With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 918 Strange creatures

As Lin Fan walked forward, it seemed like the mist was moving out of his way.

That was because he was using the Mist Shaping Technique to move that mist out of his way.

It was quite easy to do, it didn’t even seem like it took any effort for him to move the mist out of his way.

That was because Lin Fan’s control of the Mist Shaping Technique was already at a level that was better than the leader of the Mist Guards. The speed at which he picked up the Mist Shaping Technique had almost made the Mist Guards want to start crying.

It was also because of this that they had no choice but to accept him going into the Weeping Mist Forest alone, which was where he was now.

As Lin Fan walked through the Weeping Mist Forest, he could understand why they said that this was a place that normal people couldn’t enter. He understood why it was important to have the Mist Shaping Technique when entering the Weeping Mist Forest.

Without it, he would have been completely surrounded by the mist and would have lost his way.

Just like when he first arrived in this place.

If it hadn’t been for the road that was there, he might have really gotten lost and would have never found Weeping Mist City.

Perhaps that wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t fly into the area around the Weeping Mist Forest, but he chose to fly on the back of Igneel.

With the Mist Shaping Technique, he was able to easily control the mist in the area around him and create an area where he was able to see everything. With the mist gone, he was able to see the true appearance of this Weeping Mist Forest.

When he saw the true appearance, there was only one thought that passed through Lin Fan’s mind.

Strange.

This place was very strange.

Perhaps it was because they grew inside of the mist, but all of the plants around him had strange appearances.

This was most likely because they had adapted to the low amount of sunlight that they got because the mist blocked the sun.

This place seemed to barely have any traces of green, but that wasn’t strange since they really couldn’t rely on sunlight and photosynthesis to survive. It seemed that the plants here had to develop different ways of getting nutrients.

Based on the roots that stuck out of the ground, it wasn’t hard to guess where those nutrients came from.

Lin Fan could even see some bones that were among the roots that were sticking out of the ground.

These were carnivorous plants.

It would be best not to get too close to their roots if he could avoid them.

Though as he thought this, there were roots that suddenly came out from under the ground.

“You want to eat me? You’re nothing more than plants.” Lin Fan gave a soft snort before black flames appeared at his feet.

The moment that the black flames appeared, the roots suddenly stopped in place. Then after shaking a bit, it seemed like they wanted to dig back into the ground. Find more to read at empire

It was just that the roots didn’t get the chance as the black flames surrounded them.

These black flames didn’t leave a single root behind as it turned all of them into charcoal in an instant. The black colour quickly spread across the surface of the roots and soon they disappeared into ashes.

These roots didn’t last a single second against the power of Lin Fan’s flames, but that wasn’t where it stopped.

Even though the roots ran into the ground, the dirt wasn’t enough to stop the flames. These were special flames after all, these were flames that came from the very bowels of hell, so they were not flames that were easily put out.

The flames traveled right through the ground and continued burning all of the roots that were there.

As they continued through the ground, they eventually made their way above ground again.

“EEK!”

There were shrieks that rang out when the flames appeared above the ground again.

Lin Fan was surprised to hear these shrieks, but he found that the source of the shrieks were even stranger than he thought they would be. He had only seen the roots of these plants, so when he saw the appearance of these plants, he couldn’t help being surprised.

These plants…the way that they were shaped, it was almost as if they had faces. S~eaʀᴄh the NôvelFire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

It was almost as if they were creatures that were made out of plant fiber.

It really didn’t seem to make sense at all how they were alive.

As he watched them scream while they burned, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling a bit unsettled by the appearance of these plants.

Shaking his head, Lin Fan continued forward without thought for those plants.

Especially since they were still screaming as they burned.

It was better to get out of this place as soon as possible since it was certain that these screams would attract some other creatures. When that time came, he didn’t want to be here.

However, it seemed that it was impossible to completely avoid this.

As he headed in the direction marked on the map that the Mist Guards gave him, Lin Fan bumped into some strange looking creatures.

Pale.

That was the only word that he could use to describe them.

It seemed that the lack of sunlight that came from living under the mist had also affected the creatures that lived inside of this Weeping Mist Forest. Because they had a lack of direct exposure to sunlight, their skin had turned pale and their eyes had turned red.

They had turned into albinos.

It really was strange since based on what Lin Fan knew, this kind of lack of exposure shouldn’t be enough to create this kind of albinism in creatures. It would have only been enough to cause them to have pale skin since they wouldn’t produce as much melanin.

It shouldn’t have been enough for them to go this far.

Perhaps it was a kind of natural selection that caused only those that had the genes for albinism to survive?

That was the only explanation that Lin Fan could come up with for these spirit beasts looking like this.

While he was sizing up the strange spirit beasts, the spirit beasts weren’t idle either. They suddenly turned to look at him as well as if they noticed him even though he had the mist protecting him.

Lin Fan had been using his Mist Shaping Technique to create a thin layer of mist that hid him.

His thought when he was attacked by the plants was that they could sense him through the ground where he wasn’t blocking himself with the mist. However, it seemed like this wasn’t the case based on the reaction of these spirit beasts.

It seemed that they had vaguely noticed something at first and he held himself back as he waited to see if they would pass. But they didn’t leave this place, rather it seemed like they had noticed where he was.

They were looking right in his direction, almost as if they could see him.

Lin Fan waited for another bit, but he was disappointed when they suddenly threw attacks in his direction.

It seemed like they were able to sense him in the end.

He didn’t know how these spirit beasts were able to sense him, but it seemed like they were able to figure out where he was.

So the only thing that he could do was…

“Die!” Lin Fan said as he waved his hand.

There were blades of mist that suddenly flew out when he waved his hand like this.

The spirit beasts didn’t seem to react to the blades of mist at first, but then they had looks of shock when they were suddenly cut up by the blades of mist. It was as if they couldn’t believe that the mist would hurt them like this.

These were spirit beasts that had lived in the mist for all this time, so it seemed that they had gotten used to being in the mist.

It almost seemed like they had this strange kind of trust towards the mist around them.

So when they were cut by these blades of mist, it was almost as if they had been betrayed by a close ally.

The spirit beasts that weren’t taken down in a single hit jumped back, but they were still injured by the blades of mist. It didn’t seem like they would be able to fight with the way that blood dripped from their wounds.

It seemed like they would succumb to those wounds at any moment with the way that their wounds looked.

So the only thought that was on their minds was…

“Run!”

The injured spirit beasts turned to run without a single care for what Lin Fan thought.

Only, how could he let them escape?

If he were to let them escape, there was no telling if they would bring more spirit beasts to hunt him.

So Lin Fan waved his hand and they were suddenly surrounded by this barrier of solid mist.

The spirit beasts that ran had shocked looks again when they bumped into this barrier of solid mist. It was almost as if they couldn’t believe that the mist around them could form this solid barrier.

But there was no denying it as it was right there in front of them.

With another wave of his hand, the spirit beasts were put out of their misery.
