Chapter 1968 1968: Cap 1963: You damned bird!!
“Who disturbs my sleep…!” (me)
I couldn’t understand why everything was burning, the planets that formed the sky were ablaze, and gradually the stars that formed the mirror of water also began to burn, columns of flames rose, connecting heaven and earth in a pyrotechnic spectacle worthy of Armageddon.
This was supposed to be a dream, within my mind, controlled by my Will, an extension of my power, of those I know, only my sister, who is a specialist in nightmares, and the Entities who can do almost anything would be able to invade my dream while controlling it at this level.
This put me on guard, but it also helped me to wake up a little; being inside a dream, my instinct tends to act more than my reasoning, but in the midst of danger, all potential is ignited, this is the same for all existences.
“Bearer of Chaos, I said I would come for you!” (???)
“Hide your voice and avoid appearing, your cowardice truly makes me fear…” (me)
I try to provoke her, just now it was a female voice, but it didn’t come from anywhere, even so, the hostility was clear, even so, it wasn’t a direct attack they made.
If it were me acting in the mind of an enemy, I wouldn’t have made all this fire spectacle or tried to talk to him, I would have attacked using the element of surprise, I don’t understand why they didn’t do that since I hadn’t noticed their presence until they showed themselves in such a scandalous way.
“(There are few reasons for this…)” (me)
1. They are trying to extract something from me.
2. They are using me as a secondary target.
3. They are acting based on an incomplete understanding.
4. They are trying to coerce me into doing something.
These are not the only options, they are just the ones my mind was able to think of at the moment, but they are also the most likely. I’ve had my mind invaded before, and I’ve also invaded the minds of some enemies, so I can make some assumptions based on my own experiences, but one thing is certain, this was an enemy.
The hostility was quite clear, there was no denying it, regardless of the options, I needed to bring this enemy into the light.
“I fear nothing, but I’m also not innocent enough to discard my cards.” (???)
“Hoo~~…” (me)
“So tell me, why are you in my mind, what are you looking for?” (me)
“Give me Paradox!” (???)
“Who!?” (me)
“I know the Original Entity of Chaos is with you, hand it over!!!” (???)
With its scream, all the flames intensified several times over. I still didn’t feel the heat, but I could feel something building up; it was my consciousness, mental energy, directly attacking my mind.
I tried to avoid this attack, I tried to repel its influence, but I couldn’t, it was too strong, it seemed like there was a wall around its consciousness.
“You know, I don’t know who you are, and I don’t care, but you really shouldn’t have come here…” (me)
Snap
“< Change >” (me)
I snap my fingers, and something more familiar appears in my mind, something I know in detail, something fundamentally important to me.
All the space that was previously in flames had disappeared; I had moved to another place in my mind, knowing I would be followed. I was in a memory, or more specifically, a place where many different memories and emotions converge, the Orphanage.
I was inside my room, standing and looking out the window before the fire reappeared, but it wasn’t incinerating everything; the clouds in the sky were burning, just as the lamps and candles were burning in flames.
“What’s wrong, can’t you burn down an old, big house? Where is that fire that burned entire planets?” (me)
There was no reason to fight against an unknown enemy; I didn’t know where to attack, I didn’t even know if it was just one enemy or if there were others hidden. That’s why I needed defense, I needed a fortress that could defend against its attacks, I needed time to think and act without being too pressured.
My mind may be mine, but mental power is not like other types of power; its functioning is too abstract and difficult to control, very much based on the fickle Will of the user, it responds much more consistently to memories and emotions, which is why this place that concentrates so many different memories and emotions was an insurmountable wall in my mind.
“You are intelligent, it’s no surprise that you resisted the chaos so much, unlike your predecessors…” (???)
“(How do I make him show himself…?)” (me)
“(Maybe…)” (me)
Suddenly his voice emerges from the flames once again; now I was beginning to understand that the flames were not just a way to scare, but a part of his power, and as part of his power, it must also be a connection between our minds. Reaching this point, I began to suspect the identity of this enemy.
“You know, I don’t care about you, your purpose, or anything else…” (me)
“I have my way of doing things, I taught many different people a lot, I’m proud of my creativity, but unfortunately I’m not good at everything; knowing theory and having the ability to put it into practice are different things.” (me)
“What are you talking about!?” (???)
“I taught Urd a technique; it was just a possibility that came to me due to an oriental game I played in my previous life, a game mechanic that took a lot of work to create.” (Me)
“Urd was exceptional in putting into practice the changes I suggested, unfortunately I wasn’t capable of that… at least not in my mind…” (Me)
The Talismans of Divine Law were a technique created by me, entirely theoretical, and one that I myself was unable to put into practice, but Urd did it with ease and even developed the technique as a central aspect of her power in a masterful way.
“< Divine Law of Chaos: Nightmare Talisman >” (Me)
My Ascendant Law is as strong as Urd’s and my Divinity has always been greater than hers, I don’t completely control either power, they are things acquired throughout my life and haven’t been fully mastered due to my rapid growth, even so in my mind it was much easier to make use of them.
With the Divine power becoming an ethereal paper and the Runes of the Law of Chaos being engraved on the paper, the stellar flames ignite while the paper radiated power.
“Do you think you can affect me without even seeing me?” (???)
“No, but I can affect myself and consequently, you will be dragged out of your hole!” (Me)
“< Activate >” (Me)
“!!!!” (???)
I gave up looking for him as soon as I saw the lamps and candles of the orphanage burn with fire, it was clear that he wouldn’t show himself and had made preparations to defend himself from me, so since I can’t affect him, I will affect myself.
The talisman in my hand transforms into a slender dragon with black bone spikes protruding from its back and ethereal wings, this dragon has no jaws or head, but has 6 legs and a long body, at one end of its body an ethereal eye floats with a pupil emanating purple light.
This Dragon emanated a white and purple light that spread in all directions as it vanished into the heavens, unimpeded by walls or ceilings, passing through everything as if it were a ghost, its body rapidly growing until it filled the sky.
Its white and purple light transformed the climate and the land; the orphanage changed, its structure aging, cobwebs appearing and dark corners multiplying everywhere. Outside, the city became a desert of ruins amidst a perpetual night with that macabre Dragon above.
The flames that were once in all the light sources have now been extinguished as a chilling cold spread like a winter breeze.
“What have you done!?” (???)
“I created a nightmare and dragged you into it.” (me)
Just as I expected, while everything transformed into scenes from a horror movie, this bastard could no longer hide from the changes his technique was also undergoing, and from within the city a column of flames rose, a bird covered in flames rising from that column of fire with its aura emanating fury towards me.
“You damned bird!!” (me)
“Bearer of Chaos, you fool!” (Phoenix)
It flies towards me, carrying these city ruins in a sea of fire as if it were hell, but at least this time I understood who the enemy was.
“You still don’t understand?” (me)
“This is a nightmare, in this place it’s not power that counts, but FEAR!!” (me)
With my words as if they were an omen, the bizarre Dragon above turned its eyes downwards, two columns of white and purple light surrounded me as well as that damned bird.
I felt a shiver down my spine, and looked behind me, my mind was shaken, a creature appeared, it had the appearance of a person covered in a hooded cloak, only one of its hands was covered in ethereal silver bandages, its aura was strange to the point of being incomprehensible, and as soon as it appeared it was as if everything around it began to deform with it as the center.
“You’ve done well so far, Zenos… but why are you afraid of me?” (Paradox)
“I’ve always been with you~…” (Paradox)
