Chapter 788: Dragon Form
Chapter 788: Dragon Form
Seren was happy this cold and mute Dragon was at least communicating.
As she was ready, once more he was ready to lift her in his arms.
"Wait! I can walk," she said. "Where are we going?"
In response, he held her hand, and they walked out of the room to go to the kitchen. Erebus had prepared a meal for her. It was the same as what Drayce would prepare for her.
Though different, they were still the same. He made her sit at the small dining table with two chairs and served her meal.
"Thank you," she said in delight, utterly starving to even wait. The aroma was delicious already.
As she had a few bites in a hurry, Erebus held her hand to stop her.
She looked at him in displeasure, only to find him responding with the same intense stare.
"Alright. I won’t choke. I’ll eat slowly," she replied, amazed at her own understanding of him.
Though one-sided, communication with him felt easy.
"Aren’t you eating?" she asked and held meat out for him to eat, thinking dragons might only prefer meat over vegetables.
Erebus ate it and accompanied her for the meal.
As she finished the meal and was content with it, she warned him, "I am not going back to the room, and I am not going to mate again. I want a break."
His brow creased in a frown, as if he wasn’t happy with her decision.
"What?" she asked. "You should be thoughtful. I am not a dragon, but a frail human in front of you. I need rest. You can’t go thinking about mating all the time. Think like a human, not like a beast. Be considerate."
He simply stared at her wordlessly.
It made her wonder, ’I hope I haven’t angered him, or he might truly take me back to bed.’
"I want to take a walk after the meal," she said and stood up. ’I better get away before he changes his mind. Beasts can’t be trusted. If he started now, I won’t be seeing sun until tomorrow.’
She walked out of the cottage without turning back. Outside, the greenery felt beautiful, and the view of the snowy mountain.
Erebus followed behind her, with distance between them as if not wanting to disturb her. His eyes followed her everywhere.
"I wish I could fly," she mumbled happily while enjoying standing against the wind coming from the mountains.
Just as she said it, she felt a shift in the air. And soon a huge shadow fell over the ground that even enveloped the place where she was standing.
With her breath stuck in her throat, Seren turned around, only to see a massive, yet beautiful red dragon in her view.
A huge and beautiful red dragon stood in all its terrifying magnificence, its scales shimmering like polished gems under the sunlight. Each scale caught the light differently, creating a dazzling display of deep crimson, molten gold, and flickering ember-like reflections, as if fire itself lived beneath its skin.
Its massive head was both majestic and fearsome, adorned with sweeping, curved horns that arched backward like a crown of power. The ridges along its face were sharp and defined, framing eyes that burned with ancient intelligence and quiet dominance.
A long, powerful neck connected its head to an enormous body, moving with a fluid grace that contradicted its sheer size. Every motion it made carried both elegance and overwhelming strength.
Its large, clawed feet pressed into the ground with undeniable authority, each step capable of shaking the earth beneath it. The talons were thick, curved, and lethal, capable of tearing through stone as easily as flesh.
It was not just a creature, but a living force of nature.
Seren was thrilled with the breath taking sight in front of her. She was seeing a dragon for real, and it was amazing. She realised she was so small in front of him like a small bug. His talon was bigger than her.
His red eyes observed her and he lowered his head in submission in front of her. She touched it, almost thinking it was nothing but a dream.
Just as she fingers touched the scales at his head, she said, "You are amazing....most beautiful beast I have ever seen..."
Soon the invisible power surrounded her. It lifted her in the air and made her sit at the perfect place where his neck joined the body. Her hands held on the small scales at the base to hold herself steady, but she didn’t need to give the power held her in place.
"Are we going to fly?" she asked, remembering Ember telling her how she rode Draven and Seren looked forwards to it as well.
In response, massive red wings opened and it took to the sky in one strong flight of the wing as he let out a roar that told everyone in the vicinity a dragon was flying so they would stay away.
Seren almost screamed as it was scary though thrilling but soon enjoyed it. They flew over the entire Kingdom, letting everyone below see a red Dragon in existence.
After her short dip and nap in the hot water spring, Erebus brought her back to the cottage. Just as he placed her on the bed, she warned him, "If you dare mate with me now...."
But Erebus had already turned around to go to the wooden wardrobe and pulled out a dress for her.
He didn’t even bother to ask her, as all her dresses were red, as per his own preference of what he would like to see his mate wearing, and those were mostly meant to be worn in the bedroom.
’Does he plan to keep me here all the time?’ Seren wondered. ’If so, only my soul will leave this cottage sooner or later.’
Without a complaint, she wore the dress, thinking at least he was letting her wear something.
Once seated in front of the mirror, she finally got the chance to see the bond mark. A violate blossom surrounding a red dragon.
Her fingertips brushed over it, a smile widened on her lips, "It’s beautiful," and looked at Erebus who was about to work on her long hair.
He looked at the mark and to her, and offered a nod.
"Will it hurt you say a word," she mumbled in compiling tone.
"Beautiful," he said, "Seren."
She was so happy to hear it, but content it. "Yeah, I am."
Erebus did her hair with ease.
"How do you know how to do a woman’s hair?" she asked, looking at him through the mirror. "I am sure no other woman you had ever been with."
"Mother," he answered.
He put forward his hand and a beautiful wooden hairpin appeared on his palm. Seren noticed it. "It’s beautiful. Where did you get it?"
In response, he looked at her silently.
Seren wondered what happened, but then said, "You made it?"
He offered a small nod.
"Oh. Thank you so much for your efforts," she offered him a smile.
