Chapter 1569: Different again

When they returned to the law enforcement hall, they could see that both the Fire Fist King and the Poison King were looking better than before.

Though the law enforcement pavilion didn’t have the same spiritual energy concentration as the training hall, it was certainly not lacking either.

Or at least in the dorm that they were currently staying in.

The dorm rooms were created for the disciples of the law enforcement pavilion, which meant that it was also filled with spiritual energy for them to cultivate.

But even if they had recovered, it wasn’t as if the Fire Fist King or the Poison King could move just yet. They still had deeper injuries that they weren’t able to heal and those were the ones that were more dangerous.

If they didn’t take care of these injuries now, they would be leaving themselves open to hidden dangers in the future.

So they didn’t bother the Poison King or the Fire Fist King as they recovered.

"Why are there even more of them gathered around?"

Lin Fan couldn’t help looking confused at all of the souls that had suddenly gathered around him. He hadn’t changed anything about himself or gained anything new, so it wasn’t as if there was a reason for this.

But the main thing was that there were more elders that were gathered here.

He could easily tell that they were elders based on their clothing, so it wasn’t as if there was anything to doubt about this.

However, it was strange to see how the elders were looking at him.

The friendly look in their eyes as they stared at him really made Lin Fan a bit uncomfortable.

Especially the ones that he hadn’t interacted with previously.

They were the ones that had completely ignored him until now, so it was a bit jarring seeing them suddenly open themselves up to him.

With how they did it, it even felt like there was something that they wanted from him.

Only what could the souls of these elders possibly want from someone like him?

"Do they want to possess me?" That was the only thing that Lin Fan could think of.

But in the end, Su Ling calmed him down by saying, "There’s something different with the token. It seems like you’ve made some progress."

Lin Fan was caught off guard when he heard this before raising the token to have a closer look at it. But no matter how he looked at it, he didn’t think that it had changed at all.

At the same time, he couldn’t think of what it could have been that would have brought about this change in the token. It felt like this had happened all of a sudden without him even knowing what it was that had happened.

Even if that was the case, it wasn’t as if it was a bad thing.

If the elders were willing to talk to him now, it might mean that they were willing to give him more authority. With more authority, he would be able to obtain more information from this place.

However, it didn’t seem like the elders were willing to make a contract with him just yet.

No matter how much closer they were to him, it didn’t seem like they were willing to give him that last bit of authority.

Still, it seemed like they were willing to give him a bit more than what he had previously.

Such as when they led Lin Fan back to the armoury, they actually gave him access to some of the equipment in the back that he didn’t have access to previously. These were the equipment that were clearly for the elders.

With this equipment, Lin Fan had more confidence to deal with whatever he encountered. He might not be able to face the elders head on, but at least he would be able to escape with these items in hand.

In fact, it was even too much for him that he wouldn’t be able to use all of this on his own.

So when he suggested that he split this with Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu, he found that they actually agreed with this.

Though the strange thing was that when it came to the Fire Fist King and the Poison King, the elders were vehemently against letting them use it. It was as if they held some kind of grudge against the Fire Fist King and the Poison King with how they threatened to take the weapons away.

It didn’t make any sense at all why they would act this way towards the Fire Fist King and the Poison King, but there wasn’t anything that Lin Fan could do about it.

Though he did feel like it was a bit of a pity.

If the Fire Fist King and the Poison King could use these things, there would be no need for them to worry about the elders from the other sects anymore. After all, they would be able to take down all of those elders without a problem relying on these weapons.

Other than the weapons, they actually brought Lin Fan to a few more cells.

This was something that he was already used to, so there was no time wasted as he went into them and unlocked the hidden compartments with the weapons.

Only this time, the inheritances that he received were on a completely different level.

After all, this time they were cells that the elders had access to.

The cells that the disciples had access to were only normal cells since that was all that they could manage. But the elders naturally were more capable than the disciples and could manage stronger prisoners.

The stronger the prisoners were, the better their inheritances as well.

Which was why Lin Fan had no idea what he was even staring at when he pulled out those inheritances. Even Ye Qing Huan didn’t seem to have an idea of what to do with these things.

Luckily for them, there were two people here that they could turn to for help.

"Where did you get this?" The Fire Fist King and the Poison King were stunned when they saw what Lin Fan was showing them.

They just didn’t seem to believe what they were looking at and had to look over them again just to confirm it. But after looking over these items several times, it wasn’t as if they could deny it any longer.

"Will they be useful?"

Bitter smiles appeared on the faces of the two when they heard this.

"That’s an understatement." That was what they said at first, but then with a more serious expression and a sigh, they said, "It won’t be useful to everyone, but there are those that can definitely benefit from those."

"You’re thinking about what I’m thinking?" The Poison King looked at the Fire Fist King with a smile on his face.

The Fire Fist King didn’t say anything as he just gave a nod with a smile.

It was clear that they already had candidates in mind for who would be able to use these things.

But then they suddenly handed these things back to Lin Fan.

Lin Fan was surprised since he was already prepared to hand everything over to the Fire Fist King and the Poison King. These weren’t things that he could use, so he wanted to give it to them for them to use.

After handing it back, the Poison King said, "Use it for your own faction. I’ll give you advice on who to give it to, but it’ll definitely be more useful if you give it to them yourself."

The Fire Fist King nodded in agreement to this.

Lin Fan didn’t know what to say when he heard this, but he couldn’t help shaking his head with a faint smile in the end.

There was a part of him that had considered this, but he felt that it was a bit of a stretch. But now that even the Fire Fist King and the Poison King were telling him to do this, it seemed like there was no longer a need to hesitate.

"I’ll still hand a few things over to the sect."

When the Fire Fist King and the Poison King were about to say something, Lin Fan took out what he was referring to.

The two of them raised one eyebrow each in doubt, but they soon understood what Lin Fan meant by this. After reading through what Lin Fan was prepared to hand over to the sect, they nodded with approval.

After all, these things were only somewhat valuable.

These were the inheritances that Lin Fan had gotten from the disciples, not the elders. So these inheritances couldn’t be considered too high level that the elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect would have wanted to get involved.

In the end, they did care about the Heavenly Demon Sect still.

"Let’s go to a different place to rest up."

The Fire Fist King and the Poison King looked a bit doubtful when they heard this, but they still followed Lin Fan to a different dorm room. When they arrived, all of the doubt that they had disappeared.

After all, this was a dorm for an elder.

It was on a completely different level from the previous dorm that they were in.

This was the second benefit that Lin Fan received from the elders, so he was taking full advantage of it.

In this room, the Fire Fist King and the Poison King would certainly heal much faster.
