Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1107: Wuwu's Arrangement
Chapter 1107: Chapter 126: Wuwu’s Arrangement
On Chen Wen’s side.
He could deeply feel the enthusiasm of the Russian people.
Especially after he helped Arseny land Mira’s order.
The way these Hunters looked at Chen Wen, their eyes were practically glowing.
Chen Wen sat upright in the main seat, while Boris was loudly hollering something as he took out a bottle of liquor.
To be honest, Chen Wen didn’t recognize the brand, but the triangular bottle shape gave him a bad feeling.
This thing… it can’t be that legendary vodka, right?
Right after, under Chen Wen’s gaze, the young Hunter who had launched the drone earlier came over carrying a pile of ice cubes.
Judging by this, they were planning to drink it on the rocks.
How did that saying go again?
Baijiu with ice, the more you drink, the younger you get.
Younger in the purely physical sense!
And when Chen Wen saw the Hunter whose leg had been clamped bringing over two heavy wooden barrels, he understood he probably wasn’t walking out of here today.
Sure enough.
Chen Wen didn’t wait long before Arseny came over with a big pile of food.
There were hot dishes, hot soup, and a large variety of snacks to go with the alcohol.
Chen Wen even saw some pickled autumn white salmon, and of course, the must-have pickled cucumbers of Russia.
Pickled cucumbers and vodka.
The golden duo of the drinking table had both made their appearance.
Arseny wasn’t the long-winded type. After saying a few simple words, he raised his voice and said, “Let’s raise a glass to our great benefactor—Mr. Chen Wen!”
Amid a burst of cheers, everyone lifted their glasses, and with Boris’s enthusiastic urging, this group of Hunters all clinked glasses with Chen Wen in turn.
The lively dinner ended quickly.
Using the excuse that he had to head back tomorrow, Chen Wen refused Arseny’s attempts to keep pouring. Arseny didn’t push him, just clinked one glass with Chen Wen.
As the banquet wrapped up, Arseny pulled Chen Wen along to arrange his lodging for the night.
Chen Wen followed Arseny up to the second floor of the bar. There, Arseny cleared out a room for him. It looked like it had been the Hunters’ old rest room; the interior layout was very much in the Hunter style.
Chen Wen also spotted a very familiar bear hide.
He walked over to take a closer look and found that it was exactly the pelt of the brown bear he had once killed and returned to Arseny.
“This guy has now completely turned into a coat.”
Arseny looked at this bearskin coat, his eyes full of emotion.
As for that brown bear that had injured him, you could say Arseny’s hatred ran deep, so he decided to have the hide made into clothing.
After the two of them chatted a bit, Arseny said, “Tomorrow I’ll take the boat and send you back. I’ll also bring this batch of supplies for you. You can deliver them over there, and also—”
Arseny paused, then carefully asked, “That Northeast Tiger, are you planning to just take it straight back too?”
Chen Wen nodded.
Arseny thought for a moment, then said, “Let’s hope your training is effective, otherwise that little girl later is going to have her hands full.”
Chen Wen didn’t really get it, but he didn’t ask further.
…
After a night passed, the next day, Chen Wen, Arseny, and two men who looked like bodyguards sent by the sunglasses guy all headed to the dock.
Mira and the sunglasses guy didn’t come.
Chen Wen thought about it and didn’t ask. Maybe the girl didn’t really want to experience the feeling of saying goodbye.
He, Arseny, and the Hunters together brought the Northeast Tiger Wuwu back onto the boat.
Chen Wen sat on the boat and set off on the return journey.
Soon, the group left the town and came out onto the wide expanse of the lake.
Looking at the white lines on the distant lake surface, a trace of emotion flashed in Chen Wen’s eyes. “The lake is freezing over, huh!”
Hearing this, Arseny also looked into the distance. He nodded and said, “With this weather, as soon as we get another cold snap, the lake surface will be completely frozen. By then it’ll be snow season.”
Chen Wen nodded slightly at that.
This also meant that this survival run was entering its final stage.
Next, all they Survivors needed to do was endure the harsh winter.
As the traces of human activity around them grew fewer and fewer, it also meant they had returned to the wild.
Arseny checked the map and directed everyone to head for shore.
Before long, Chen Wen and the others were back at the place where they had first found the Northeast Tiger’s paw prints—the spot where Gaston had been fishing.
But to Chen Wen’s surprise, Gaston didn’t seem to be fishing.
He was wondering about it when he saw a man with a dead look in his eyes trudging over carrying something.
Looking closely, it was Gaston!
The guy had a Siberian Roe Deer slung over his shoulder and seemed to be muttering something under his breath.
When he saw what was going on over here clearly, Gaston froze.
He quickened his pace, saw Chen Wen, and instantly perked up.
With a thud, he dropped the Siberian Roe Deer he was carrying. His eyes were full of frustration and delight at the same time—overall, extremely complicated.
Then he strode quickly over to Chen Wen, patted Chen Wen’s shoulders up and down, confirming that he wasn’t injured.
Right after that, he suddenly gripped Chen Wen’s shoulders and said excitedly, “You came back at just the right time! I’m handing this guy over to you!”
As he spoke, Gaston pointed at the Siberian Roe Deer on the ground and couldn’t help complaining, “The game you and Hua Yun brought in left me with zero time to fish, and the worst part is, they made me handle all the guts by myself!”
Chen Wen hissed through his teeth. “No way, then what were they doing?”
At that, Gaston said in a gloomy tone, “Hua Yun was worried about you, so she left camp this morning with the Golden Eagle, said she was going to see where you were. That bastard Adam is working on the hides, and he’s also drying meat.”
Chen Wen shook his head. “Looks like I really did come back right on time. Come on, let’s go tell Adam to stop drying meat. Once we process this meat, we can just store it inside the cabin. The temperature’s already dropped. Soon this place will turn into a natural giant freezer. As long as we keep it ventilated, the meat definitely won’t spoil!”
Those words moved Gaston quite a bit. He was about to say something.
Chen Wen patted Gaston’s shoulder. “But your work still isn’t going anywhere. I’m only at ease if you’re the one handling all these animals’ innards!”
The corner of Gaston’s mouth twitched. He looked like he wanted to say something, but when he saw Arseny and the others coming down behind them with the supplies they were hauling, and that cage covered with black cloth.
In the end he said nothing, resignedly picked up the Siberian Roe Deer, and prepared to go deal with it.
Because he could guess that whatever Chen Wen had brought back was probably even more of a headache!
Behind them, Arseny watched this scene with a cheerful grin, and gained a clear understanding of the relationship between Chen Wen and the others.
“So, shall we keep going?”
Arseny asked Chen Wen.
Chen Wen nodded. “Keep going. I’ll bring people along and work with you. Oh, and you can take the black cloth off now.”
Hearing that, one of the men in black beside the cage yanked the cloth away.
The Northeast Tiger Wuwu was back in a place it was familiar with.
And just then, Gaston happened to walk past the side of the cage and caught sight of the beast, and nearly flung the Siberian Roe Deer straight into the air from fright!
He stared and blurted, “Wh-what the hell! Why is this thing being brought here!”
One of the Hunters next to the cage burst out laughing when he heard that. “Not only is it being brought here, it’s going to be living with you long-term!”
Gaston was even more confused. He couldn’t help but look at Chen Wen, but Chen Wen just waved a hand. “It’s a bit complicated. We’ll talk about it later. You get back to work; we’re heading to camp.”
With that, Chen Wen left without looking back.
