With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1371: Secret identity

Chapter 1371: Secret identity

“Now, how do I want to do this?” Lin Fan said to himself as he looked at the wide selection that was in front of him.

The selection that was laid out in front of him was a special feature of the Dungeon Master System, but it wasn’t as if it was free. This was something that had cost him DP to use, but it definitely was worth it.

After all, Lin Fan had to create the perfect image for himself this time.

This was a matter that involved the top experts of two continents and he couldn’t allow his identity to be revealed. So before he could do anything, he had to prepare a secret identity for himself.

Though in reality, it was nothing more than a disguise.

What was laid out in front of Lin Fan was the different costume options that the Dungeon Master System offered. He was just having them projected in front of him so he could see the options.

Otherwise he really might not have been able to afford everything that was laid out in front of him.

These were the top grade items that his Dungeon Master System provided, which meant that they also cost the most DP. However, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to pull out the best since he knew that this was necessary.

It was only the best of the best that would allow him to keep his identity hidden.

If he wanted to hide himself from some of the top experts of the cultivation continent, this was the bare minimum.

But other than that, there was something else that he was looking for.

Since it was an outfit for a secret identity, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling a little excited about all of this.

Having a secret identity made him feel like some kind of secret agent or super hero.

For someone like Lin Fan that came from a world where these things were considered cool, it was only natural that he would feel excited about choosing this thing.

As for what he was looking for specifically…

“This doesn’t seem like it’s sleek enough. It seems a bit too puffy to be something that a secret agent would wear.”

Since it was all about being cool, it was natural that he was trying to find the coolest looking outfit out of all the things that were being offered by the Dungeon Master System.

It was to the point where he wasn’t really thinking about functionality anymore…

“How could you hide this from me?”

Lin Fan was caught off guard when he heard this, but then he turned to look at Rokuko who was standing behind him.

He didn’t ask her what she was doing here since he had already guessed what it was that had alerted her. Since he was using the Dungeon Master System, she would have gotten an alert that the DP amount had decreased.

However, what Lin Fan didn’t understand was why that even mattered.

With the way that Dungeon City was flourishing and with all of the new DP that they earned on the magic continent, there was a large amount of DP that was currently available to them.

As such, they were both allowed to use DP for things that they wanted to use DP for.

In fact, there were quite a few things that Rokuko used DP for that Lin Fan didn’t say anything about.

So it wasn’t as if there was anything that was wrong with what Lin Fan was using this DP for. There would be no reason for Rokuko to act this way.

However, the reason that Rokuko had asked this question wasn’t because she was angry. Rather it was that she was unhappy that he had left her out of such an interesting thing.

Even though she wasn’t someone that came from the same world as Lin Fan since she was a dungeon core, she was someone that had access to many of the things that had inspired Lin Fan to do this.

It could be said that this was what Rokuko spent most of the DP that she used on.

So that was why she was just as excited about this as Lin Fan was.

“If you’re going to do this, then we’ll have to go all out.” Rokuko said with eyes that seemed to be glowing.

Normally Lin Fan wouldn’t feel as excited about things as Rokuko would, but he had to admit that her enthusiasm was rubbing off on him.

Eventually, the two of them started picking out different outfits that they thought would look good on Lin Fan. They didn’t really focus on functionality after a certain point, they were just thinking about how cool it would look if Lin Fan showed up in this outfit.

Though that was mainly because of the effects that these outfits had that enhanced how cool Lin Fan looked. That came at the cost of actual effectiveness when it came to hiding his true appearance.

This came to an end when…

“What are you doing?”

When the two of them heard this, they turned to see that it was Haku that was standing there.

Haku wasn’t here to see Lin Fan, she was just here following Rokuko.

Though when she saw the two of them like this, there was a strange look that appeared on her face even though it seemed to make Rokuko excited.

The way that Haku acted was as if she had caught her younger sibling doing something embarrassing. Of course, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan or Rokuko saw what they were doing as something embarrassing.

In fact, this question even made Rokuko explain why the outfit that they picked was so special.

Haku just listened as Rokuko excitedly told her about this, but it was clear by the look in her eyes that she really didn’t understand why Rokuko was so excited about this. It was the look of someone that just didn’t understand the hobby that was being explained to them.

By the end of it, Rokuko was slowly understanding what was happening and she was losing momentum.

By the end, there was an awkward look on Rokuko’s face as she said, “As you can see, it’s quite the cool looking outfit.”

Haku gave a small nod in response before asking, “But does it have any special effects.”

At this, both Lin Fan and Rokuko revealed awkward looks.

Since they were the ones that chose it, they naturally knew what effects these clothes had. It was just that when they were filled with excitement, it seemed like they forgot about something.

That something was the main reason that Lin Fan was preparing this outfit.

“We’ll revise it.” Rokuko said in a depressed voice in the end.

Haku didn’t say anything in response to this as she just gave a small nod.

It was one of those times where there was a disconnect between them, but this was something that was natural. It wasn’t as if pure excitement alone would be enough to move Haku when it came to this.

If she just wasn’t interested in it, she just wasn’t interested in it.

For Lin Fan, there was a deeper blow than just this alone.

Since he had his experience from his past life, he felt that this blow resonated with him on a much deeper level. It was a level of having experienced something similar in the past.

In his past life, it could be said that he was someone that was quite into things like manga and light novels. In the slang of his past life, he could have been considered an otaku.

Which was why he had often lost himself in his excitement when it came to explaining things like this when people asked.

Only when they looked at him like how Haku was looking at Rokuko…

He knew exactly what that feeling was and how much of a blow to one’s enthusiasm was, but he also knew that this wasn’t something that could be blamed on anyone. This was just a matter of having different opinions.

So the only thing that he could do was…

“For now, let’s take another look at this outfit.” Though he said this, there was certainly a lack of enthusiasm as he said this since he could feel the second hand embarrassment that came from the way that Haku acted.

With this enthusiasm blown out of them, they didn’t act the same way as before. The two of them became much more objective when it came to choosing the outfit for Lin Fan.

Though as time passed, there was a bit of enthusiasm that slowly came back.

It was hard to remain down when there was someone that shared your interest.

Talking to them and working with them was more than enough to raise one’s spirits.

Since Rokuko and Lin Fan were here together, they were able to slowly raise each other’s spirits until they were once again filled with excitement.

Though they did make sure not to lose control as Haku was still there watching over them. They didn’t forget the reason that they had decided to pick out this outfit in the first place.

At the same time, since Haku was there, it meant that there was someone to test it on.

Haku wasn’t surprised to see that this thing worked since she was a dungeon core as well.

She knew the power of the dungeon system was one of the dungeon cores. It was a system that relied on the powers of a god to function, so there was no doubt that it would be powerful.
