Chapter 147: Chapter 147: True Dragon Technique

"Life Track Grafting?"

Lance was puzzled.

But before he could ask,

the sound of chaotic footsteps came from ahead.

The three Kobolds at the head of the pack were already lunging toward him, brandishing their long spears.

This forced Lance to swallow the words on the tip of his tongue.

Lance now stood like a wedge, firmly planted at the entrance to the shallows.

To harm Cecilia, they would have to get through him first.

Facing the first wave of attacks from these grunts,

Lance had no intention of backing down.

The muscles in his right arm tensed in an instant. His five fingers curled into a claw, and with a whistling gust of wind, he brought them crashing down on the dark-scaled face of the foremost Kobold.

[Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style - Flame-Splitting Claw]

SQUELCH!

It was accompanied by the dull sound of shattering bone.

With the terrifying combined effect of his two Specialties, Lance’s five fingers were now as sharp as a sword’s edge.

The hard scales offered no protection at all.

He crushed the small, slightly protruding horns on the creature’s head, shattering its entire skull.

The Kobold died on the spot, without even a chance to scream.

Lance noticed the system panel showed no reaction.

It turned out that inside this historical Projection Space, the fake Demons he killed weren’t counted toward his Biological Research progress.

This minor detail indirectly confirmed one of Lance’s earlier suspicions.

The so-called "Biological Research" was just a pleasant-sounding name the system panel used.

Its true core Effect was not nearly as simple as just studying biological traits.

The system panel seemed to be able to forcibly extract something from truly dead creatures.

’If this theory is correct...’

’...then what does the research on Sub-human Species like Half-Elves on the panel actually entail?’

Lance was suddenly filled with questions.

However, the battle raged on, leaving him no time for deeper thought.

He put his strength into one arm.

Gripping the dead Kobold’s shattered skull, he used the corpse like a great hammer of flesh and blood, swinging it sideways with all his might.

He smashed it viciously into the other two Kobolds that were trying to flank him.

The immense force of the impact sent the two Kobolds flying, and they crashed heavily into the water of the shallows.

"What a disgrace to Dragon Descendants."

Lance said, watching the Low Level Demons struggle in the mud.

Meanwhile, Witch Elisya, floating in mid-air, had witnessed Lance’s ferocious and domineering fighting style.

Her rosy lips parted slightly, and a trace of astonishment flashed in her bright eyes.

’Is that... an unarmed Specialty?’

As a top-tier Caster, she had a keen eye.

She could tell at a glance that the moment the young man attacked, his arm was treated as a sharpened blade.

And this direct and straightforward Combat Stance felt exceptionally familiar.

’Such a domineering and utterly unreasonable style of close-quarters combat.’

’It’s just like that Giant Dragon...’

The fierce battle didn’t pause for the Witch’s astonishment.

The two Kobolds that had been sent flying by the corpse were just struggling to get up from the muddy water.

At that moment,

a massive, brownish-gray Gnoll sprinted out from the Monster Group behind them.

It mercilessly stomped on one of the Kobold’s heads, using the leverage to launch itself high into the air.

With its claws extended, the Gnoll’s thick forelimbs whistled as they tore through the air, swiping viciously at Lance’s head.

The power of this mid-air strike was astounding.

But at this moment, the color of Lance’s pupils underwent a strange change.

His once pitch-black pupils slowly turned Dark Gold.

However, this was not the same as the vertical pupils he had when he activated his Dragon Form.

His pupils still retained their round, human shape.

This was precisely the new Talent he had just obtained from the Goblins.

[Eyes of the Young Dragon (Green)]

This Talent activated spontaneously in the face of an enemy’s attack.

And the very moment his pupils turned Dark Gold,

the pouncing Gnoll’s movements seemed to slow down in his special field of vision.

These eyes captured every muscle contraction and the direction of every skeletal exertion with perfect clarity.

The perceived danger plummeted in an instant.

Facing this attack from the sky, Lance advanced instead of retreating.

Following the trajectory captured by his eyes, he calmly leaned forward just as the sharp claws were about to graze his ear.

This tiny movement caused the Gnoll’s fatal claw strike to miss, only grazing his black hair.

Then,

like a beast more ferocious than his opponent, Lance slammed directly into the Gnoll’s chest.

He held the fingers of his right hand tightly together, straightening them until they were like an indestructible spear.

[Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style: Dragon-Slaying Spear]

Imbued with terrifying Penetration Power, his right hand pierced through the Gnoll’s fragile jawbone without resistance.

His fingertips tore through flesh and bone, bursting out from the back of the Gnoll’s neck in a spray of hot blood.

Lance’s arm muscles bulged.

As if tossing away trash, he flung the heavy, twitching corpse far into the nearby Jade Star Lake.

A large splash erupted.

And the instant he tossed the corpse aside,

a massive Lizardman that had somehow circled around to his flank appeared.

A huge, heavily scaled tail whipped toward Lance’s waist with a terrifying whistle.

Perhaps it was a frenzied effect brought on by his Dark Gold Dragon Pupils,

but Lance felt as if the blood in his body had been ignited and was boiling madly.

An intense desire for battle pounded at his senses.

His current state could even be described as savage.

He didn’t choose to nimbly dodge the heavy tail-whip, a blow powerful enough to snap a tree in two.

Lance violently raised his left leg, channeling all his Power into his knee.

[Top Dragon Horn]

He slammed his hardened knee into the massive lizard tail in mid-air.

The dull THUD of the impact was enough to make one’s ears ache.

This head-on blow brought the Lizardman’s seemingly unstoppable tail whip to a dead stop.

Despite taking the massive impact, Lance’s leather boots only slid back half a step on the sand.

And then...

Lance used the force of the rebound, his body launching forward like a suddenly released bowstring.

He launched himself into the air.

In the instant he was airborne, he torqued his waist, borrowing the momentum.

His right leg, like a steel whip infused with Magic Power, carved a vicious arc through the air.

[Azure Dragon Extreme Intent Style: Dragon Leaping Tail]

The powerful whip kick slammed squarely into the side of the Lizardman’s neck.

The immense impact was like a battering ram striking a city gate.

It snapped the Lizardman’s scaly head back at a grotesque angle.

The crisp SNAP of its thick neck bone breaking was terrifyingly clear by the quiet lakeside.
