Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?
Chapter 294 - 210: Inspection and Guidance (3)
Zhu Jing found it surprisingly simple how these two conducted business. What should have been a complicated affair became straightforward because they were both transparent and considerate of each other’s needs.
Wang Qing was quite impressed with what Yang Hui said. He had been worried Yang Hui would insist on terms no more favorable than those from Xinyue Square, especially since Yida Department Store’s industry standing was a far cry from Xinyue Square’s. On the other hand, the specific street-front shops Yang Hui wanted were much more valuable than the stores at Xinyue Square.
"A Hui, let’s go with a 10% commission. We’ll waive all other miscellaneous fees. And when you run promotions, I’ll have the store match the level of support Xinyue Square gives you. I’m also hoping we can break some records in the first few days of the opening."
"Don’t worry, Brother Wang, we definitely will. For the grand opening, we’ll transfer our most experienced core employees over. It’ll be much better than when Xinyue Square first opened with all new staff. Plus, the customer traffic here is much higher than at Xinyue Square. I’m sure we’ll break the record."
He declined Wang Qing’s invitation to stay for a meal. ’Lunch with just Zhu Jing would be so much better. What’s the fun in having another guy around?’
He and Zhu Jing picked out two outfits for her classmate, Feng Yan, at the NLB Store. Of course, he paid for them right there in the shop. He was planning to visit Wenren Du’Er that evening to apologize.
"Boss, would you like me to take you to the apartment I share with Xia Jie? I could cook lunch for you at home."
After they left the NLB Store, Zhu Jing seemed to muster all her courage to say it. Yang Hui’s eyes lit up. "Of course! Eating out every day isn’t exactly healthy. Let’s go to your place. You can cook something up, and I’ll be sure to savor it."
As soon as he said it, he saw Zhu Jing’s face turn beet red. She turned her head to the side, a blush spreading all the way down her neck.
He didn’t know why she was blushing, but after thinking about his words, he realized what happened—she’d likely mistaken his word for "cook" with a homophone that meant "lewd."
"Zhu Jing, I was talking about cooking, not... being lewd."
It would have been better if he hadn’t said anything. His explanation left Zhu Jing at a complete loss for words. She wasn’t an idiot; she’d just had a momentary lapse and hadn’t processed it correctly at first. After a second, she’d realized what he actually meant. Him spelling it out for her now just made things even more awkward.
When they arrived at her apartment, Zhu Jing turned on the air conditioner in the living room and told Yang Hui to sit down and rest for a bit. She started to head to the kitchen to cook, but he called her back.
"Here, come here. Cooking can wait. I need to conduct an inspection first."
’An inspection?’ Zhu Jing’s mind flashed back to that day in the VIP lounge, to his surprise attack while she was on the massage chair—how he’d gotten straight to the point. It was utterly mortifying.
She slowly walked over to him. He grabbed her small hand and pulled her down to sit beside him.
"Zhu Jing, that time in the VIP lounge... did I hurt you?"
"Ah—" Zhu Jing was so ashamed she immediately lowered her head. ’How can this man be so wicked? Asking if I was hurt... *there*.’
"N-no..."
"Then you probably didn’t check properly. Let me take a look for you. I took medicine as an elective, so you could say I’m a semi-expert."
’As if she’d believe that.’ He was smiling so wickedly right now that Zhu Jing didn’t dare look him in the eyes. Although she had guessed something like this might happen when she invited him over, his brand of wickedness was a novel thrill, leaving her feeling both helpless and overcome with a delicate shyness.
Like a beautiful water lily, Yang Hui lifted her into his arms, nuzzling his nose against her neck and inhaling. "You smell so good."
Zhu Jing wrapped her arms around his neck as he laid her down on the sofa.
Yang Hui hadn’t expected Zhu Jing’s slender frame to contain so much energy; she was even more incredible than Liu Shasha.
When his hand slipped under the hem of Zhu Jing’s floral-print skirt, the sensation was different from their time in the VIP lounge.
Zhu Jing suddenly remembered a joke Han Ya had once told her.
Yang Hui lightly smacked her bottom twice, making Zhu Jing squirm uncontrollably.
Yang Hui was suddenly reminded of Liu Shasha calling him "Boss" during one of their roleplays. Zhu Jing looked exactly the same right now. Liu Shasha had also called out, "Boss," her hair in disarray.
This encouragement from his subordinate thrilled him even more. He thought about that "display standard" he and Liu Shasha had played with, but it was obviously impossible to get Zhu Jing to try that now. A young woman like her could never be as uninhibited as someone like Liu Shasha, who had years of worldly experience.
But her current state was also stunningly beautiful, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he should give her more of this "training" in the future.
