With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1041 - 1041: Once a coincidence, twice…(2)

After this realization, Lin Fan felt like he needed to head back to confirm something.

After all, there was another group that suddenly came to mind after thinking this.

The Yong Family from before had this strangely high tech base as well…

If that was the case, then it might run deeper than he thought.

It was just that he couldn’t leave as he was still in the middle of searching through the base that they were currently in. He had to properly finish gathering all of the things in this base before heading back.

So he suddenly said, “Pack up. We’ll read the rest when we get back.”

Kennedy was taken aback when he heard this, but he slowly nodded in agreement before he started organizing the pieces of paper that were scattered here.

There was a Love Sect elder nearby who was on guard while they had been searching this place, so Lin Fan just left that elder behind to protect Kennedy and help him store everything.

Since Kennedy couldn’t cultivate, he naturally wasn’t able to use Storage Rings. So it was the elder that would be helping him pack up all of the pieces of paper that were here.

Once Lin Fan left that room, he immediately started looking for the rest of the Love Sect elders that were scattered around the base. When he found them, he told them to quickly finish inspecting this place and then prepared to leave.

They were naturally taken aback when they heard this, but they didn’t ask anything else since it seemed like Lin Fan was in a rush. They knew him well enough that they knew when Lin Fan acted this way, there was no stopping him.

It seemed that there was something that he had figured out that he wanted to pursue.

In that case, all they could do was clean out this place as soon as possible.

There were some things that they couldn’t move such as the large glass vats that contained the creatures, but the things that could be moved were all put away in the Storage Rings to bring back.

They basically looted everything that wasn’t bolted down to the ground.

In a sense, they were like bandits that swept through this base.

But they were also doing this because it was necessary.

All of this was evidence that they needed to find the traitor that Kennedy had mentioned before.

When they left, Lin Fan suddenly remembered something and asked, “What’s the name of the traitor?”

“Tucker.” Kennedy said in a bitter voice that seemed to hold a grudge.

Lin Fan just gave a simple nod in response.

“The Wang Family? Are you sure that it’s the Wang Family that’s involved in this matter?”

Lin Fan gave a simple nod before taking out the transcripts from the reports that he found.

The originals were in a language that could be understood, but the handwriting wasn’t that good in the first place. So he had the crew of the space ship transcript the reports in more legible handwriting.

These were the transcripts that he pulled out now.

After reading these transcripts, there really was no way for them to deny the facts that were in front of them. These reports made it clear that the Wang Family had worked with the one behind the lab for a long time.

They had been providing the funding for the lab for a long time now based on these reports. It seemed that the Wang Family had even gotten quite closely involved in the matters of the lab based on what these reports said.

When they had finished reading the reports, there was no denying the involvement of the Wang Family.

But since the Wang Family was involved deeply, it meant that when the Wang Family collapsed, the funding for this lab disappeared. It wasn’t as if they could take the Wang Family’s money when the Wang Family collapsed either since the Mu Empire was the one that was responsible for the Wang Family’s collapse.

Before this, the Mu Empire had no idea that there were these labs under the ground in their territory.

That meant that the person that was running these labs had deliberately hid them from the Mu Empire. At the same time, it didn’t seem like they were planning on doing anything to the Mu Empire yet.

Though it was clear that the Wang Family had been funding this because they wanted to make use of the creatures that were developed to increase their own strength. Whether that was by taking down other noble families or by even starting a coup.

They were even linked to the Wu Empire after all.

So it wasn’t as if they were good people.

It wasn’t as if there was any need to feel bad about their collapse and the destruction of this lab.

“It seems that the lab was abandoned once they lost the funding from the Wang Family. Though if it wasn’t for the fact that there was that leak of that strange energy, then we wouldn’t have found it in the first place. It’s only because of the state of disrepair that I was able to find it.” Lin Fan said in a heavy voice with deeply knitted brows.

His words weren’t just that simple.

The implication behind his words were…

There’s the chance that there might be other labs.

No, it wasn’t just a chance, it was a very high chance that there were other labs that were hidden all over the Mu Empire as well. It was likely that some other families were also involved in this matter.

Seeing the look of thought on the faces of the girls in front of him, Lin Fan pulled out some more reports.

Yue Lan raised a brow as she asked, “What are these? Are these also from the lab?”

Lin Fan shook his head before explaining, “These are from the Yong Family lab. These were recovered by us a long time ago.”

Ming Xin couldn’t help reacting when she heard the words ‘Yong Family’.

After all, she had been involved with the Yong Family previously…

Or rather, her brother had been involved with the Yong Family.

So she didn’t expect Lin Fan to suddenly bring them up now of all times, but she was also curious why he would bring it up. Ming Xin knew that Lin Fan wouldn’t bring this matter up unless it was important.

After thinking about this, they took the reports and started reading them. Though these reports were in much worse shape than the reports that they had recovered from the lab related to the Wang Family.

After all, they had been recovered after the Yong Family lab had been destroyed.

Back then, they didn’t have all that much power and when the Yong Family was taken care of, it was done by Lin Fan alone. So it wasn’t as if he had been able to command that many people to gather all the information that he wanted.

Because the Yong Family had also offended people, that meant that there were people that wanted to take revenge on the Yong Family.

That meant that a lot of the property had been damaged because of it.

The Mu Empire eventually interfered since the Yong Family had quite the influence and obtained some of the things that were left over, but there were too many things that disappeared.

These few reports were the one of the few that had been saved.

Lin Fan had been going through them when he recognized a name, which was why he brought them out.

“This name…” Yue Lan suddenly said as she stopped on one of the pieces of paper.

Lin Fan gave a simple nod in response since this was what he wanted her to see.

Tucker.

That was the name that was on the piece of paper.

In the past, when they reviewed these reports, these names didn’t really mean anything to them. They didn’t think much of the Yong Family’s base since they just assumed that they had built that base with technology they had obtained from the other continent.

But it turned out that this wasn’t the case.

“You’re saying that this is related?” Mu Bao Bao asked in a serious voice.

Lin Fan just said with a simple nod, “If it happens once, it’s a coincidence. If it happens twice, then…”

Mu Bao Bao deeply knitted her brows as if she was considering this before suddenly saying in a heavy voice, “Then if it happens twice, it can happen a third or fourth time, right?”

Lin Fan didn’t say anything at first, but he eventually gave a nod of agreement.

Though judging by the look on Mu Bao Bao’s face, there was no need for him to give this nod.

The only reason that she had asked this rhetorical question was because it seemed like the right thing to do. It wasn’t because she had her doubts at all since she had long come to her conclusion.

After thinking this through, Mu Bao Bao suddenly stood up as if there was something that she wanted to do. However, Lin Fan had already expected this with what he knew about her, so he grabbed her hand to stop her before she could go anywhere.

Mu Bao Bao looked at him and there was a trace of a displeased look that appeared in her eyes, but Lin Fan didn’t let go.

He just simply said, “What do you think you can do if you were to rush them into action now?”
