“I want to go back to sleep…” (me)
I couldn’t understand why things always have to be so troublesome. I just woke up, I don’t even understand my current condition, and already I have to deal with a dam of shit breaking.
Sigh
“Someone fill me in…” (me)
“I want candy!!!” (Layla)
“Come on, Layla… I’m busy.” (me)
“Never mind, give me CANDY!!!” (Layla)
“This little pest… have a slice of cake.” (Me)
“Cake!!” (Layla)
She stole the cake from my hands. The slice of cake was bigger than her body, so her body sank more than halfway into the cake, and her wings trembled as she ate.
“Where did you get the cake?” (Ibuki)
“It’s been stored for two months in my storage ring, don’t worry, it has preservation magic.” (Me)
“Now someone explain to me what I lost.” (Me)
——————–
40 minutes later.
I was dressed in loose clothes, my body was a little stiff, and I also felt that my body was different. Everything responded more easily. It seemed like there was no delay between my thoughts and my will to my body. I felt as if everything in me was closer together.
It was strange to feel this way, but there was more to it. I turned to Urd, who was giving orders to a thin man with brown hair tied back in a ponytail.
“Accompany Davoth and Nala, don’t let them pass the barrier.” (Urd)
“Yes, Mother.” (???)
The boy raised his hand, and countless laws converged around him before disappearing. I didn’t know who he was, but it was clear he was a manipulator of the Ascending Laws. The strange thing was that he didn’t have wings.
“Urd!” (me)
“You woke up, thanks to… you…?” (Urd)
“Stop joking, how are things?” (me)
“The Envoy of Callidora is operating in region D764 of the universe. He has prepared several rituals and is currently stationary, but a flow of miasma from two-thirds of the universe is being drawn there, far from the control of the Laws.” (Urd)
This abrupt change is strange. He seems to act like a show host. It was more than clear he was providing entertainment. It’s no wonder Callidora chose him to act here.
Precisely because he’s an irreverent host who burns with the flames of limitless entertainment, it makes no sense for him to make such a big move out of nowhere.
Gathering all the participants in one place, putting on such a spectacle that even the System and Merchant are serving to distribute news—that’s a big move worthy of a breather or the end of the show. He wants to end on a high note.
“(I have to keep that in mind.)” (me)
“Forget about this Callidora Envoy, we still have almost two days to think about him, so let’s focus on the Ascendants.” (me)
“What are they doing here?” (me)
“Asking for help.” (Urd)
“…” (me)
“You’re kidding me, aren’t you?” (me)
“No, they seek this for many reasons, but among them, your curse seems to be eating away at them from within.” (Urd)
“Urak and Mavor are present, all weakened.” (Urd)
I remember the curse I placed on the Anomalous Armor; it seems to have perfected itself just as I intended, in fact, even better than I imagined, if it managed to infect the two leaders.
“Then why didn’t you attack them?” (me)
“…” (Urd)
“I see, you don’t want to kill them.” (me)
“I heard your words from before; it seems Davoth disagrees with your decision.” (me)
“No, but even he has to understand. I need to think about what’s to come after all this. There will be hundreds of years of hard work and thousands of years of continuous work before the situation stabilizes.” (Urd)
“I need every Ascendant I can get; after they’re reborn, they’ll be as innocent as newborns.” (Urd)
“You know this won’t work.” (me)
“But it must. No future will be built on a sea of blood, regardless of who’s guilty.” (Urd)
“Sometimes logic doesn’t work in reality. Feelings are too volatile and lack logic. You must understand that.” (me)
“You want to kill them too.” (Urd)
“Me? No… killing them wouldn’t be enough. I planned to do much more than just kill, but it seems I won’t have time for that.” (me)
“…” (me)
“…” (Urd)
We looked up at the sky at the same time. What we saw there was a pair of gray wings passing through the sky, leaving a trail of broken space in their wake.
“What was that?” (me)
“Something took all the Ascended, only one remained behind.” (Urd)
“Who?” (me)
“Urak, it seems she moved first and escaped like that.” (Urd)
“But what was that?” (me)
“I don’t know.” (Urd)

Pov Vecna:
I was filled with rage, but she wasn’t here anymore. From the beginning, she wanted to provoke me, and in the end, she succeeded. The more time passes and the more time I think about it, the more my anger only grows.
