Chapter 578: Chapter 365: Finalizing the Deal, Aid Plan (Part 2)

"Ah, Your Highness Prince Bobo Man, we have our orders from His Majesty the King. We can’t just speak freely."

The speaker’s voice was cold and hard, with a texture like grinding granite.

Bobo Man glanced up at him. He was a Mad Lion Person of a relatively slight build, but his muscles were exceptionally lean, and his expression was dead serious.

He was, with that same serious expression, holding a delicate Mad Lion maiden, his hands roaming freely over her.

Bobo Man knew the man’s personality; he didn’t joke around. He got straight to the point. "Enough of this. Just tell me, what’s Gang Sasi like? Can he be trusted? I have a batch of Defensive Soul Artifacts that are about to be finished..."

’Good grief. A Deep Sea Person asking a Mad Lion Person about a Steel Elephant Person’s character. That’s a new one,’ Han Ning silently snarked while listening to the live broadcast from a toilet stall.

The Mad Lion People in the hall exchanged glances upon hearing this. Then, one with the head of a hyena spoke up.

"He’s a decent young fellow. You can trust him. His tribe is currently facing off against the Flame Boars on the front lines, aren’t they? Do you have some collaboration with him?"

Bobo Man grunted in affirmation. "Hard to say. Maybe we’ll work together... Since you say he can be trusted, I can rest easy."

"Mm."

Having gotten his answer, Bobo Man spoke to Han Ning.

"You heard that conversation, right? The one who spoke is a prince from the Gray Dog Tribe with real authority, ranked fifth among the Barbaric Beasts. His words carry a lot of weight. You can trust what he said."

"Your Highness Prince Bobo Man, are you coming with?"

"Duh! Why else would I have come here with you?! Wait for me. I’ll be about an hour."

"Understood. Thanks. See you later." Han Ning nodded, threw a few words of praise Bobo Man’s way, and hung up the Fat Silkworm phone.

「...」

When Han Ning returned to the living room, the siblings Steel Ka’er and Gang Lifen were listening with rapt, dumbfounded attention as Lin Tianhe went on and on with a silver tongue.

Their eyes were glued to the large-screened phone in Lin Tianhe’s hand.

"Little Kaikai, look. This is the camera function. All you have to do is press this button, and you can easily take pictures of things in your everyday life. You can pull them up and look at them whenever you want."

"Of course, besides still photos, you can also record moving pictures. See? This is a video I shot of Soul Beast training."

"!! It’s so magical! What other functions does it have?" Steel Ka’er’s eyes glowed, her little nose twitching in excitement.

"The functions are endless..."

The Priest, Gang Sasi, had clearly not arrived yet.

"Ahem."

"Big Brother!" Gang Lifen immediately stood up to greet Han Ning the moment he saw him.

"Brother Han Ning, what’s your decision?" Steel Ka’er reluctantly tore her gaze from the phone screen, staring intently at him with her big, innocent eyes.

"Of course I’m going with you all." Han Ning smiled and settled in to wait for Gang Sasi.

While they waited, he used the Fat Silkworm phone to report his current whereabouts to his companions on the other continents.

The Fat Silkworm phone used the body of the All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm as a psychic relay, allowing precise communication with every Fat Silkworm clone within a 100,000-kilometer radius. Thanks to this, the Tri-Race Alliance didn’t have to worry about communication issues for the time being.

An hour later, Bobo Man rushed into the inn where he had arranged to meet Han Ning.

About two more hours passed before the Acute Angle at Steel Ka’er’s waist suddenly emitted a faint, blood-red glow.

She stopped playing with the phone, hopped off her stool, and called for everyone to follow her. They all headed toward the eastern outskirts of Lion City.

Out of respect for the Mad Lion Tribe and to prevent malicious attacks, Beast Masters from other races were forbidden from summoning Soul Beasts stronger than Monarch Level within the city limits.

The stars were sparse in the night sky. In an open area outside the city’s eastern gate...

...crouched a gigantic, silvery-white Mammoth the size of a small hill.

The colossal Mammoth’s entire body was covered in fine, silvery-white plates of armor. Two sharp, curved horns grew from its head, and a pair of tusks taller than the city gate itself curled upward, gleaming with a cold, brilliant light.

Even just crouching on the ground, it stood thirty meters high.

