Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?

Wenren Meng came over and picked up Mr. Yang’s clothes, including his underwear. The masculine scent lingered around her, and she immediately felt her cheeks flush. This wasn’t the first time she had washed Yang Hui’s underwear, but she couldn’t help but blush every time.

Wenren Du’Er’s bedroom door suddenly slid open. "Auntie, I want some honey citron tea."

The sudden noise startled Wenren Meng, who was lost in her thoughts. Her hand trembled, and something fell out of Yang Hui’s jacket pocket.

"What’s this—" Wenren Du’Er bent down and picked it up.

First was a receipt. Picking it up, she saw it was a check-in slip from Xinyue Hotel, which listed the room number, a QR code, the Wi-Fi password, and other details.

"Auntie, looks like Dad got a hotel room with someone today," Wenren Du’Er, wise beyond her years, whispered to Wenren Meng.

Then Wenren Meng looked at the ID card in her hand—Yang Bing. ’Hmm, she really is a beauty,’ she thought.

"Huh?" Wenren Du’Er snatched the ID from her hand. "How could it be Teacher Yang? Her ID card is here with Dad’s things... Does that mean—"

She and Wenren Meng exchanged a look, realizing there could only be one explanation: the woman had gotten a room with Mr. Yang that afternoon and accidentally left her ID behind.

Wenren Du’Er whispered, "No wonder Teacher Yang has always been so nice to me. No wonder she kept talking about making a home visit. So that’s why... When you love someone, you love everything connected to them."

The next morning, Wenren Du’Er had already left for school by the time Yang Hui got up. The parent-teacher conference was scheduled for after 4:20 PM; the students would be dismissed before the parents arrived.

"Mr. Yang, this is the ID card you had in your pocket yesterday."

Only then did Yang Hui remember the ID card left behind by that beautiful woman, Yang Bing. He took it from her, thinking he’d call a local courier at the office to have it delivered.

Since it was Monday, he had to take care of some things at the office that morning. As it happened, he got a call from the Mercedes-Benz dealership telling him his car was ready to be picked up today. The timing was perfect. He was used to driving, and not having a car was a real hassle.

Just then, Zhu Jing hurried over and whispered, "Cai Miao looks ridiculous today. He’s actually wearing sunglasses at the office."

Yang Hui smiled. He knew exactly why. ’That punch probably did a number on his vision. But more importantly, with his eyes swollen like that, he wouldn’t dare show his face without sunglasses.’

But he didn’t tell Zhu Jing what happened yesterday; he wasn’t one to gossip. Zhu Jing added, "Boss, you’re a real beast."

The phrase felt strangely familiar to Yang Hui. After a moment, he realized—wasn’t that what Liu Shasha had shouted yesterday? ’She really picked that up perfectly,’ he thought. He sat up, leaned back in his chair, and narrowed his eyes slightly. "What, exactly, are you referring to?"

"Zen’s performance! I saw the sales report Xia Jie sent out. Over 600,000 in sales in just two days over the weekend. That’s not a store, that’s a gold mine!"

’Oh—so that’s what she meant,’ he thought. ’And here I was, thinking she’d heard about my *other* talents from Liu Shasha.’ He waved his hand dismissively. "That’s nothing. I’ll have to show you where I’m *really* a beast sometime."

Zhu Jing didn’t understand his insinuation. "Oh," she said. "I look forward to seeing more of your strengths soon, Boss."

Yang Hui looked her up and down. ’This girl has no idea that when I get going, I don’t distinguish between subordinates and... others. Liu Shasha has already put me through hellish training, running all sorts of war games.’

"I’ll make sure you see it soon enough." The two of them were talking completely past each other. Zhu Jing, oblivious to what he was implying, just smiled sweetly and said, "I’m moving in with Xia Jie after work today. You should come over this weekend! We can make you dumplings."

"OK, no problem." ’A perfect opportunity to check in on my subordinates’ lives,’ he thought. ’It’s what a good leader should do.’

"Oh, right, Zhu Jing. Mail this to the address on the ID card."

"What’s this?" Zhu Jing took it and saw it was an ID card. She glanced at the photo; it was rare to see an ID picture look this good. ’The woman herself must be gorgeous,’ she thought.

"There’s no phone number. Should I just mail it?"

Yang Hui grunted in agreement. "I found it and don’t have any contact information for the owner. The address is in the Qingzhou suburbs. Just mail it and see what happens."

’I’ve run into her twice at the entrance to the complex, so she probably lives here,’ he mused. ’But maybe not. It’s plausible she was just here on business, arriving in the morning and leaving in the evening. I don’t know if this address will even reach her. But if not, well, she can always report it lost and get a replacement. This is the most I can do.’

After Zhu Jing left, he tidied up his desk, preparing to head to the Mercedes-Benz dealership to pick up his car. He still had the parent-teacher conference to attend that afternoon.

「In Li Yang’s office.」

Dan Biao and Wang Xiao stood before his desk.

"How about the operations manager candidates we interviewed last week? Are any of them willing to join us?"

Wang Xiao and Dan Biao exchanged a glance. Dan Biao spoke up, since as the operations director, any new hire would report to him.

"President Li, one of them is from Huasheng Commerce. He seems capable enough."

"In that case, Wang Xiao, give him a call. Have him start as soon as possible. I’ll make the final decision on which brand he’ll manage. Alright, you’re dismissed. Dan Biao, you stay."

He rubbed the small of his back, which still ached from yesterday’s kick. ’Lucky I protected my face,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, I’d be showing up to work in sunglasses just like Cai Miao, and I can only imagine the gossip that would start.’

Dan Biao was on pins and needles, assuming Li Yang was about to chew him out over NLB’s weekend performance. Sales had been steadily declining. Having Zhang Li oversee the store wasn’t helping at all; in fact, the staff’s insubordination was getting severe.

He, too, had seen Zen’s sales report: 600,000 in two days. ’Absolutely monstrous,’ he thought. ’How could they pull off numbers like that in this market? If you didn’t know any better, you’d think we’d gone back a decade to the days when customers would mob a store on opening day and buy up everything in sight.’
