Chapter 102: Chapter 102: A Timely Pillow

"Senior Brother, did you rob the academy’s treasury?"

Andre’s eyes went wide as he pointed at the items Farrete had produced.

"Can’t I have my own fortune!?"

Hearing Andre’s words, Farrete’s face showed a hint of exasperation.

"Your fortune? *This* much?"

Andre picked at the corner of his eye, flicking away whatever he found, and eyed Farrete with suspicion.

"Fire Element Crystals, Water Element Crystals, Wind Element Crystals... and they’re this big? If these are really yours, do you think our master would believe it? Would anyone?"

Andre rolled his neck, his gaze fixed on the Elemental Crystals on the table.

Each of the three crystals was the size of a human head.

Andre looked at Farrete with a teasing glint in his eye.

For someone like Farrete, getting his hands on even *one* of these three Elemental Crystals would mean he’d hit the jackpot.

"Enough. I don’t have time to joke around with you right now."

Farrete looked at Andre, feeling utterly exasperated.

"Fine, Senior Brother. Don’t tell me you want to trade these three Elemental Crystals for the Earth Element Crystal I have!"

Andre’s expression grew serious as he pointed at the Elemental Crystals Farrete had produced.

"Yes. These Elemental Crystals for your Earth Element Crystal. Are you trading or not?"

After he spoke, the corner of Farrete’s mouth twitched, and a pained look crossed his face, as if he was giving up something precious.

"Trade for my Earth Element Crystal? What do you need it for?"

Andre scratched his head, looking at Farrete in confusion.

’A few months ago, he traded for a good number of my Earth Element Crystals. Now he’s offering three different kinds to get more? What’s he up to?’

"So, are you trading or not?" Farrete said, exasperated. He could never stay mad at Andre.

"A trade? Of course, I’ll trade!" Andre nodded.

Farrete coming to trade for Elemental Crystals was exactly what he needed, right when he needed it.

’He had just decided to walk the path of a Chaos Wizard, and now Farrete was handing him the three other major Elemental Crystals he was missing. Why on earth wouldn’t he make this trade?’

Andre took out a corresponding amount of Earth Element Crystals from his Storage Ring and handed them to Farrete. In return, he took the three other types of crystals.

"Senior Brother, if I recall, you’re on the path of a Thunder Element Mage, a very pure one at that. Why the sudden need for Earth Element Crystals?"

Andre asked, his curiosity piqued.

Farrete sighed, exasperated, and gave Andre a dismissive wave.

Andre understood at once. He nodded and didn’t press the issue.

’It seems this has something to do with Farrete’s ancestor.’

’And those three Elemental Crystals must have come from his ancestor, too.’

’As for what kind of trouble Farrete’s ancestor had gotten into, that was none of his business.’

’He wasn’t even an Official Wizard yet. Pondering the problems of a Level 5 Grand Wizard was a bit... presumptuous.’

"Oh, right. You should prepare more Recovery Potions and other healing potions lately!"

Farrete stored the Earth Element Crystals in his Storage Ring and turned to leave. He was just about to step through the doorway when he turned back to Andre.

"So soon?" Andre frowned.

"You think that’s soon? For a Wizard, eight years is barely a nap."

Farrete shot Andre a look before turning and leaving the Wizard Inheritance Hall.

After Farrete left, Andre closed the door. He took out the Elemental Crystals he had just received in the trade and inspected them carefully, making sure there was nothing wrong with them.

Andre set the Elemental Crystals on the table, his expression shifting.

’He had just decided to pursue the path of the Chaos Wizard, and the very things he was missing—these three types of Elemental Crystals—were now sitting right in front of him. And Farrete had delivered them to him at this exact moment.’

’Even though it was supposedly Farrete’s ancestor who wanted the trade, the timing was just too perfect.’

A flicker of suspicion ignited in Andre’s mind, but he quickly shook his head.

’I’m getting paranoid!’

Andre mocked himself internally, but he couldn’t really be blamed.

Ever since he’d been transported to this world and set foot on the path of a Wizard, he had constantly been the target of plots—first from Huo Lin, then Victoria.

After entering the academy, Selena and the others had tried to steal his Divine Blood.

So now, for the very items he needed to be delivered to him right after he’d decided on his path... it was understandable that he’d feel a pang of suspicion.

’Still, what could possibly force the consort of an Elf Queen to trade for Earth Element Crystals from an outsider!’

Andre’s expression was incredibly complex. After all, the Elf Race was renowned throughout the Endless Star Realm for their immense wealth.

Their goods were highly sought-after across the Endless Star Realm.

Furthermore, the yields from their Great Trees brought the Elf Race a staggering fortune every year.

Logically, the Elf Race should have no shortage of something like Earth Element Crystals.

’What is going on? Could something have happened to the Great Trees in the Elven homeland?’

Andre recalled what he had read about the Elf Race.

The Elf Race’s population within the Endless Star Realm wasn’t considered large. They numbered between four hundred and five hundred million and ruled over three medium-sized World Groups.

Within the Elf Race, the most powerful beings were not the several Elf Queens, famous throughout the Endless Star Realm for their beauty, but rather the clan’s Great Trees.

The power of each Great Tree was comparable to that of a Truth Great Wizard. It was because of these trees that the Elf Race was considered a top-tier power in the Endless Star Realm.

However, the Great Trees were bound to their physical locations and could hardly move, which was why the Elf Race rarely made appearances in the Star Realm.

Even when members of the Elf Race were seen in the Star Realm, they were typically from branch clans or were mixed-blood Elves.

’Forget it. This is all too far removed from me right now. No matter how I think about it, it has nothing to do with me!’

Andre scratched his head, stored the Elemental Crystals away, and turned back to preparing his Potions.

「After leaving the Wizard Inheritance Hall, Farrete flew to his villa.」

The moment he stepped inside, Farrete activated the Witchcraft Array he had laid out.

Once he was certain no one could enter undetected, Farrete went down to his basement. He activated a miniature Cross-Dimensional Teleportation Array and sent the Earth Element Crystals he had just acquired from Andre through it.

With a flash of white light, the Earth Element Crystals on the Teleportation Array vanished before Farrete’s eyes.

After a long moment, a voice echoed back from the other side of the Teleportation Array.

"Farrete, you have done well."

The voice from the other side of the array sounded very young.

"Ancestor Hoder, have you run into some kind of trouble with the Elf Race?"

Farrete’s face was etched with deep worry.
