Pov Urd:

I was inside Urak’s prison; seeing her pathetic and mistreated appearance wasn’t pleasant. I didn’t like seeing her like this, I didn’t want to see her like this, but I can’t deny that this is still a light punishment after everything that happened.

“Can you hear me?” (me)

“…” (Urak)

I look at her, my attention no longer focused on her appearance but on her inner self. I can see the energies moving inside her, I can see the reactions in her Aura, and I can also see the thing moving inside her body, squeezing her organs, scratching her muscles, and striking her bones.

It was horrible. I thought Zenos was only torturing her mentally; I didn’t think he would be doing something so brutal at the same time.

“Let her speak!” (me)

“No…”

“Don’t force me to use my power…!” (me)

“You have no power against me, anything you do will be transferred to this repulsive bitch.”

I try to pressure this thing to stop, but it refuses without hesitation. Soon, a dark gray Aura rises from Urak’s body, taking on a faceless, genderless, and hairless feminine form, possessing only the most basic silhouette with body curves very similar to Urak’s.

I wanted to stop this torture, I needed to talk to Urak, show her her mistakes, try to redeem her heart for the sake of 89. Her current state was deserved for everything she did, but she wasn’t the only one suffering.

Even though 89 doesn’t understand, he feels something for Urak. I can’t say if he sees her as a mother, however inconceivable that may be, but there was still that possibility, or at least something like seeing her as his creator.

He suffered a lot in the past, and this time I made him suffer again. I put the good of this universe above his well-being, even though I didn’t do anything remotely close to what Urak did to him in the past, I can’t deny that I made him suffer again, and therefore I need to at least alleviate the burden on his heart. “Stop this torture and free her mind!” (me)

“No.”

“Did Zenos ask you to do this!?” (me)

“I need to talk to her, at least stop while I’m talking to her!” (me)

“My master only ordered her mind to be tortured, but Lady Lena and Lady Cortana thought that wasn’t enough.”

“I am an incomplete being, I exist for the good of my master and I must fulfill his will as well as that of his daughters.”

“I am his daughter! So why don’t you obey me!?” (me)

“You are one of his daughters, but you are not acting for his benefit, you are acting in favor of his enemy, following the orders of Ladies Lena and Cortana, I should not listen to your commands when they are to alleviate the prisoner’s punishment.”

“…” (me)

I didn’t expect the Twins to have made this move, I heard how enraged they were about the Ascendants, but I didn’t expect it to be this much.

“So you came…” (Lena)

“Lena!” (me)

“I received a warning as soon as you gave an order to stop the torture.” (Lena)

“Why did you…” (me)

“Please, stop.” (Lena)

Suddenly Lena appears behind me, her body was emitting a calm aura and vitality that even warmed my heart, her presence is like that of a new, immaculate world full of life, natural and beautiful in its essence.

I wanted to talk to her, to make this stop, at least not to see it being done while I’m here, I also need to think about 89, I need to alleviate one of her concerns, but as soon as I started to speak, I was interrupted by Lena who stopped beside me looking at Urak.

“I understand you’re worried about her, but this woman is responsible for something unforgivable. If I were to list her crimes, I’d have to talk for centuries. You, better than anyone, should understand this.” (Lena)

“This punishment is still light; if it were up to me, it would be much worse, so don’t try to argue with me. Even if it’s you, I won’t let this pass.” (Lena)

“At least let me talk to her!” (me)

“Is this about 89?” (Lena)

“Yes, he’s looking for her. I don’t think he understands the reason for it, but there’s affection for her in his heart. He even wants a name given by her.” (me)

“Even if his love is distorted, there’s no denying that she was the only one to show any kind of emotion towards him.” (Lena)

“I’ll let you talk to her, but the torture won’t stop, and she won’t wake up either.” (Lena)

She extended one hand to me while extending the other hand to the gray creature. I didn’t ask anything and just held Lena’s hand as her energy flowed through my body. I didn’t resist and felt my mind being pulled.

Soon my eyes looked around. I was no longer in that cell; now I was in a dilapidated room watching a thin woman cutting off the last two fingers of a hand to throw into an earthenware pot with some water and a few leaves. In the corner of the ruined room was a thin child who could barely keep his eyes open.

“Did you come to repudiate me!?” (Urak)

“Urak…” (me)

Suddenly I looked back. Urak’s body was covered in wounds, and tears streamed from his eyes. His aura was full of endless sadness, as well as a hint of warm emotion—it was love.

