Chapter 1970: Cap 1965: Between nightmares and enemies…
“< Fire Origin Magic: Feathers of the End >” (Phoenix)
“< Chaos Breath >” (me)
My Breath attack burns with Starlight Fire as I defend against thousands of fire feathers launched at light speed towards me. Our two attacks create a shockwave that pushes him back towards his enemy; the shadowy creature extends a hand that grows into a claw, trying to reach him.
“Damn it!!!” (Phoenix)
Unfortunately, this also pushed me back, and that’s when Paradox appeared behind me, her bandages turning into spears that bent space to reach me almost instantly. She took advantage of the opening immediately.
“(Damn!)” (me)
I didn’t have time to do much, so I did something unexpected: I split my body in half as if it were just a cluster of blood. I’m in a mental world; my body takes the form my will desires, and my will is very strong.
The bandages passed right through without hitting me, and I smile at this nightmare copy of Paradox as I advance towards her, but before I reach her, she has already disappeared without a trace.
She fled just as I imagined. Since she has access to all my memories, she will also know that it wasn’t a bluff when I said I was capable of easily ending this nightmare, which is why she will never confront me directly.
This wretched creature will continue trying to ambush me with these surprise attacks, so my attention must be doubled.
Turning my face, I see that bird spreading a sea of flames in all directions; everything was burning in fire while the creature it’s fighting against advances towards it, smiling.
“Now!” (me)
“< Divine Law of the Eclipse: Summoning Talisman >” (me)
“< Blades of the Eclipse Threshold: Awakening >” (me)
The dagger and sword appear in my hands already in their awakened states, the power flows through me even better than before, in my mind there is no limitation, fatigue or any other impediment.
I even managed to hit that damned bird from behind, but its flaming body suddenly reversed direction, its body was completely ethereal, its flames burned as its face, which should have been on the other side, suddenly appeared looking at me.
Before I could do anything, its flaming beak was centimeters away from me, but I smiled at it as my body split into hundreds of parts that scattered, avoiding its attack as well as its flames, the sword and dagger also flying in various directions going straight towards its body.
“< Original Magic: Phoenix Chain >” (Phoenix)
“< Eclipse Magic: Blades of Judgment >” (me)
As soon as it was close, its body disintegrated and from the flames in the ruins below me, its body exhaling a turbulent amount of flames, but this was not as it expected.
The unknown creature appeared behind it and was using its entire right arm to form an energy sword that falls towards it at the same time as I swung the two blades in my hands.
Each blow left horrible marks on its body, even so it ignored my attack and instead focused on avoiding the attack that was coming from above, that nightmare creature of his was descending with that blade once more on top of him.
He dodges the blow and one of his wings unleashes a storm of flames wanting to incinerate the enemy, this blow was an opportunity for me and I advanced towards him.
“< Chaos Slash >” (me)
My two blades ignite with Starlight Fire as I lunge forward, aiming for his head from behind.
“You’ve fallen…” (Phoenix)
“Damn it!” (me)
Before I could do anything, 7 other flaming birds identical to the one I was attacking emerged from the surrounding flames, all attacking me at the same time.
He had been leading me into a trap all along using himself as bait; that bastard did it so well that he would have succeeded with anyone else.
“< 4th Art of the Eclipse Blade: World Devourer >” (me)
Since I returned to using a sword and dagger in combat, the star sword arts needed to be modified somehow, so that’s what I did. Until now, they were just ideas and theories on how to do it; I hadn’t been able to do any training or even put these theories into practice for testing, but fortunately, this is a mental space with conditions as perfect as my Will is capable of achieving!
The smile on my face widens as my cheeks tear open, giving way to sharp teeth, scales cover my body in a natural dragon armor while the dagger and sword in my hands transform as if containing Beasts filled with only a primordial instinct to devour everything.
RRRROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!
“< Jaws of the Eclipse: Consume >” (me)
A roar erupts within me, an overwhelming sensation of devouring arises within me, the blades in my hands strike the space where I stand, which soon tears open as if it were a great smile.
