Chapter 1287: This is a bit too sad
“Are you ready?”
When the Poison King asked this, Lin Fan couldn’t help looking at him with a faint smile.
The Poison King didn’t ask anything else when he saw this since he knew that there was no need for him to ask anything else. When he showed this kind of confidence, there was only one thing that was left to do.
“It seems like there’s going to be a good show.” The Poison King couldn’t help revealing a faint smile as he said this.
But the Poison King didn’t go with Lin Fan to the place where the sect assessments were being held.
Instead, it was Lin Fan alone who went to this place.
When he arrived, he was immediately ignored by all of the people that were here.
This wasn’t strange since it wasn’t as if there was anyone that actually recognized him in the first place. Even if they knew who he was, it wasn’t as if he would have any reputation to speak of.
So in the end, there was no one that seemed to care about Lin Fan as he walked through the area.
What Lin Fan was doing was taking note of all those that were here.
Particularly, he was looking for those that he had read about previously.
He wanted to see just how powerful they were so he could see how he would treat them when the time came.
But he didn’t have the time to find them.
It was simply because there were too many disciples that were here.
Though Lin Fan already knew that the Heavenly Demon Sect was the largest demonic sect and would have many disciples because of its place among the Five Great Sects, he didn’t expect it to be this many.
It was countless times more than what the Love Sect had.
It was even countless times more than what the population of Dungeon City was.
This place by itself could have already been considered a giant city with how many people were gathered here. Though it wasn’t as if the territory of the Heavenly Demon Sect was small in the first place.
When it started, it was the elders that appeared.
Though they were elders, they weren’t actually elders that Lin Fan recognized.
This meant that the ones that had been gathered here weren’t the same elders that he had met the other day. They weren’t the high elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect, they were just elders that were involved in the day to day management of the sect.
That was why they had been assigned to this place to begin with.
It was only natural that none of them recognized Lin Fan either.
When it began and Lin Fan received his assignment, there was a faint smile that appeared on his lips.
That was because the place that he had been assigned was a bit too funny for him.
The first round of this sect assessment was one that was quite fitting for a sect assessment for the Heavenly Demon Sect.
With how many disciples were taking part in this sect assessment, it was only natural that they would hold a first round that would involve taking care of all the extra disciples that were participating.
It was a free for all where the disciples would be split into groups and would have to fight each other to see who would move on.
It wouldn’t be that funny if Lin Fan was assigned to a normal group, but he had been assigned to one of the groups that had one of the favourites to win.
When he had been assigned to this group, he immediately recognized that inner sect disciple.
It was an inner sect disciple known as Li Xiao who was famous for his sword techniques. It was said that his sword was so fast that when it was drawn, no one would be able to see it before it took their lives.
So everyone that had been assigned to this group seemed resigned to their fate as cannon fodder.
The fact that Lin Fan had been assigned to this group instead of a normal group showed that the elders just didn’t know him at all even though they were elders. But then again it wasn’t strange since matters about Lin Fan had been kept secret by the top elders of the Heavenly Demon Sect.
If they didn’t know about him, it meant that they just weren’t high enough.
Lin Fan was honestly the only one that felt that this wasn’t really anything to worry about.
When it was the turn for his group to fight, he calmly walked into the arena that had been prepared.
This wasn’t a big arena in the first place since they wanted to let everyone fight and eliminate each other, so Lin Fan was able to see the expressions on everyone’s faces when he walked in.
The only one that seemed confident was the one person who was the favourite to win.
Even though it was a battle royale, it seemed like he was completely confident in defeating everyone to move on.
When the fight began, everyone else did the only thing that they could do.
Without any hesitation, all of them suddenly went forward to surround Li Xiao.
It seemed like they wanted to use numbers against him since it was two hundred to one…or rather one hundred and ninety nine to one.
Even though only one of them would be making it through this round, it wasn’t as if they could even think about it as long as Li Xiao stood in their way. That was why all of them were focused on taking Li Xiao down.
While this was happening, Lin Fan just watched them fight as if they were children that were playing with each other. It didn’t seem like he was interested in getting involved with this fight with the way that he watched over them.
After a while, it seemed like things had reached a point where the situation had settled.
Even though the other disciples tried to swarm Li Xiao, it didn’t seem to make a difference at all.
The difference in power between the two sides was just too much that they were completely overwhelmed by his power.
No matter how they tried to attack him, no matter which angle they came at him from, it didn’t seem like anything that they did had an effect on him. With how easily he solved it, it was almost as if there were eyes in the back of his head.
After half of them had been eliminated and he didn’t even seem out of breath, that was when the others finally started paying attention to Lin Fan.
“What are you doing just sitting there? If you don’t help us, you’ll be eliminated by him too.” One of the disciples that were closer to Lin Fan suddenly said this as they tried to get him to help.
But the only thing that happened was that they were sent flying with a single flick of Lin Fan’s finger.
Lin Fan didn’t waste any time as he moved through the others that were also around him.
With just a few quick moves, he was able to knock out all of the disciples that were around him.
Of course doing something like this attracted the attention of the people around him.
Once they saw that he was knocking them out like this, they didn’t seem to hold back at all against him. After all, in their minds, he was nothing more than a traitor that wanted to show off on his own.
They thought that he recognized that he wouldn’t be able to defeat Li Xiao, so he wanted to defeat a few of them at least to show off a bit.
So in an instant, Lin Fan became the center of attention as everyone suddenly tried to knock him out.
But no matter what they did, they found that they weren’t able to push him back a single inch.
The only thing that happened was that all of them were knocked out by him.
After twenty people were knocked out like this, they didn’t seem to dare to approach him anymore.
Instead of focusing on them, Lin Fan started heading towards Li Xiao to everyone’s surprise.
With a smile, Li Xiao said, “Why not knock out a few more of them for me? It’ll make it easier for me later.”
Lin Fan didn’t seem to care about what Li Xiao said as he raised his hand and gestured for Li Xiao to come at him.
Li Xiao couldn’t help narrowing his eyes when he saw this, but he didn’t back down either. Especially when there was this unknown person that was looking down on him like this.
So he drew his sword in one single slash without a single sound.
He was planning to let his sword slip and cause some serious harm to this person for looking down on him.
“Snap.”
When he looked down, Lin Xiao found that his sword had actually snapped in half.
It was as if he had hit something hard that had snapped his sword in half like this.
“What is going on?” He said in a shocked voice, but there was nothing that he could do when he saw the fist coming right at him.
He raised his arms to block, but all that happened was that he was picked off the ground and thrown out of the ring.
When he landed, there was a look of disbelief on his face.
This Li Xiao had been one of the favourites to win and he was knocked out like this.
It was even a bit sad how quickly he had been knocked out.
