Lorne looked at Krell and sat down, defeated.

The path Krell walked was called the Path of Nature, which pursued a state where everything—breakthroughs, cultivation, Witchcraft, and so on—occurred as if it were natural.

Thanks to this path’s philosophy, Krell’s physical condition, Magic Power reserves, Soul, and Spiritual Power were all superior to those of many other Wizards.

"Forget it. I can’t be the one to worry for you. I heard you took on another disciple?"

Lorne sighed in resignation as he looked at Krell, bringing up Andre.

"Yes. He’s a bit mischievous," Krell nodded, surprised.

"Mischievous? How could a disciple of Radak be mischievous?!"

Lorne rolled his eyes and sighed helplessly at Krell.

"He came to me with a complaint! Said that you, the dignified vice-dean of a branch institute, tried to snatch away someone he was about to take as his own disciple."

Lorne looked at Krell, his face filled with exasperation.

Hearing this, Krell shook his head.

"I never told Radak to take Andre as a disciple. I sent Andre to him to have him build a foundation for the boy."

"Build a foundation?" Lorne was perplexed by Krell’s words.

"He’s rather special. He awakened the Talent Witchcraft, Eye of Truth."

"Eye of Truth... now that’s a rare one."

Lorne stroked his chin upon hearing this.

"The expedition is about to begin. During the expedition, we will inevitably encounter some strange races. That’s when Andre will have a role to play."

"I handed Andre over to Radak so Radak could teach him how to develop his Eye of Truth. But who would have thought that the moment Radak saw Andre, he would take him as a disciple?"

"Teacher, you can’t blame me for this."

Krell casually deflected all responsibility.

"Is that so?" Lorne looked at Krell, an inscrutable expression on his face.

As Krell’s teacher, he knew his disciple’s mind very well.

"Then why did his complaint also mention that your clansmen tried to steal something from him?"

Lorne’s expression shifted, and his eyes locked onto Krell.

"What?" Krell blinked.

"Don’t tell me you don’t know!"

"Teacher, I really don’t know. Not long after he entered the academy, I came here to the Main Institute via a Teleportation Array. I truly don’t know what happened afterward."

Krell spread his hands and explained earnestly to Lorne.

Seeing that Krell didn’t seem to be faking it, Lorne sighed in resignation.

"We’ll assume you didn’t know. But see that this sort of thing doesn’t happen to Andre again. In a while, Radak’s teacher will be attempting to break through to Level 6, the Realm of a Red Sun Great Wizard."

"If he succeeds, you know how much the academy’s strength will increase!"

Lorne didn’t press the matter further, instead changing the subject to Radak’s teacher.

"So soon!" A look of surprise finally appeared on Krell’s face.

"Yes. He got lucky. During a long journey in the past, he accidentally captured an embryonic world that had just been born."

"He brought that world back. Using it as the price gives him a forty percent chance of breaking through to Red Sun Great Wizard. With the other items he’s collected, he has a fifty-percent chance of success this time."

Lorne’s teeth itched with envy as he spoke of Radak’s teacher.
