With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1603: It was that easy?

Every room that they opened seemed to have the same thing.

It was some kind of weapon that had been salvaged from the other continent.

They had no idea what each of these weapons did, the only thing that they knew was that each of these looked dangerous.

So in the end, there wasn’t a single thing that could be taken away. At the same time, they weren’t even able to look closely at the different things that the Dao Sect had gathered from the other continent.

But after seeing a bunch of these weapons, Lin Fan couldn’t help thinking to himself, "If they’re confident enough to keep these weapons in this place, then it should mean that they aren’t that dangerous."

However, even if he thought this to himself, it wasn’t as if he was going to say anything.

He could see the way that Ye Qing Huan looked at the weapons, so he knew that she wouldn’t agree to take them away, let alone look at them closely. It even seemed like there was some kind of personal grudge that she held against this thing.

"It should be the unwillingness of a society that isn’t as advanced to come in contact with things like this."

This wasn’t something that he could change since this was the kind of mentality that was developed since she was young.

Even among the older generation with more experience, it wasn’t as if he would be able to convince them either.

"But in the end, everything will be mine once I take the authority of this place." That was how Lin Fan comforted himself in the end. Though it wasn’t as if he was wrong about this.

After they finished going through all of the different rooms and seeing what the Dao Sect had stored in this place, they went back to the end of the hall.

In the end, everything that they wanted was behind these few doors that were at the end of the hall.

It was just that whenever Xiao Mu tried to approach these doors, there would always be some kind of defense that appeared. It seemed like this place was the only place where there were defenses against Xiao Mu’s attempts to hack into the panels.

When the other two approached the panels normally, there weren’t any defenses that appeared.

In fact, it even reached the point where just Xiao Mu’s presence alone was enough to trigger the defenses. The way that this happened, it was almost as if there was some kind of prejudice that was being held against Xiao Mu.

"Is there something inside of you that’s triggering it?" Lin Fan couldn’t help asking when he saw this.

Xiao Mu’s expression was ugly because of this, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that it could say.

From the way that it had fallen silent earlier, it was obvious that Xiao Mu had checked itself to see if there was anything inside of it that was causing this. But the fact that Xiao Mu never gave an answer to this meant that it had never been able to find anything.

Or at the very least, it wasn’t able to connect any of its parts to the defenses of this place.

So in the end, Xiao Mu had no choice but to remain back and watch while Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan looked at the panels to these doors. Though in comparison, it wasn’t as if the two of them knew what they were looking at.

Lin Fan had a better time of it since he had some understanding of technology, so he at least knew what to look for.

Ye Qing Huan had this dazed look in her eyes, almost as if her attention was drifting off because she didn’t know what she was supposed to be looking for. It really felt like she was about to wander off into the land of dreams at any moment with the way she acted.

But as he looked at the panel, it was clear that Lin Fan didn’t know what to do either.

It wasn’t as if he could hack into the panels like Xiao Mu did and it wasn’t as if he could force out the password.

It really felt like there wasn’t a single thing that Lin Fan could do as he stood in front of these doors. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Or that was the case until he suddenly felt something coming from deep within him.

Lin Fan wasn’t certain what he was feeling at first, but then he realized that it was something that was coming from the token. It was almost as if the token was trying to tell him something.

When he pulled out the token, he could see that there was this faint glow that was around it. However, it wasn’t as if the faint glow alone was enough to tell him what it wanted to do.

It took a while for the feeling to become more clear, but he could tell that it wanted to touch the panel that was in front of him.

As for what it would do after it touched the panel...

But in the end, Lin Fan chose to trust this feeling since the token had gotten him out of quite a bit of trouble in the past. If it was telling him to do something, it wasn’t as if it would guide him wrong.

Lin Fan could see the way that Ye Qing Huan looked at him when he moved the token, but she didn’t stop him. The only thing that she did was prepare herself just in case something happened.

It looked like she was ready to run away the moment that the laser guns appeared.

Only that didn’t happen in the end.

After the token touched the panel, there was this glow that spread from it to the panel. Though after spreading that glow to the panel, it didn’t seem like the panel itself was about to do anything.

It was only after a long silence that there was a reaction that came from the panel.

"Beep."

"Access granted."

"Click."

The three sounds that came out in series caught Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan off guard.

The two of them looked at each other as if they couldn’t believe what they just heard and they didn’t move forward after hearing the door seemingly open like this.

But it didn’t matter how the two of them tried to deny it when the facts were right in front of them. Even if they were to deny the truth, it wasn’t as if that truth would change.

So in the end, Lin Fan slowly reached out towards the door and found that it was indeed unlocked. All it took was a simple push to open up the door itself and reveal what was inside.

This room was the same as the others that he had seen before, but Lin Fan could also tell that there was something else that was in this room. It seemed like there was some kind of barrier here that isolated them from the records that were contained within.

They already knew that there would be top class security in this place since the Dao Sect had treated what was stored on the third floor with the utmost importance. It was just that they had underestimated just how much they cared about this.

Even if the door was open, it wasn’t as if they could open the barrier as well.

Xiao Mu had also wanted to see what was happening, so it started taking a step forward. But the moment that it did, the laser guns appeared again as if they were prepared to shoot it.

Xiao Mu’s face turned ugly once more when it saw the guns pointed at it, so it had no choice but to move back while muttering under its breath. It really seemed to resent whoever had designed this place.

After seeing Xiao Mu like this, both Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan couldn’t help finding it funny.

But that only lasted for a few seconds before they focused on the barrier in front of them.

This was the new obstacle that they had to deal with if they wanted to access the records of this place.

Though it wasn’t as if they had any idea of how to deal with this thing since they didn’t even know where this barrier came from. The only thing that they could do was look around the room to see if there was anything off about this place.

Or that would have been the case if not for the token acting out once more.

After the token had opened the door, it seemed to have fallen into some kind of slumber.

But after a while, it was as if the token’s power had been restored and it started glowing once more. This glow didn’t just remain on the token itself, but rather spread to the barrier as well.

It was strange seeing the glow spread to the barrier like this, but it seemed to be having some kind of effect on the barrier.

After a while, the barrier slowly seemed to disappear.

It was a small hole in the barrier at first, but soon the entire barrier itself was starting to disappear as the hole became bigger and bigger. Eventually, the entire barrier disappeared without a single trace.

"Was it really that easy?" Lin Fan couldn’t help revealing a wry smile after seeing the token take care of the barrier like this.

There was still a part of him that couldn’t believe what just happened.
