Chapter 1316: Watch carefully
Chapter 1316: Watch carefully
There were many people that signed up for the tournament in the end.
It was even a bit too much that there was no choice but to hold qualifiers to see who would make it to the next round.
But that only applied to the inner and outer sect disciples.
Those core disciples didn’t have to face the qualifiers at all.
There wasn’t a single person that complained about this since they recognized that these people were qualified for this right.
It was even a relief for them that the core disciples moved on without fighting against them.
After all, it wouldn’t end well if they had to fight the core disciples as well.
So it was best to let the core disciples move on to the next round without having to face them.
But that didn’t mean that there weren’t any fierce fights among the inner sect and outer sect disciples. They were still disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect, one of the Five Great Sects and it wasn’t as if any of them were actually weak.
“Come and watch the fights.”
Lin Fan had arranged for a seat for Han Ba to watch over all of the fights that were happening.
Since it was a tournament, it was only natural that a crowd had been arranged to watch. Even if the inner sect and outer sect disciples didn’t participate in the tournament, that didn’t stop them from joining in the fun.
Even the elders came to watch since this was an event that was approved by the sect.
It was an event that had been approved by the Heavenly Demon after all, so there was nothing that they could complain about.
In fact, that meant that they were even comfortable enough to start betting on the results which really was expected of a demonic sect.
Since there were plenty of people that were interested, it was only natural that a space had been prepared for them to watch.
At the same time, there were those that were participating that were watching as well since they were scouting out their opponents.
Though when it came to Han Ba, there really wasn’t a need for him to watch since he didn’t think that there was anything to worry about when it came to the inner sect and outer sect disciples.
Han Ba wasn’t looking down on them, it was just that the gap between them really was too big for him to worry about them.
In the end, Lin Fan forced him to watch even though he wanted to go back into closed door cultivation.
Though Lin Fan forced him to watch, it didn’t seem like Han Ba was really paying attention to the tournament.
“Watch closely.” Ye Qing Huan suddenly said from behind them that sent a tremble down Han Ba’s back.
The trauma that Han Ba had from Ye Qing Huan was not something that could be easily overcome and it was clear that he was still deeply affected.
But even if Ye Qing Huan told him to do this, it wasn’t as if he knew what he was looking for. To his eyes, Han Ba thought that he was just watching a bunch of uncoordinated fighting between the inner sect and outer sect disciples.
It wasn’t as if there was anything special about what he was watching.
That was until Lin Fan suddenly said, “You’re struggling to process everything that you’ve been learning, right?”
Han Ba couldn’t help being caught off guard when he heard this before looking at Lin Fan with a strange look. But in the end, he slowly gave a nod to show that this was indeed the case.
Lin Fan wasn’t surprised, he just said, “Then look carefully at them and observe them from a different angle.”
Han Ba still had the same strange look on his face when he heard this, but he did follow what Lin Fan said and turned to look at the fighting in the arena more carefully.
As he did, the expression on his face slowly changed as if he was recognizing something.
Lin Fan revealed a faint smile when he saw this.
After all, this was the main reason that he had set up this place for Han Ba.
Though the one that noticed this first wasn’t Lin Fan, but rather Ye Qing Huan.
“He’s struggling. At this rate, he won’t be able to beat them.” She said all of a sudden to Lin Fan the night before the tournament began.
Lin Fan didn’t doubt what Ye Qing Huan said, but he was still caught off guard that she would say something like this all of a sudden. He didn’t understand why she would suddenly say something like this as well.
Ye Qing Huan explained, “It’s because he isn’t able to process everything that he’s learning. He’s gaining experience from fighting everyone, but that’s only experience from a single point of view. If he wants to become stronger, he needs to gain experience from other points of view.”
Lin Fan couldn’t help being confused after Ye Qing Huan said this.
That was why Ye Qing Huan went on to explain the rest of it to Lin Fan.
It was a bit hard for Lin Fan to understand since she used terms that he wasn’t familiar with, but eventually he summarized it with…
“So basically he needs to see things from another perspective.”
Ye Qing Huan nodded to show that this was the case, but the look on her face made it seem like she wasn’t happy that he had shortened it this much.
Still, it wasn’t as if Lin Fan could have done anything else.
The way that she explained things really was too complicated for him if he didn’t shorten it like this.
That was why Lin Fan arranged this spot for Han Ba in the end.
Even now, he could tell that the aura around Han Ba was changing as he fully focused on the fight that was happening in front of him. He was absorbing the different things from the fight and incorporating it into the things that he observed before.
At this rate, it seemed like Han Ba would be able to make another breakthrough.
It would only be safe if he were to make another breakthrough since there was no telling how strong those senior brothers and senior sisters were.
Though the main reason that Lin Fan felt it would be safe was because Ye Qing Huan said that this would be the case.
After seeing her breakthrough, Lin Fan had far more confidence in her.
“I’ll leave it to you then.” Lin Fan said to Ye Qing Huan.
Ye Qing Huan gave a nod as she continued observing Han Ba while he was watching the fights.
Lin Fan wasn’t certain what he would be able to do to help Han Ba, so he left this matter to Ye Qing Huan. She was the one that had been able to pick out the flaws that he had and she would be able to figure out what he needed to do to fix these flaws.
So there really wasn’t anything for him to do here.
Instead of wasting time worrying over whether Han Ba would be able to find his breakthrough or not, he was going to focus on the inner sect and outer sect disciples.
Right now, he had only recruited a few people that he liked into his faction.
That included the outer sect disciples that he had escorted previously and a few inner sect disciples that they were close to. They weren’t the most talented, but they were loyal and that mattered the most.
He could train them to become stronger and give them things that would make them stronger, but if they weren’t loyal…
For a new faction, the most important thing was loyalty.
But other than these people, his faction was still a bit lacking.
So that was why he was using this chance to find more people to recruit into his faction.
The ones that entered this tournament were those that needed resources for their cultivation.
Only after the core disciples showed themselves, there were those that joined in hopes of showing off to them and finding someone to lean on. They were those that hadn’t joined a faction yet and were looking for a place in a faction.
Since they were looking for a place, there was no reason that Lin Fan couldn’t recruit them into his faction.
After all, he and Han Ba were also core disciples.
It wasn’t as if they would have a reason not to join his faction if he were to invite them…
Well, other than the fact that his faction was weaker than the other factions.
But other than that, there wasn’t much that was really lacking.
In terms of resources, Lin Fan might even have a bit more because of the deal that he made with the elders. So it wasn’t just their masters backing Lin Fan’s faction, it was also the other elders that were also backing them.
For now, Lin Fan was looking for those that had personalities that he liked since he valued loyalty the most.
But later on, he would be able to recruit others since they would have enough loyal members to form a core for the faction. He would recruit others that could even be considered disposable in the end.
This was all that Lin Fan looked for while watching over the different preliminary rounds that were being held.
The one thing to note was that none of the other core disciples were watching.
Prideful people like them would never lower themselves to doing something like this.