Endless teeth and infinite depth within, I always knew I wouldn’t be able to win, that’s why I was preparing this attack as a last resort.
“< Break >” (Phoenix)
“Thinking of running away!!???” (me)
Against all my expectations, that damned bird didn’t continue its attacks; its various copies burned like fireballs before all being pulled to the same place, reforming its body into a much more detailed bird form.
Crack! Suddenly, claws and fangs appeared non-stop, shattering the space in front of that damned bird.
The large mouth created by my technique released millions of tentacle-like tongues that swept towards the bird, which, without wasting time, was already passing into the broken space where multiple wild Auras emerged like a storm.
“YOU CAN’T ESCAPE!!!” (me)
“(Next time, I’ll have your head in my claws and I’ll force Paradox to appear!)” (Phoenix)
The tentacles followed him through the broken mental space, but seconds later the tentacles were shattered while the mental space trembled, causing a horrible pain in my head as an explosion erupted from inside the hole, closing the passage.
“Damn it…” (me)
I deactivated all power and looked around as my weapons disappeared, the large mouth closed below me and all that remained was a scene of ruins where that bizarre Dragon was flying above.
“You can appear, without him here I no longer need to keep you and there’s no way to escape either.” (me)
I smiled looking at that Dragon, its floating eye fixed on me as it decreased in size, once again taking on the appearance of Paradox.
“Are you going to destroy me now?” (Paradox)
“I don’t destroy, I transform…” (me)
“It’s a pity you won’t succeed~…” (Paradox)
While he was speaking, his Aura and presence changed, his behavior became strange while a sense of dichotomy arose everywhere, this was no longer a matter of fear, it was a change that even I wouldn’t be able to make, a fundamental change.
“Paradox, how long have you been in control of my technique?” (me)
“Since the moment it took on my form, twice.” (Paradox)
“So I was right, that dark thing that represents the Phoenix’s fear, it was you.” (me)
“Yes, but that doesn’t surprise me, my very existence will be his end, inevitable in every way, and he must have tried to prove otherwise in vain.” (Paradox)
“What surprised me was that you were afraid of me.” (Paradox)
“How could I not be afraid?” (me)
“I can’t do anything against you, now I know that no matter how much time passes or what happens, I can’t get rid of you!” (me)
“To fear what you don’t understand, a typical human error, something you no longer are.” (Paradox)
“I’ve already told you what I want from you, and when that day comes, I hope your fear disappears…” (Paradox)
“Here, keep your little pet…” (Paradox)
Saying that, she disappears, throwing something in my direction, and everything around me changes; the ruined city was repaired to look as it always had, and the same happened to the Orphanage that was destroyed by the Phoenix’s flames.
Even though I couldn’t deal directly with this nightmare, at least Paradox left me with what I needed. I look at my hand where a statue of a Phoenix being mounted by me was, it was quite an aesthetic touch to refine the Nightmare Dragon.
“Let’s see where you’ll run now…” (me)
Saying that, I let this small statue sink into my hand, then I descend onto the roof of the orphanage where I sit looking at what was appearing more and more, when everything was back to normal, I smiled slightly before closing my eyes.
———————–
When I opened my eyes again, I was in a different place, I was inside that place where the stars were the sea and the planets were the sky, but this time I was completely awake when I looked in a specific direction.
“Who are you?” (Me)
“I am the Entity of Commerce, also known as the Merchant… at your service.” (Merchant)
A paper airplane flies between the planets above before descending in front of me. It was the largest paper airplane I had ever seen, and as soon as it touched the sea of stars, it began to fold like a new origami, thus taking on a simple humanoid form.
Its form might be simple, but the presence it emanated was absurd beyond any comprehension, but fortunately, it doesn’t seem to be an enemy since it didn’t attack.
“What do you want?” (Me)
“Business, I’m only here for business…” (Merchant)