To be used is to be discarded like this, to be used as amusement for others, to know that what I once considered the masterpiece of my creation is actually the fruit of another’s power—I cannot accept this, I can accept anything but this, because it would be the same as acknowledging that I have accomplished nothing through my own ability, that all study, calculation, and effort thus far have been in vain.
“Just as my lord said, such fine material will be perfect.” (???)
“(Who is it this time?)” (me)
“Surrender to hatred, embrace it, and wield it as your Soul, may your existence be a curse, and your weapon spread hatred.” (???)
“< Ritual of Origin of Hatred: Stigma of Origin >” (???)
“With this, you will never become an Avatar of the Curse; your state will forever be incomplete, and your hatred will flourish until there is no other emotion left but it.” (???)
“The more hate, the more power, the greater the Stigma, and from it your weapon will be born. Wield this weapon and descend upon those who treat your universe as a backyard where they can do whatever they want.” (???)
“(Hate, isn’t it…?)” (me)
“(I really needed something to balance the Concept of the Curse in my body. It will also be easy as long as my consciousness is protected. Its power won’t have the effect you expect…)” (me)
I observe the effects the power of Hatred has on my body. Even though it’s an Entity, it underestimated me. Rationality has always been an essential part of me.
I can’t observe it from outside my body, but I can see what it’s doing to me. The Concept of Hatred was quickly spreading to the parts the Curse’s power hadn’t touched, which were less than 10% of my body, and soon spread to my Soul, taking over the 35% that hadn’t been touched. The two powers were far from balanced, but it still serves my purposes.
As long as I’m not completely dominated, I can’t be enslaved. As long as I return to my place, I can use the power of Mavor’s Law of Creation to replace parts of my body or even my entire body. If I have a body free from their influence, I can simply seal my Soul to stop them for good.
This would leave only that Bringer of Chaos with control over my Existential Spark, but if I get my hands on the same power and use it to forge a Law of Chaos, I can try to combat her using the same power.
“(I need Zenos!)” (me)
Hatred spread easily through my body and Soul, much more easily than the power of the Curse. The pain in my body and Soul also quickly subsided. As my cup finished transforming, a new pair of wings appeared on my back, and my eyes opened.
“This is better than I expected. There was already a lot of accumulated hatred. Your transformation was also less bestial than I expected.” (???)
“I know you still retain your Consciousness, so pass through this portal; you will quickly reach the borders of your universe.” (???)
My eyes remain on the portal, but I don’t enter immediately. I take one last look at the one standing in front of me. It was a man finely dressed like a scholar, his appearance unlike anything I’d expect from an Avatar of Hatred.
“What’s in it for you?” (me)
“Does it matter? You’ll go one way or another, because if you don’t, I’ll kill you right here.” (???)
“!!!” (me)
His presence alone left me frozen in place; not even my Ascendant Laws circulated my body, and I only returned to normal when he withdrew his presence.
“Now go.” (???)
“…” (me)
Not being in control of the situation was unpleasant, but I will embrace every opportunity that presents itself. With my intelligence and knowledge, I will find a way out, just as I always have.
——————–
I arrived in front of my universe’s dimensional membrane and, without wasting time, threw myself inside.
As soon as I landed, I was at the top of a volcano. The Ascendant Laws around me were a comfort, but then I looked at my situation. My wings had turned gray and doubled in size, as had my body, which had grown to nearly 3 meters. There were also two energies constantly circling my body, colliding; it was unnerving and uncomfortable.
That was when a notification appeared in front of me. This was the first time I had experienced this. Before becoming an Ascendant, we were never touched by the system, and after becoming Ascendant, we were excluded from the System as well as from the natural order. Even so, I heard detailed accounts from multiple universes about their interactions with the system.

I can take advantage of this situation. With this power of mine, I can manipulate both Concepts along with my Laws, strengthening the Ascendants as a whole.
I connected to the Ascendant link and, through a wounded Ascendant, discovered what those two were trying to do. I couldn’t tolerate it. One of the energies, the power of Hatred, pulsed and let it spread through my body. I used this extra power to guide it toward a specific purpose.
“< Ascendant Law: Ascendant Invocation >” (me)
One of my wings grew, breaking through the space to seek them out.
