With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods
Chapter 1608: Testing it out
After talking like this for a while, Lin Fan and the elder finally calmed down.
The way that the two of them looked at each other was as if they had found a comrade in life.
Though from the way that Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan looked at them, it was almost as if the two of them found them bothersome.
Regardless of how the two of them felt, it was still up to the elder to decide what to do next.
Now that Xiao Mu had obtained the authority over this lab, it was time to see what they could take away from this place. It was time to see if they could actually use any of the things that Lin Fan and the elder had discussed.
Or that would have been the case if not for the elder saying, "It would be bad to do that right now. There’s no telling what would happen if these things were taken out now."
The three of them were confused, but they knew that the elder wouldn’t say something like this without any reason. At this point, there was no point in trying to fool them since they controlled the lab and could do what they wanted.
So it wasn’t as if saying this would have been enough to stop them.
The elder just continued at his own pace as he said, "There’s something that’s covering this lab as well. It’s something that I used to create the seal around this token that prevents my aura from leaking out. However in the case of the lab, it’s used to hide the things that are in the lab."
As a smile appeared on his face, he said, "It would be bad if others were to find out that we had these things, right? It’s only normal that we would do what we could to hide it from the other continents."
Lin Fan’s group slowly nodded in agreement to this, but it wasn’t enough to actually convince them.
If it was just this alone, then it was something that could still be dealt with.
Lin Fan would have his methods to hide these things from the other continents. Especially since he was already doing that with certain things from the magic continent.
If he wanted to add a few things in, it wouldn’t have been that hard for him.
Seeing that Lin Fan’s expression didn’t really change after hearing what he said, the elder added, "It’s troublesome if certain people were to find out about this."
Once he said that, it couldn’t be more obvious who the elder was talking about.
It seemed like Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan were able to accept this quite easily, but that was just because they didn’t care about the things that were stored on this third floor. These things were just novelties for them and not things that they would actually be able to use.
It was different for Lin Fan since he had built a form of attachment to these things.
It was his desire to take them out and use them against his enemies.
After all, there was nothing cooler than taking out one’s enemies with a giant robot that one piloted.
But in the end, he had no choice but to accept it.
Seeing the expression on Lin Fan’s face, the elder looked like he completely understood what he was thinking.
So in the end, the elder said, "It’s not as if we can’t test it out right now."
It almost sounded like he was pitying Lin Fan when he said this, but Lin Fan didn’t mind.
Both Xiao Mu and Ye Qing Huan didn’t feel like they should be wasting this time based on the expression on their faces, but they didn’t say anything in the end since they could see the look on Lin Fan’s face.
So at the very least, they would give him some time to do what he wanted to do.
With the elder leading the way, they quickly made their way back to the room that the two of them cared about the most. With the elder here, it didn’t really matter that the robot was covered in weapons like that.
Though the news that the elder had certainly wasn’t any better.
"We never figured out how to power it up. We were able to use the power supply inside of it at first, but then we were never able to get it running after that. It didn’t matter what kind of power source we tried, none of it worked."
It wasn’t just Lin Fan alone that had a disappointed look on his face, the elder had the same thing.
It was clear that the elder wanted this robot to run just as much as Lin Fan did, so the fact that it couldn’t actually move was something that disappointed him just like Lin Fan.
Only it wasn’t as if there was anything that could be done.
Taking out the notes that they had on the giant robot, the elder showed Lin Fan just what kind of experiments they had run. These notes that the elder possessed were different from the records in the record room.
These were complete research notes that showed every single experiment that they had performed.
This was something that the elder had personally kept inside of the token instead of keeping in the records room. It seemed like the elder had taken this as his personal responsibility to pass on.
When the notes came out, it wasn’t just Lin Fan alone that was interested.
Finally, Xiao Mu showed interest in the giant robot.
Though it was better to say that Xiao Mu was just interested in the research behind the giant robot and not the giant robot itself. In Xiao Mu’s eyes, the giant robot itself still wasn’t something that was that interesting.
Once he had finished reading through the notes, Lin Fan knew that there wasn’t much that he could do right now. After all, this was technology that came from a completely different era and a completely different continent.
The only thing that he could actually do was...
"I’ll take a few pictures." Lin Fan said while holding the jade slip up to the robot.
The elder didn’t mind if he wanted to record the details of the robot itself since it wasn’t as if this was anything to hide. It was just that the elder didn’t actually think that Lin Fan would be able to accomplish anything even if he did this.
Lin Fan made sure to take detailed notes about this giant robot so that he could bring it back to study later. After all, Lin Fan had already taken in people from the technologically advanced continent before.
Though he wasn’t certain they would be able to figure out anything, it was better than not trying at all.
There was even a part of him that wanted to take out a magic stone or even a battery from the ship that he had obtained. It was just that it would have been really hard to explain where he got these things if he were to actually do this.
So in the end, Lin Fan held back.
When he was done imprinting the details of the giant robot on the jade slip, he turned to the elder and said, "Where are we going next?"
The elder didn’t hesitate to lead him to the room with the thing that looked like a ship.
It was just that after coming here, the elder said the same thing.
"We can’t power it up. We don’t know what kind of power supply this thing uses."
It wasn’t as if Lin Fan had been expecting anything, but he still couldn’t help feeling disappointed when he heard the elder say this. There was a small part of him that had hoped the Dao Sect would have at least brought some power supplies or figured something out in the past.
But remembering all of the signs that he had seen, Lin Fan knew that this just wasn’t to be.
It didn’t seem to matter which room they went to, it was the same thing where they didn’t have the power source for the items that were in the rooms.
They had avoided those rooms earlier since they thought that those rooms were dangerous because of the weapons stored in them. But in the end, it turned out that all of these weapons were already useless.
Unlike the weapons of the cultivation continent, these were all weapons that relied on being powered by some unknown power source. So as long as there was no power at all, they couldn’t be activated at all.
When he read the notes, Lin Fan knew that it was some kind of tech that was above what he knew that was powering these weapons. The lasers that had been used as defenses were enough to demonstrate that.
From what he could understand, he could tell that some of these things relied on kinetic force to fire similar to rail guns in his past life. But the technology that was used to actually fire these weapons was beyond what he was capable of understanding.
As for the others, he really didn’t have any idea of how they worked.
There was a small part of him that hoped the system’s guidance system would show him, but it didn’t activate in the end. It seemed that this was too high tech for the system to show him.
"At least I’ll make a record and ask the ones back in Dungeon City about this later."