Under the Starlight, its silvery-white Armor seemed to flow with a light like liquid mercury.

"It’s not a pureblood Holy Steel Mammoth. It has some Metal Giant Dragon in its bloodline. Those menacing curved horns are clear proof."

Bobo Man deduced simply, craning his neck to look up at the Mammoth.

Looking rather reluctant, Steel Ka’er led Han Ning and the others toward the base of the Mammoth.

As they drew closer, they saw a Steel Elephant Person leaning against the trunk of a large tree, staring blankly at some animals running in the distance. He was at least two and a half meters tall, with bronze skin and a long, silvery-white elephant’s trunk.

"Steel Ka’er, you little brat! You disappear for so long, your father and I thought the Flame Boars had caught you to render you down for oil!"

The moment the hulking Steel Elephant man saw Steel Ka’er, he stretched out a hand bigger than a casserole dish and made a grasping motion through the air in her direction.

A whistling, silvery-white blast of air surged forth, forming an overbearing elephant’s palm that yanked Steel Ka’er’s delicate Body in front of the big man.

"Let me go! Let me go! Gang Sasi, you’re so rough, you’ll never find a wife!" Steel Ka’er’s face turned red as her delicate little feet left the ground, kicking and flailing in midair.

"Hmph. So disrespectful." Gang Sasi curled a finger and gave Steel Ka’er a light flick on the head.

In an instant, a big red lump swelled up on her forehead.

’...Are all Steel Elephant People this violent...?’

Han Ning thought about it from their perspective. Even if his own niece ran away from home, he couldn’t imagine having the heart to give her a lump on the head.

But he couldn’t judge the Steel Elephant Race’s constitution by human standards. For all he knew, this was just their usual way of showing affection.

"Don’t you get cocky, Gang Sasi! One day I’ll defeat you with my own two hands and beat your head till it’s covered in lumps!" Steel Ka’er’s face was flushed, and her small, silvery-white trunk instantly turned red-hot with anger.

"..." The mild-mannered Gang Lifen stood to the side, trembling.

"Oh! And you, Gang Lifen! Spit it out, why did you sneak off with Steel Ka’er without reporting to the tribe?!" Gang Sasi snatched up Gang Lifen and gave him a heavy smack on the head as well.

"I... I..." Gang Lifen clutched the large lump on his head. He looked at Steel Ka’er, then at Gang Sasi, and chose to keep his mouth shut, enduring the pain in silence.

"I can’t be bothered with you two," Gang Sasi snorted, casually tossing Steel Ka’er toward the Mammoth. "Ying Xue, keep an eye on her."

The Mammoth gently lowered its head and nudged Steel Ka’er’s body with the side of its trunk, shoving her straight into a pile of dirt. She didn’t pop back out for quite a while.

"And who are you? Friends of Steel Ka’er?" Gang Sasi’s gaze finally landed on Han Ning. His tone wasn’t as rough as it had been with his niece. He gestured politely for Han Ning, who stood at the front of the group, to approach.

"He’s a guest I invited! Gang Sasi, you’d better not bully him!" A pale head suddenly shot out of the dirt pile, shouting at Gang Sasi.

"Oh? A guest?"

Gang Sasi paused, a faint smile spreading across his face.

"Steel Ka’er, is this pretty-boy from an Alien Race really your boyfriend?"

"Bullshit! Of course not!" Steel Ka’er’s face flushed red. She pulled herself out of the dirt with a POP, like a turnip being plucked from the ground, and trotted over to stand between Gang Sasi and Han Ning.

"Brother Han Ning i-is a potion merchant from the outside... And you must at least know of His Highness Prince Bobo Man!"

Steel Ka’er pouted, pointing at the Octopus Head perched on Han Ning’s shoulder, hidden beneath a white cloak.

She then explained to her uncle what she and Han Ning had discussed.

Only now could Han Ning, who had been watching the uncle and niece bicker with great interest, finally get a word in. "That’s right, Lord Gang Sasi. My name is Han Ning, and I am a Beast Master from the Xia Race."

Gang Sasi grunted in acknowledgment and shook Han Ning’s hand, though most of his attention was fixed on the Octopus Head, Bobo Man.

He offered Bobo Man a polite smile. "I have long heard of the renowned Bobo Family. To meet Your Highness Prince Bobo Man in person today... you are every bit as wise and mighty as the rumors say!"
