Chapter 489: Chapter 321: Marquis Fengling 2
The Giant Whale’s eyes shifted. Light glinted at the tip of its horn as a jet-black pillar of water reformed, aimed at the falling figure, and shot forward.
"You dare!"
But just as the water pillar was about to smash the man to pieces, a melodious, ethereal voice boomed like a sudden clap of thunder, ringing in the ears of everyone present.
WHOOSH—
A gale roared.
The entire white stone tower was enveloped in a dense, cyan light.
A pillar of light shot toward the sky.
A slender figure, wreathed in a storm and shimmering with a dazzling cyan light, appeared high in the sky and waved a hand forward.
Before her, a Cyan Jade-colored figure materialized, shaped like an angel or perhaps an elf. Tiny blue sparks of electricity danced around its body. It extended its hands, which were made entirely of Wind Elemental Particles, and nocked an arrow to a bow.
In an instant, a Longbow made of highly compressed wind formed in the crook of its arm. It took aim at the towering waves and released the bowstring.
BOOM!
A tempest surged. The slender, cyan Arrow tore through layers of space, trailing a brilliant serpent of lightning that ripped across the firmament, illuminating the astonished faces below.
The Arrow, carrying immense momentum, pierced the thousand-meter-high wave.
KRRRACK—
The uniform wall of water was suddenly covered in a dense web of cyan cracks.
A torrent of dazzling, blue-white electricity surged from the cracks. Like countless electric serpents, it slithered across the giant wave in all directions.
In a flash, the Arrow transformed into a fine mesh of electricity, actually freezing the collapsing wave in midair.
A meteor, trailing a long comet’s tail and streaked with dazzling wind and blue lightning, broke through the clouds and sped northward.
The meteor was brutally fast. In the blink of an eye, it reached the falling black dot, caught it, and the streaks of wind shattered, revealing a young woman in a cyan-blue dress, a delicate Bow and Arrow on her back.
"Oh? So you’re Marquis Fengling of the Witch Spirit Race—Irena?"
A deep, rough voice boomed from the crest of the wave. Everyone focused their gaze and saw a towering man from the Deep Sea Race standing on the Giant Whale’s head. He was at least three meters tall, his body covered in strange tattoos.
His voice, laced with a trace of Spiritual Power, carried clearly to everyone’s ears.
"If it’s just you alone, I’m afraid you don’t have the strength to stop my sky-swallowing wave."
As soon as he finished speaking, five ferocious phantoms of Sea Beasts emerged from within the deep blue wave.
The Water Element in the air gathered on the wave’s surface at a terrifying speed.
More than half of the electric net holding the wave in place vanished in an instant.
"Who are you?"
Marquis Fengling, Irena, cradled the bisected body of the Witch Spirit youth with one arm and responded with a frown.
Hearing Irena’s words, the towering man’s face showed a flash of anger. The ferocious Giant Whale tattoo on his chest glowed blood-red, and his height grew continuously until he became a ten-meter-tall giant.
"I am Chaojing, Grand Commander of the Deep Sea Race’s Red Manta Race!"
Chaojing roared:
"You of the Witch Spirit Race! Surrender His Highness Prince Bobo Man at once, and my Deep Sea Race will immediately retreat to the Celestial Sea! Otherwise... even if it means the Southern Four Islands are destroyed, we will exterminate every last one of the Witch Spirit People!"
"I don’t know any Prince Bobo Man. If you wish to tear up the treaty, then come." Irena slowly shook her head, her tone sincere.
"Bullshit, you damn woman! You were offered a toast and chose a beating instead. If that’s how it is, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
"Do you really think this is still the territory of your Witch Spirit Race?"
Chaojing’s expression was grim. His dark eyes instantly transformed into two high-speed, swirling maelstroms, making him look like a god of ocean currents.
He bent down and slammed his hand heavily on the head of the Giant Whale beneath him.
HROOOOOM—
A deafening whale song echoed across the sky.
The electric net shattered completely into sparks of light, and the massive wave crashed down toward the ground below.
Irena’s expression was grim. She said nothing more.
The cyan-colored maiden made of the Wind Element in front of her pressed her palms together.
Instantly, a circular, cyan Light Array spread out in all directions, enveloping the Southern Four Islands in the blink of an eye.
"Here it comes. The Storm Division’s Gale Domain."
Hom’s eyes glinted, a hint of pride on his face.
At his side, Sage reminded them, "Han Ning, Cang Tong, feel it carefully. This is the most iconic Elemental Domain of our Witch Spirit Race. Any Soul Beast of the same Attribute within the Elemental Domain will have its power boosted dramatically for a short time."
’Although she’s called Marquis Fengling,’ Han Ning noted, ’she controls not only the Wind Element, but Thunder as well.’
’The Wind and Thunder Dual Extremes enhance each other, allowing her to release Soul Techniques at an astonishing speed.’
’The color of Wind Elemental Particles is somewhat similar to Wood Elemental Particles. The former is lighter and almost transparent, while the latter is deeper, leaning toward emerald green.’
Irena’s expression was grim. She said nothing more. The exquisite Bow and Arrow on her back trembled ceaselessly, the bowstring emitting a sharp hum.
With a CLANG, a flash of blue-cyan light appeared in her hand, materializing into a large bow half as tall as she was.
"The Thunderous Shadow Flash Bow... I can’t believe the Storm Division’s Sacred Artifact is in her hands," Hom murmured to himself, a nostalgic look in his eyes.
The body of the cyan-blue bow was engraved with intricate, two-toned Runes.
Blue-white lightning flickered erratically around the bow’s body.
"Go!" The Light Array at the young woman’s feet pulsed. Streaks of wind scattered as she nocked an Arrow formed from the interweaving Elements of Wind and Thunder. It shot out, pierced the giant wave, and instantly slowed its descent.
’So powerful... The Spiritual Energy in her body is probably on par with any Monarch Soul Beast. How does she do it...?’ Han Ning could perceive things other Beast Masters could not.
