Chapter 1315: Strongest under the heaven

Chapter 1315: Strongest under the heaven

“What even is this?”

The disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect were all confused when they saw the posters that had appeared. These posters were placed all over the Heavenly Demon Sect, so it was impossible for them to miss all of these posters.

Only they couldn’t help being confused when they read what was on these posters.

After all, this was not an event that was officially being held by the Heavenly Demon Sect.

This was an event that seemed to be a privately hosted event.

For something like this to appear in the Heavenly Demon Sect, this was definitely the first time.

After all, it wasn’t as if events that were held privately were things that were allowed. This was the kind of thing that would be considered going against the authority of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Before things like this could even gain traction, they would be shut down by the law enforcers.

So that was why the disciples that saw these posters were just waiting for them to be taken down.

It was just that when the law enforcers came, they just completely ignored these posters. Even when they had one right in front of their faces, they just ignored it and walked past.

With the way that the law enforcers acted, there was no longer any hesitation that came from the disciples.

If even the law enforcers were acting this way, then there really was no need to doubt these posters anymore.

For these disciples, they really did care a lot about what was written.

“Strongest under the heavens tournament.”

That was what all of these posters were for.

But it wasn’t the tournament itself that interested the disciples, it was the prizes that were listed that had their full attention.

The prizes that were being offered were things that anyone would have been attracted by since they weren’t prizes that could be found anywhere else.

At least for these inner sect and outer sect disciples, they were things that they would be willing to take a risk for. After all, it was unlikely that they would ever get another chance to obtain these things again.

So many of them started heading to the place to sign up.

“Are you sure about this?” Han Ba asked in a strange voice.

This certainly wasn’t what he had been expecting from Lin Fan when he said that he would prepare everything for their fight against the senior brothers and sisters.

“Of course, they won’t be able to do anything.” Lin Fan said with a confidence that Han Ba didn’t understand.

After all, it seemed very easy to rig this kind of tournament and there was no reason for those senior brothers and sisters to join in the first place.

“We’re not targeting all of them, we’re just targeting a portion of them. It’s not as if we can fight against all of their factions right away, so we have to be selective about who we target first.”

Han Ba gave a nod since he understood that this was indeed the case, but he didn’t understand how this would actually provoke them to fight them.

Lin Fan further explained, “The ones that we are targeting are those that have high pride, that’s why this tournament was named this.”

Those that were prideful naturally wouldn’t ignore the name of this tournament, even if the prizes weren’t good enough that it would entice them to enter. They would enter just because the name of the tournament suggested that they were deciding the strongest person.

Not to mention that it would only attract those that had this pride and no one else.

For those that had this pride, they wouldn’t resort to any tricks since that would sully their victory. It would mean that they were throwing away their own face if they were to use tricks.

In short, it was a mental strategy that created a cage around them which forced them to fight fair.

Han Ba still seemed to have some doubt about this after hearing the explanation, but Lin Fan was confident that everything would go the way that he planned.

So in the end, Han Ba just accepted it as well.

They just watched as all of the disciples signed up for the tournament.

The prizes weren’t just for the winner, even the runner ups and the participants received decent prizes that would convince them to sign up.

Though it seemed like Lin Fan was waiting for something specific to happen.

“Move out of the way!”

When this commotion started, Lin Fan immediately turned to look in the direction of that commotion before a faint smile appeared on his lips. This scene was the scene that he had been waiting to see after all.

All of the disciples did move out of the way since they recognized who it was that was pushing them aside.

This was one of the lackeys that followed a core disciple.

But it wasn’t just this lackey alone that appeared, it was also the core disciple that appeared as well. It seemed that they were putting on a big show as they signed up for this tournament as well.

This was the kind of show that made those that saw it back down and that was what they were aiming for.

After all, this would reduce the number of competitors that the core disciple would have to face.

However, the main reason was that this was the one and only hand that they could play. It was also a plan to kill two birds with one stone since they would be able to show off this core disciple’s prestige at the same time.

Though this was only possible if they were the only one that showed off like this.

With how things had been arranged, it was impossible for things to turn out this way.

“Who said that you’re the only one?”

When this voice rang out, everyone turned in the direction that it came from and saw that there was another group walking over. The moment that they saw this group, they immediately parted like the tides of the sea.

After all, this was another group that followed another core disciple.

It was only another core disciple that could match a core disciple.

Everyone immediately moved away from where these two core disciples faced each other, but they were still interested in how it would turn out. After all, it was a face off between these two core disciples.

But it wasn’t just these two core disciples that appeared.

There were even more core disciples that appeared that tried to show off as well.

One or two was still considered rare, but it wasn’t considered rare when there were so many of them. This diluted the pressure that the core disciples put on the other disciples that were here.

At the same time, there were prizes that attracted them.

“Even if I don’t place that high, I should be able to earn a few prizes.”

“At the same time, with all these core disciples here…”

“If I catch the attention of the core disciple, then I might be able to become one of their lackeys.”

So that was why the inner sect and outer sect disciples still signed up for the tournament in the end.

What the core disciples did wasn’t something that raised their own prestige, but rather something that had raised the prestige of the tournament itself. In short, they had been used by the one that had planned this tournament without even meaning to do so.

“How did you know that this would happen?” Han Ba asked in a shocked voice when he saw the result. He was even more shocked since he had seen the calm smile that had been on Lin Fan’s face the entire time, showing that he had already predicted that all this would happen.

Lin Fan just calmly said with the same smile, “Well, it’s only natural when it comes to these people that have this kind of pride.”

Han Ba didn’t seem like it was that obvious to him, but it was hard to deny it when the proof was in front of him like this. So he didn’t say anything as he watched the core disciples trying to show off in front of each other.

Lin Fan on the other hand had something to ask, “How confident are you that you’ll win?”

Han Ba seemed surprised to hear this, but then he said in a confident voice, “I’ve got this. I’m already prepared to face them.”

Lin Fan gave a simple nod in response before saying, “Don’t let your guard down.”

Han Ba also gave a nod before turning to look at the core disciples that were signing up.

Though he seemed like he was confident, Lin Fan could see that there was a trace of doubt that was in Han Ba’s eyes.

Even if Han Ba was confident, it was impossible for him to have full confidence in this.

There was a reason that these people were core disciples and they had been core disciples for a while.

The power that they possessed certainly wasn’t anything to look down on.

So if Han Ba wanted to beat them…

Still, Lin Fan was confident that he would be able to match them since he had been helping Han Ba train. At the same time, Ye Qing Huan had also been training Han Ba.

This was something that Han Ba had complained about when he saw Lin Fan again, but Lin Fan could tell that Han Ba’s aura was different.

There really was a reason why Ye Qing Huan was the number one core disciple.
