Huang Lingyu knelt on the cashmere carpet of the suite in the Xinyue Hotel, her fingertips hooking a pair of disposable slippers. Yang Hui’s ankle felt warm in her palm.

Yang Hui had drunk quite a bit tonight, and the delayed effects of the alcohol were making him dizzy. Huang Lingyu was putting the hotel’s slippers on him.

"Run the water... I want to take a bath."

He issued the command from the sofa, but this time, Huang Lingyu didn’t obey. Instead, she said softly, "You can’t take a bath when you’re drunk. It’s bad for you. I... I’ll help you to the shower."

After speaking, she saw that Yang Hui seemed to have fallen asleep on the couch. She thought for a moment, steeling herself. Her fingertips hooked the hem of Yang Hui’s T-shirt. After helping him take it off, she moved her hands to his belt.

Yang Hui probably never imagined he’d be stripped bare like this. Fortunately, Huang Lingyu was doing the same to herself. She had him drape his arm over her shoulder and helped him into the shower.

Water streamed from the showerhead. Her collarbones were half-hidden in the steam as she worked up a lather in her hands and spread it over Yang Hui’s body. Gradually, Yang Hui became more conscious, the drunkenness seemingly washing away down the drain.

The warm, yellow wall sconces dyed the room a cozy amber. Huang Lingyu helped him back into the bedroom. She could tell he was sober now; otherwise, his aim wouldn’t have been so impeccably precise.

The moment she helped him lie down, he gave a sudden tug. Huang Lingyu lost her balance and fell on top of him. He hadn’t expected her to be so light.

Suddenly, rain began to fall outside, pattering against the windowsill. And on the soft, large bed, Huang Lingyu’s legs were stretched out straight, the arches of her feet flexed...

A fierce gust of wind blew past, weaving the slanted rain into a net outside the window. The weather had turned in an instant.

「The next morning, in the living room.」 Huang Lingyu had one of her straight, snow-white legs propped on the back of the sofa.

The rain had stopped, and the sky had cleared. Yang Hui was sitting on the sofa, holding Huang Lingyu with one hand on her plump bottom. "Lingyu, next time we go out, bring your school uniform."

Knowing what he wanted, Huang Lingyu’s face flushed red. She’d thrown out her school uniform ages ago; there was no way she still had it. But not wanting to spoil his fun, she decided to search online for a replica of her old high school uniform.

Near noon, Zhang Chun called. He knew Yang Hui had drunk too much the previous day and was calling to check on him.

Yang Hui had long since worked that small amount of alcohol out of his system through various... channels. After chatting casually with Zhang Chun for a bit, he suddenly remembered something and asked, "Brother Chun, President Tian got promoted. Who’s taking his place? Is it someone I know?"

"Forget you not knowing them, I don’t even know them. They weren’t in our system before, a ’parachute hire,’ you could say. I only know her name is Zong Lan and that the Chairman personally appointed her."

Zong Lan. He remembered President Tian mentioning the mysterious Zong Clan. "Is she from the main branch of the Zong Family?"

Zhang Chun laughed. "The main branch wouldn’t be interested in a slice of the commercial real estate pie. But she must be a member of the clan. Us outsiders can’t dig up any details. I’m afraid only the Chairman knows the full story."

On impulse, Yang Hui opened Baidu on his phone and looked up the name of the Xinyue Group’s Chairman. Sure enough, his surname was also Zong. The Group CFO was also a Zong. The CEO and some of the vice presidents, however, weren’t all named Zong.

’Of course, not everyone with the surname Zong is necessarily a member of the Zong Family. This person has such a powerful background. I wonder if she’ll be easy to get along with. If she’s really an insider from the Zong Clan, Brother Chun’s ability to manage her will probably be very weak.’

Zhang Chun seemed to guess what he was thinking and laughed heartily. "A Hui, don’t you worry. No matter who comes, our support for you won’t change. If you have any problems, just come directly to me or President Tian. Of course, after President Zong arrives, I also hope you two can have a good working relationship."

’That’s a must. Although Zhang Chun is good to me, he’s so high up and has so much to do. I can’t go running to him for every little thing. That would be completely disrespectful of his position. The regional general manager is a figure of real power here, and maintaining a good relationship with them is crucial for my business.’

"When President Zong gets to Qingzhou, I’ll pay her a visit."

He had just ended the call when Yang Na called. The alcohol had worn off, but after a night of intense battle, Yang Hui was still a bit dizzy. He lay back down, resting his head on Huang Lingyu’s snow-white thighs, and answered casually, "Yang Na, what’s up?"

"Boss, from the sound of your voice, it seems like you’re out fooling around."

Yang Hui knew she was just trying to bait him. He cleared his throat. "Don’t be ridiculous. I’m a very proper person."

The room was very quiet, so Huang Lingyu could occasionally hear what Yang Na was saying. She couldn’t help but wonder which beauty was on the other end of the line this time.

"You mean you’re spouting nonsense with a straight face." Hearing Yang Na’s retort, Huang Lingyu couldn’t help but let out a snort of laughter before quickly covering her mouth.

But Yang Na had heard it. And the voice was clearly not Shen Meng’s. She ground her teeth. "Boss, go ahead and play around. Just be careful you don’t wear yourself out."

What an audacious thing to say. Yang Hui felt like he’d been caught in the act. He chuckled awkwardly. "Get to the point."

He wasn’t the one getting worn out; it was Huang Lingyu who was chafed raw.

Yang Na knew business came first. As for her boss’s philandering, she hadn’t just learned about it today. Back when they were at Ruijing Commerce, he had hooked up with plenty of people.

Regarding the NLB and Zen projects at Sanyang Xinyue Square, Yang Na had arranged for engineering staff to coordinate with Sanyang Xinyue Square a couple of days ago to schedule a site survey. After the staff contacted the mall’s leasing manager, Zhao Rui, he said they could do the survey this morning.