“(Is this what Zenos wanted to achieve…?)” (me)

“I came here to talk about 89.” (Me)

“…” (Urak)

The expression on her face changes completely for a second, changing three times in quick succession. First, it seemed to show hope, then it fell into extreme pain with a very sorrowful expression before she covered her face with her hands for a few seconds before showing a calm appearance again.

“What do you feel for 89?” (Me)

“You know the answer to that, we know you could peek into our minds.” (Urak)

“But I want to hear it from you.” (Me)

“I love him, born of my flesh, blood, and intelligence, the fruit of a lifetime’s effort, for me he has always been more important than my own life.” (Urak)

“Then why did you never give him a name?” (Me)

“…” (Urak)

My question seemed to have hit a sensitive point, but before I could continue questioning, the woman who was cooking her own fingers in food was already feeding the child with her remaining hand while sweating profusely from the pain.

Crack

Soon the entire space shattered, but what emerged after that was much worse. We were in the midst of the stars, there were endless battles in the surroundings, but two battles were larger at their highest points, space was cracking and rifts were opening, it was a brutal situation.

This was the battle against Hate, the fight that just ended, these were the battles I participated in, and it was at this point that I appeared trying to repair the universe to stop the collapse.

“Deteriorating the power of reality… fragmentation of the Laws… accelerated Universal collapse… central control clearly inoperative…” (Urak)

“The universal core… has it been destroyed…?” (Urak)

“You were….” (Urak)

Urak’s eyes scan everything and everyone before stopping at my figure sitting in the middle of space trying to control the situation. Urak’s expression seems to pale more and more before she starts screaming.

“Wait! Wait, wait!!” (Urak)

“Where is he! Where is my son!!!” (Urak)

Urak entered a state of panic. For me, and perhaps for her too, this scenario was exactly like a real one. I could even feel the Ascendant Laws being destroyed, the universal membrane breaking, the power of reality draining away, and my Aura trying to reorganize the Flow of Laws to stop the collapse.

Urak had witnessed many universal collapses and even caused many herself. She understands this well, not to mention that she was the mastermind behind the artificial transformation of this universe, as well as the one who implemented the universal network that connects this universe to all the others conquered by the Ascendants.

She was one of the three leaders who created, implemented, and controlled the Flow of Laws for thousands of years. Just seeing all this was enough for her to realize what was happening and she must have been able to guess what I did next.

Not to mention that all the scenarios that appear to her due to the curse are of mothers and children; in this situation, her mind went straight to him.

“…” (me)

“NOOOOOO!!!!” (Urak)

Just as had happened before, I summoned 89 and together we managed to stop the Universal collapse, sealing the cracks in the Universal membrane and, with a little help, repairing the rifts in space while simultaneously normalizing the Flow of Laws.

Of course, it showed 89’s decision to continue even when at his limit, it showed how much he struggled and suffered before collapsing, but that didn’t seem to matter to Urak.

She was frantic, her mental state was in pieces, her emotions in total disarray as she screamed. That’s when Lena appeared beside me and Urak disappeared.

“What did you do?” (me)

“What you wanted, I helped her.” (Lena)

“How was that helping her!?” (Me)

“She’s been on the edge from the beginning, she’s seen many mothers doing everything for their children in situations ranging from simple to impossible, but her mind and heart were resisting, she admired these mothers and yet didn’t see herself as one of them, it was having the opposite effect of what Zenos intended, which was good since it would increase the time she spent going through this.” (Lena)

“But you wanted to help 89 through her, that required the process to be faster, she needed to forget her own pain and guilt to completely surrender to the love for her son, destroy her mind and way of thinking to rebuild her mind taking as an example what she learned from all these mothers.” (Lena)

“But why do it like this!?” (Me)

“Why all this suffering! That face of despair…! I… I…” (Me)

“Why does she deserve to suffer, she doesn’t even deserve this, we’re being too lenient with her, so don’t complain since thanks to this she’s very close to reaching the correct point.” (Lena)

“When she leaves this room in a few days or weeks.” (Lena)

“Zenos’s curse will also be greatly affected by this, both by the torture and by the destruction and reconstruction of her mental state.” (Lena)

Snap

Lena snapped her fingers and we were out of Urak’s mind, she was on the floor writhing, blood leaking from her eyes while her face was frozen in an expression of pure horror and despair.

“Leave this place and don’t come back until she’s ready.” (Lena)

“…” (Me)

I couldn’t argue, what was done was done, there was no going back, she was no longer in a condition to talk, all I could do was wait and so I left that prison helpless knowing that I had failed.

“(I’m sorry 89, I couldn’t do better than this…)” (Me)
