Chapter 121: Chapter 113: The Strongest Gold, All-Type Breathing Technique

Seeing Roy’s gaze land on the blonde woman, Catherine whispered in his ear, "That’s the Fifth Princess, Margery."

’Fifth Princess?’

’She’s the one known as the Rose Knight, the Fifth Princess?’

After Catherine spoke, information about the Fifth Princess, Margery, immediately flashed through Roy’s mind.

Although he had never met Margery before, he had heard of her.

Of William II’s dozen or so daughters, only Margery cultivated the Royal Family’s ancestral Breathing Technique.

Not only that, but her talent was said to be quite good, and there was a high probability she would become one of the few female Great Knights in the Royal Family’s history.

Roy pulled his gaze away from Margery and sat on the sofa across from the Eldest Prince. With a calm expression, he said, "Your Highness, you didn’t come all the way to Rock Lion Castle just to recruit my teacher and me to serve under you, did you?"

"If that is your intention, Your Highness, you can leave now."

"Neither I nor my teacher have any intention of becoming anyone’s subordinate."

"We never have, and we never will."

Although his tone was far from polite, neither the Eldest Prince nor Margery showed any displeasure, as if they had expected him to say exactly that.

As Roy and Catherine watched, the Eldest Prince smiled and said, "I’ll admit, I did once have the idea of recruiting you and the Dark Night Knight to my side."

"However, I gave up that idea after you rejected the offers from the three Dukes."

"Right now, I can’t offer you a more generous reward than they could."

"I came here this time simply to meet you, and to offer a small gift..."

At this, the Eldest Prince paused. He took a parchment envelope from his coat, placed it in front of Roy, and continued.

"I know you have a hobby of collecting Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps. This contains two Perfect Level Bloodline Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps. I hope you’ll like them."

Roy had to admit, the Eldest Prince’s attitude was somewhat unexpected.

He hadn’t had many dealings with the Eldest Prince before, but he had been a member of the vassal army that followed the prince to the Tulip Domain. From that, he knew the Eldest Prince was not a kind, amiable man known for being courteous to his subordinates.

Sizing up the Eldest Prince, Roy picked up the parchment envelope from the coffee table and took out the Inheritance Maps inside.

’This is...?’

A surprised expression appeared on Roy’s face.

He had assumed the Perfect Level Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps from the Eldest Prince had been stolen from other families.

As it turned out, he was wrong.

The Inheritance Maps the Eldest Prince had offered weren’t stolen. They were from the Royal Family’s treasured collection.

The Thunder Beast Breathing Technique and the Golden Deer Breathing Technique.

The Thunder Beast Breathing Technique was the Royal Family’s ancestral Breathing Technique.

The Golden Deer Breathing Technique was the one cultivated by the previous Royal Guardian, the Golden Deer Knight.

’He’s being incredibly generous!’

After a moment of inward reflection, Roy put the two Inheritance Maps back into the envelope, placed it on the coffee table, and said to the Eldest Prince:

"Just say it. What do you really want, Your Highness?"

The Eldest Prince might have called the two Inheritance Maps a gift, but it was painfully obvious he had some other motive.

No one would casually give away the Breathing Technique Inheritance Maps of the Royal Family and a Royal Guardian as a simple introductory gift.

Even if both were Bloodline Breathing Techniques.

"Since you’ve put it that way, Roy, I won’t beat around the bush."

"I want to invite the Dark Night Knight to join me in assassinating the Ironblood Duke. I can’t find him, and I have no confidence I can persuade him, so I want to ask you to be my go-between."

"You’re his only student."

"If anyone can persuade him, it has to be you."

The Eldest Prince replied without a moment’s hesitation.

Roy’s voice sounded as soon as the prince had finished.

"I can act as your go-between, but I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to persuade my teacher."

Roy said slowly, after a moment of thought.

"Your willingness to help is enough."

"Whether you succeed or not, these two Inheritance Maps are yours."

The Eldest Prince looked at Roy calmly and replied swiftly.

"My teacher is a Bounty Hunter. He won’t be interested in taking the job if the reward is too low. What kind of payment is Your Highness prepared to offer?"

Roy continued to ask.

Without any hesitation, the Eldest Prince stated the reward for their cooperation.

After listening to the Eldest Prince’s explanation, Roy’s brow furrowed slightly.

’How should I put this?’

On the surface, the reward the Eldest Prince offered was very generous.

But the problem was that the promised reward wasn’t currently in his possession. It was in the hands of the Ironblood Duke.

An equal share of everything the Iron Blood Dukedom Clan possessed!

That was the reward the Eldest Prince offered for their cooperation.

After a few seconds of silence, Roy said slowly, "I will relay your words to my teacher, Your Highness. But whether he agrees or not is not something I can decide."

The Eldest Prince nodded, indicating he understood.

After exchanging a few more pleasantries and agreeing on a time and place for their next meeting, the Eldest Prince and Margery left Rock Lion Castle, taking the Knights waiting outside the study with them.

Roy and Catherine stood on the bedroom balcony, watching them depart.

"Are you going to work with him?"

Catherine asked softly.

"No!"

"Besides, he doesn’t genuinely want to work with the Dark Night Knight to assassinate the Ironblood Duke."

Roy replied.

"But he seemed so sincere, didn’t he?"

Catherine asked, completely bewildered.
