Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 1835: Chapter 1075: Sain Betrayed My Feelings (Part 2)
But he was worried that his inspection would slow down the adventurers’ entry into the Sain Dungeon, causing the Sain Dungeon to go berserk.
It is said that the army general even lit a few incense sticks for Sain, praying for the other’s generosity.
Fortunately, the Sain Dungeon did not go berserk again due to this small matter, allowing the census to proceed smoothly.
However, although many Demon Clan spies were found, after Leon’s identification, he discovered that Onora was not among them.
On the other hand, the human wave strategy he planned received a lot of criticism.
The main reason was that until now, no one could reach the gathering place by jumping down from the bridge.
Due to his strategy guide, thousands of people experienced a fall-to-death that they shouldn’t have, and most people tried more than once. Many checked every bridge in the Sain Dungeon multiple times, but ultimately gained nothing.
However, among those who successfully completed Fire Transmission, someone did indeed reach the gathering place by jumping off the Losric Bridge.
It seems that the conditions to reach the gathering place required either the Losric Bridge or completing Fire Transmission, but neither were feats an ordinary person could achieve. Many people hadn’t even gotten past Cold Valley’s Yirushi’er, let alone talk about Fire Transmission.
For a time, Leon’s reputation suffered.
Even though he noted that the idea of reaching the gathering place via other bridges was just speculation, since he wrote it down, reputation damage was inevitable.
He simply couldn’t not care about such things, but there were more pressing matters at hand.
“How exactly did that Demon Clan member arrive at the Ring Seal City?”
Leon sat in front of the bonfire in Ring Seal City and fell into deep thought. Red specks of light flickered around him, a sign that the adventurers were searching for invasion targets using the Blood-red Eye Orb.
During this period, he was not idle, wandering aimlessly like an Animated Corpse in the gathering place and in Ring Seal City, always under the effect of the Blood-red Eye Orb, restricting invasion targets to these two areas.
Of course, this was to find Onora once more, believing that if he could successfully invade her, he could extract some intelligence.
But unfortunately, he hadn’t invaded anyone.
Actually, that’s not entirely accurate; he did at least invade Gapar…
Those adventurers who entered the gathering place after that were not invaded by him, perhaps because they hadn’t managed to defeat the Demon Prince, so the progress was deemed incompatible or something.
Unable to invade Onora—this was a serious problem.
Since meeting her twice as the Church Spear, she had seemingly vanished into thin air.
Leon couldn’t find her and couldn’t figure out how she had arrived at the Sain Dungeon in the first place.
“Crackle, crackle…”
The bonfire in front emitted a sleep-inducing crackling sound.
In this post-apocalyptic Ring Seal City, the bonfire was the only thing full of vitality; just watching it filled one with hope again.
Leon could only fully relax in front of the bonfire, its crackling aiding his thoughts.
“Things have taken a turn for the worse.”
He muttered to himself.
He had already entertained many speculations about how Onora reached the Sain Dungeon, and there was one scenario that was particularly dire.
“The Sain Dungeon has opened a Teleportation Gate in the territory of the Demon Clan.”
This was the worst possible outcome!
Given that no other method had produced satisfactory results, this was the only conclusion that made sense. But anyone with hope in life would dread this becoming reality.
“If the Sain Dungeon has indeed opened a Teleportation Gate in the Demon Clan’s territory, then things could get chaotic.”
How many Teleportation Gates had been opened? What was the scope of the areas opened to the Demon Clan? What benefits did the Demon Clan gain from the Dungeon? How had the Demon Clan’s strength developed?
Most importantly, were they utilizing the bonfire?
If the Demon Clan also upgraded using the bonfire and spawned a bunch of stat monsters… the consequences would be unimaginable!
In the past, the Sain Dungeon had always helped them fight against the Demon Clan and other malevolent forces. People instinctively thought the Sain Dungeon stood on the side of humans, believing it had a soul, unlike other dungeons.
But now looking at it.
What if the Sain Dungeon only helped us because it hadn’t opened a Teleportation Gate on the Demon Clan’s side?
Leon frustratedly ruffled his hair and got up from the ground.
“Regardless, I have to inform others of this possibility.”
As for what could be done after that? He didn’t know; his mind was currently a mess.
Leon felt as if he suddenly discovered that someone he thought was only good to him was actually equally compassionate to everyone…
A sense of awkwardness.
————————————
“Damn, why have these fire-playing bastards suddenly gone mad.”
“Sister Onora, you’re not hurt, right?”
Sain Dungeon, in the not yet gathered gathering place.
Onora and Chrono were clearing the battlefield.
The ground was littered with bodies, many incomplete, but most were charred corpses, the air thick with the smell of roasted meat.
The battlefield was a vast open area in the gathering place, filled everywhere with piles of ash. The ashes, already gray and dull, had turned even darker, as if they had undergone a secondary burning, nearby was Fran Fort, burning with most trees charred and dead.
Only one entity could reignite these fireless ashes to flames.
Mad Fire.
This was the battlefield where the Demon King Army clashed with the Mad Fire God Sect. Now, with the Mad Fire God Sect’s retreat, the Demon King Army had claimed victory.
The Demon King Army even invaded the Mad Fire God Sect’s safety zone, slaughtering them outright and seizing the safety zone, declaring the complete expulsion of the Mad Fire lunatics.
But despite the victory, the Demon King Army did not feel happy.
Because the losses were too great.
“What on earth are they thinking.”
Onora emitted a powerful aura, crushing the charred corpses on the ground to dust.
Ever since she returned from the World Bubble, she hadn’t had a single day of joy.
Upon her return, she was informed that the Mad Fire God Sect had launched a massive attack on them, so she hastily organized her troops to confront the Mad Fire God Sect, intending to repel these fire-wielding lunatics once again.
In the past, the Mad Fire God Sect employed harassment tactics, striking here and there, thoroughly annoying the Demon King Army.
Onora retaliated with the intention of teaching the Mad Fire God Sect a lesson.
But to her surprise, the Mad Fire God Sect did not follow their usual protocols this time.
They launched a full offensive.
All Mad Fire Cultists in the gathering place were thrown in, each becoming a fearless Berserker, continuing to burn the Demon King Army with every last tear of flame, regardless of how many comrades fell, their fighting spirit unyielding.
The Demon King Army spent days and immense effort to completely defeat them.
But the cost? Their hard-won safety zone was devastated, setting them back to square one overnight.
Onora could not understand the actions of the Mad Fire God Sect at all, for this war was a complete loss for both sides!
“Have they really been driven mad by the fire?”
“…”
Chrono followed closely behind the furious Onora, his face shrouded in darkness.
This was the Demon King Army’s most lax moment, as the soldiers immersed themselves in the relief of having survived the ordeal, even Onora lowered her guard.
Fran Fort was nearby, which meant the Abyss was nearby.
Chrono’s eyes revealed a hint of struggle.
Now was the perfect chance to turn Onora into his “accomplice”.
To push her into the Abyss in one go, perhaps!?
