Chapter 117: Chapter 111: Fighting Five Alone, a Worthy Disciple from a Great Master

Compared to the flame-like Protective Fighting Qi that enveloped the entire body, the defense of Fighting Qi Armor was indeed stronger.

However, Fighting Qi Armor also had its disadvantages compared to Protective Fighting Qi.

Unless one formed a Full Body Armor that completely encased them, Fighting Qi Armor couldn’t provide the same gapless protection as Protective Fighting Qi, leaving some very obvious weak spots.

For example, the throat and the eyes.

Roy dispelled his Protective Fighting Qi and, with a casual wave, instantly severed his opponent’s carotid artery.

Without the barrier of Protective Fighting Qi, blood splattered all over him.

The details determine success or failure!

Since this was supposed to be a desperate, bloody battle for survival, it wouldn’t look right if he wasn’t covered in a bit of blood.

After finishing off the Black Iron Great Knight, Roy once again wreathed his body in a portion of his Fighting Qi and rushed toward Catherine’s position.

Thanks to his superior speed, he successfully caught up to the two Black Iron Great Knights attempting to assassinate Catherine.

Blood Mark!

Upon catching up to the two Black Iron Great Knights, Roy unleashed Blood Mark, a Secret Technique he had never used in battle before.

As he activated Blood Mark, the Silver-White Fighting Qi wreathed around him turned blood-red.

This was a byproduct of using Blood Mark, and it was also the only thing he needed right now.

Although Blood Mark could drastically enhance his physical attributes and Fighting Qi for a short period, he had no need for its amplifying effect.

To that end, he deliberately controlled the technique’s effects, allowing Blood Mark to burn only a tiny amount of his blood.

He only needed to turn his Fighting Qi blood-red, so there was no reason to burn an excessive amount of his blood.

The others, however, had no idea he was deliberately controlling Blood Mark’s effects.

Upon seeing his Silver-White Fighting Qi turn blood-red, the two Black Iron Great Knights, as well as the surrounding Official Knights and soldiers, all had the exact same thought.

’He’s putting his life on the line!’

It had to be said, the color of fresh blood had a unique psychological effect on people.

With his Silver-White Fighting Qi now completely blood-red, Roy gave off the impression that he had played his final trump card and was preparing to fight to the death.

To make his desperate struggle seem more convincing, Roy even deliberately directed his Fighting Qi to surge into his head, causing the veins on his forehead and neck to bulge as he twisted his face into an expression of excruciating pain.

’Now *that’s* what I call dedication to the craft!’

’This is how it’s done!’

Once all his preparations were complete, Roy began the grand finale of his life-or-death battle.

He called it the grand finale, but in truth, it was nothing special. All he did was act like a beast driven by pure instinct as he killed the two Black Iron Great Knights, unleashing primitive and brutal attacks.

The grand finale lasted just over a minute before it was over.

On a patch of grass beside the main building, Roy knelt on one knee, panting heavily. Covered in blood, he had planted his Fine Steel Cross Sword in the ground and was gasping for air.

Beside him lay two corpses, which he had hacked into a mangled, bloody mess.

Although Catherine knew from the start that Roy was only acting, she couldn’t suppress a worried expression when she saw the state he was in. She quickly rushed to his side and helped him to his feet.

"Are you all right?"

Catherine asked at once, her face etched with concern as she looked at Roy.

"What do you think?"

"Help me get out of here, quick. We have to see the act through to the end."

Roy replied in a low voice that only Catherine could hear.

"Okay!"

Without any hesitation, Catherine nodded and supported his staggering form as they headed toward the main building.
