Chapter 1400: Chapter 1400: That Bastard Really Has No Humanity
Hadn’t he already told her to go back and wait? Why is she still so cold?
Could it be that that bastard Matthew Saxon has lost whatever little bit of gentlemanly manners he had and didn’t allow her to go back?
Knox Simmons quickly dismissed that thought.
Based on what he knows about Matthew Saxon, no matter how obnoxious he is, he wouldn’t be obnoxious to such a degree, right?
"Scarlett, I’m almost there. Where are you now?" Knox subconsciously slowed down the car, driving slowly while glancing outside the window from time to time.
He had a bad feeling.
That feeling was that Scarlett Yates did not heed his word.
The woman who promised him she would wait for him in a warm room did not really do as he said.
Thinking about this, Knox started to feel anxious.
If Scarlett Yates really didn’t follow his instructions, in this cold weather, wouldn’t she get frozen?
Thinking more about it made Knox feel a pang of distress.
That bastard Matthew Saxon actually left Scarlett outside by herself. Even if the weather weren’t so harsh, late at night like this, he hasn’t considered the inherent dangers?
If some shady characters passed by and saw her alone, they might have bad intentions.
These possibilities were clear to Knox; is it possible that Matthew Saxon hasn’t thought of them?
In conflicts and arguments between men and women, no one’s temper would be good. Anger flares up, and in moments of impulse, many irrational things can be done.
But from the time Scarlett Yates called him until now, almost an hour had passed; shouldn’t any anger have subsided by now?
Women are all like that; when they’re angry, you just go along with them and avoid arguments, then you can soothe them afterward, right?
A grown man, arguing with a woman over something like this, has no gentlemanly manner whatsoever.
It’s something that Knox Simmons would never do.
A beauty is there to be cherished and pampered, not to be hurt.
Knox cursed Matthew Saxon from head to toe in his mind, and while cursing silently, he continued searching outside the window.
After crawling along at a snail’s pace for a while, suddenly, his face changed. His long Peach Blossom Eyes fixed on a dark corner, not moving his gaze away.
His charming Peach Blossom Eyes stared at the spot, unmoving for quite some time, revealing a hint of surprise. After the shock passed, his expression turned to anger and distress.
Just as he thought, Scarlett Yates did not listen to him.
The small figure trembling in the corner, wasn’t she the Scarlett Yates he’d been searching for?
He could guarantee that if he hadn’t slowed down the car and focused all his attention on searching, he wouldn’t have seen Scarlett Yates.
At most, glancing over, he might assume it’s some stray cat or dog nestled there.
There are plenty of stray cats and dogs in the suburbs.
At this glance, Knox’s anger flared up rapidly.
This anger, however, was stirred by his distress.
Especially when he saw Scarlett Yates hugging her arms, curled up and shivering, his charming Peach Blossom Eyes were reddened by the anger. He stopped the car, slammed his fist onto the steering wheel, and cursed under his breath: "Damn it, that bastard Matthew Saxon is heartless."
