Chapter 1369: Dungeon full of people
Chapter 1369: Dungeon full of people
In the end, the plan worked very well.
It worked so well that an entire dungeon had to be created just to store all of these captives.
Of course, it had to be a dungeon that was created or else it wouldn’t have been able to hold all of these captives. After all, these were captives that came from the righteous sects.
The weakest among them were in the Nascent Soul Realm and there were some that were in the Soul Formation Realm. They were not people that were that easy to hold, if not for the fact that the beastmen army had been sent to help Lin Fan.
The beastmen army was one of the trump cards of the Laver Empire, so the soldiers that made up its forces weren’t that weak.
While they might not be strong together, the teamwork between them was enough that they would be able to face enemies that were stronger than them.
But in the end, that wasn’t necessary.
They weren’t even the ones that captured all of these captives, the only thing that they were useful for was carrying the captives that were caught back to the dungeon.
That was because the preparations that Lin Fan made worked too well.
He thought that these high grade cultivators would have defenses against these things, but it turned out that they didn’t have any defenses at all. That was why they were able to capture them without any resistance.
Though to be fair, it wasn’t as if normal people would think to defend against the things that Lin Fan had done.
This was all because normal people wouldn’t have been able to do what he had done.
What really caught these captives was the fact that their array had suddenly been used against them.
These were the arrays that they had placed to guard the special pure elemental energy items that they were after. But these were arrays that were supposed to be guarded arrays of their sects.
These weren’t arrays that just anyone would have been able to activate.
So when Lin Fan activated them and trapped them in an illusion, it was easy to use a sedative gas to knock them out and capture them all.
But the bigger part of it was the arrogance that they had as high grade cultivators.
As high grade cultivators, they were naturally confident in their own abilities and didn’t think that anyone would be able to do anything to them. That was why they had been walking around as if they owned the place even though they were on a different continent.
It was also why they were so easy to catch.
They just simply didn’t believe that there was anything here that would threaten them.
Or at least the things that would threaten them wouldn’t appear in these places.
Once they were knocked out, Lin Fan made use of the magic item that he had taken from the storage room to bind them. Though at that point, it really was a bit overkill since there was no need for that.
After capturing all of these captives, the only thing that was left was to get information from them.
That was the second reason that this dungeon was built.
This was a dungeon that Haku built which meant that as her summons, Cheongryong and Baekho were able to control the settings of the dungeon as long as they were given permission.
Since they were here to help Lin Fan and this dungeon was part of the plan, they were naturally given permission.
“So I just need to keep them trapped in there?” Cheongryong asked Lin Fan as they watched the people wandering around on the screen.
Cheongryong was the one that received the main permission since she was the commander of this beastmen army. Baekho also had permission, but it was secondary permission since he was the vice commander.
It was surprising for Lin Fan to find out that Baekho was the vice commander, but it wasn’t hard to figure out that this was Haku’s way of harassing him. Even if she did show her full support, she didn’t miss her chance to do this little bit of harassment.
As for why these people were trapped there and who they were, it was very simple.
This was the same situation as the Kunlun Sect elders.
They were currently wandering around in an illusion array that was the same one that they had put down. However, they were doing it inside of a controlled environment, so nothing would allow them to escape.
It was just that they were allowed to also find out that they were trapped inside of the array that they had set up.
This was done in the same way as those Kunlun Sect elders which resulted in them revealing everything that they knew.
As this happened, both Cheongryong and Baekho looked at Lin Fan with strange looks.
Even though Lin Fan kept a calm look on his face, there was a part of him that couldn’t help being surprised by these people. After all, one would think that at least some of them would be different and they wouldn’t fall for the same trick.
But in the end, it turned out that all of them were the same.
All of them had the same arrogance as ones that came from the righteous sects, so they all fell for the same tricks.
“In the end, they are all the same or else they wouldn’t be planning this in the first place.” Lin Fan thought to himself with a secret sigh.
Though it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing.
Since they were all the same, it meant that this was easy for him.
With this information, he was able to find that all of the sects had the same plan of collecting the pure elemental energy for some kind of array that they would use against the Heavenly Demon Sect.
With the way that they talked about the Heavenly Demon Sect, it was obvious that they were all afraid of them.
It wasn’t a surprise to Lin Fan since he knew the relationship between the two sides.
It took four righteous sects just to match the Heavenly Demon Sect, so it was only natural that they would be this afraid of them.
But even if they were afraid, it seemed a bit excessive that they were planning four different prison arrays just to trap the experts from the Heavenly Demon Sect.
That was the one thing that was consistent, all of the righteous sects were moving on their own. It seemed that the relationship between the different sects wasn’t that good that they didn’t work together like this.
The relationship between them was nothing more than an alliance out of necessity.
If it wasn’t for the threat that the Heavenly Demon Sect posed to them, then they never would have worked together like this.
So that meant that it was quite easy to take advantage of them.
The place that they were planning to make their move wasn’t their home turf, so it was easy to turn the playing fields against them.
“We’ll get the rest of the information that you need.”
Cheongryong and Baekho took over once Lin Fan got most of the important information. There were still a few more details about their plans that needed to be obtained and Lin Fan was planning on leaving it to the experts.
The next thing was thinking about how he would deal with them.
“It seems like I really have no choice but to expose a bit more of my secrets.” Lin Fan thought to himself with another secret sigh.
There were many different ideas that passed through his mind, but none of them seemed like they would work.
The only thing that seemed feasible was if he revealed a bit more of his power to Haku and the Laver Empire. It was only then that they would trust him to take care of this matter.
But Lin Fan really had no choice since this was something that only he could do.
If he were to leave it to the others, then it would be a bit too risky since they didn’t have the same way to deal with these prison arrays that he did. It was only if he dealt with them himself that everything would end harmlessly.
This was all because of his special physique.
When Cheongryong and Baekho came back, they had all the information that Lin Fan needed.
As for how they got this information, Lin Fan wasn’t interested in finding out.
After all, he already had an idea of how they got it. There was a faint scent of blood that was in the air that gave him this idea.
Not to mention that he had seen the state that the Kunlun Sect elders had been left in.
He already knew what kind of techniques these people used and he wasn’t interested in finding out more.
“Her majesty wants to see you.”
Lin Fan wasn’t surprised when he heard this since he had been expecting it too.
It was also what he had been planning to do if they didn’t bring this up since there were a few things that he had to show them.
Seeing that he gave a simple nod, Cheongryong didn’t say anything else as she led the way back.
The way that she led him back was as if he was some kind of criminal that was being led to his trial.
When he arrived, he found that there were plenty of people waiting for him.
