Chen Wen furrowed his brow slightly and asked Gaston, "That seal, does it seem like anything is wrong with it? Or any unusual behavior?"

Gaston shook his head, "Apart from coming over here to roam about, everything seems normal."

"I see."

Chen Wen clicked his tongue, feeling a bit disappointed; he originally thought the seal might have something out of the ordinary about it.

Like maybe it was a special kind of animal.

But now it appeared to be just a mischievous creature that accidentally wandered here.

"Alright, well then, there’s nothing much to say. Once Roland and Fred return, let’s store up the food and hunker down for the winter!"

Chen Wen held onto his bowl of food, a look of anticipation on his face.

Amidst the icy landscape, with abundant food, a warm shelter, and animals and friends for company.

Surviving in this kind of place is practically like being on vacation, isn’t it?

Seeing Chen Wen’s expression, everyone else started to look forward to it too.

Adam even reflected, "After working at such a high intensity for so long, it’s really time to enjoy ourselves!"

Unlike other teams.

After Chen Wen had resolved the food issues, their team didn’t rest for a moment, busy all the time, building shelters, storing food, crafting small tools...

They’ve been operating nonstop.

And naturally, that hard work paid off; for the coming bitter winter, Chen Wen’s team wouldn’t need to be busy anymore.

They could completely stay in the shelter and peacefully get through the remaining survival time.

...

As Chen Wen and others were anticipating the days ahead.

Over with the animals.

Golden Eagle approached where Wuwu was, followed by two Wolf Minks and a somewhat listless Snowy Owl.

Wuwu treaded on a layer of floating snow, eyes filled with expectation.

It spoke to Golden Eagle, "Are we going to act together?"

Golden Eagle flapped its large wings, "Yes, you’re joining too. With me leading, our hunting squad is rock solid! Even more reliable than Chen Wen’s squad!"

That remark made Snowy Owl chuckle twice.

Though not entirely disdainful, Golden Eagle could still feel its friend’s slight snub beneath the humor.

Golden Eagle thought for a bit and said, "Cough, cough, maybe not as reliably as Chen Wen, but still quite reliable. You follow King Kong and Calabash."

King Kong and Calabash observed Wuwu, radiating friendliness.

Though friendly as they were, King Kong still felt a bit uneasy inside.

This fellow seems a tad more dangerous than Big Orange, doesn’t it?

Big Orange seemingly hasn’t ventured outdoors yet, while this one is practically raised in the wild, best be cautious later.

King Kong thought.

The animals chatted away and started advancing into the forest.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the phone, Mira watched Wuwu go off with a group of peculiar animals, feeling somewhat incredulous.

What’s happening?

How did Wuwu end up running off with those animals?

That Golden Eagle she saw in photos seemed to be Chen Wen’s trained beast.

But what about that bird that really looks like Hedwig’s? What sort of ghost is that?

Is it also Chen Wen’s beast?

And those two dark, bear-like creatures, what kind of animals are they?

Why do they seem so menacing?

And how come Wuwu trusts them enough to leave with them?

Mira wondered, pulling out her phone to contact her most trusted caretaker, the man in sunglasses.

The other party saw the message and said to wait a moment.

A short while later, he sent over a set of video clips.

Mira frowned, opening one of them.

In the video, an Asian man appeared in the center.

It was Chen Wen!

This was footage of Chen Wen’s solo wilderness survival challenge; in the visuals, Chen Wen was leading Wolf Mink King Kong on a hunt.

Indeed, it was also Chen Wen’s beast!

Closing the video, Mira was about to ask the caretaker what the purpose of sending these clips was.

But the caretaker sent a message: "Miss, these are all the available videos of Chen Wen and the animals interacting. He seems to have a knack for understanding animals’ thoughts, many feel as though Chen Wen communicates directly with them."

"I also inquired with various people from his field, some animal experts, and numerous wildlife photographers, and their views on Chen Wen are consistent — he’s a miraculous and enigmatic person, but his affection for animals is absolutely genuine!"

Looking at the message, Mira was thoughtful.

And the caretaker continued, "Therefore, I believe, Miss, you don’t need to constantly watch Wuwu’s situation. Chen Wen will certainly take good care of Wuwu, and given this person’s mysterious nature, his ways of interacting with animals are not meant for outsiders to see, so it’s best you retrieve that phone and don’t constantly monitor the situation there."

Upon seeing these messages, Mira thought for a moment and replied, "Okay, but I noticed he placed the phone in Wuwu’s nest, so it shouldn’t bother him. I just want to occasionally check on Wuwu."

The caretaker paused for a moment but still responded, "Alright, Miss, but do refrain from interfering with Chen Wen, this person is rather special."

Mira replied with an affirmative.

She set down the phone. The screen showing Wuwu’s nest was now completely vacant.

A bit bored, Mira picked up the phone again, idle engagement though it was, and began watching Chen Wen’s survival videos, keeping an eye for Wuwu.

...

Out in the wild.

A quick group of animals soon arrived at the pica’s burrow initially discovered by Golden Eagle.

With a gleam of excitement in its eyes, King Kong was all set.

It had a liking for those burrowing creatures, the ones that freeze when danger approaches, not moving a muscle.

With powerful claws and even some skills at play, King Kong was practically a living excavator; its burrowing speed incredibly rapid.

With pica’s relatively shallow burrows, King Kong didn’t take long to dig them out.

"Heh heh, I can already smell the food!"

King Kong exclaimed enthusiastically.

Having been at camp these days, munching on wild boar’s innards and some dried food, fresh meat had been missing for days.

Calabash was in the same boat.

But being female, its disposition was more reserved and shy.

Thus, it didn’t express it as outwardly.

Yet King Kong declared with confidence, "No need for you to get involved later, I’ll hunt for you. We’ll split it when the time comes!"

Calabash nodded appreciatively, "Okay, I’ll help you then!"

Perched atop a tree.

Golden Eagle tilted its head, watching King Kong, then cocked its head to glance at Calabash.

It couldn’t help but ask, "What’s up with these two? Are they..."

Upon hearing this.

The already perceptive Snowy Owl chuckled softly.

Casually, it said, "You haven’t had a wife before, have you?"

Hearing this, Golden Eagle’s face darkened, irritably saying, "Don’t talk about that!"

"Alright, alright, I won’t say."

Snowy Owl chuckled cheerfully, "These two obviously like each other, though their notion of liking is a bit different from ours."

Having had a spouse and kids before, but those were killed by mercenaries.

Nonetheless, Snowy Owl was experienced — no, an experienced bird.

It clearly understood the two Wolf Minks’ situation!

These two were definitely falling in love!

Though not very overt in their display.

Listening to Snowy Owl’s account, Golden Eagle observed the two Wolf Minks with interest, also curious deep inside.

For unique animals such as them, what would a romance look like?
