Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?
Chapter 1783 - 1049: Still a Bad Ending_3
Dal flew backward like a stone shot from a catapult, crashing through a stone pillar protruding from the ground and rolling several times on the ground before coming to a stop.
The charged atmosphere on the battlefield momentarily froze.
Manus was radiating heat from being scorched by magic, but the ordinary attack magic with its scattered offensive was ineffective on him; it might have been better to use a Combat Skill for greater gains.
Oops, chose the wrong Big Move.
Dal propped himself up with the Great Sword, coughing up several large mouthfuls of blood, with streaks of black left from the Abyss burning mixed in.
But when he looked up, a smile appeared, for he saw at that moment, Artorias had pierced his Great Sword into Manus’s open chest, the tip emerging from his back and quickly withdrawn, bringing with it a string of dark blood!
This was probably the most severe injury Manus had received so far, even causing him to pause momentarily!
Before the crowd could even cheer, Manus let out an unprecedented roar. The sound was no longer the previous deep growl but full of fury, with the dark light at the scepter’s tip bursting brightly.
"He’s about to unleash the Abyss!"
Countless black meteors descended from the darkness above the nest’s dome, each one an explosion of humanity! The entire nest lay exposed with no corner left untouched by this strike!
"Run towards Artorias!" Luluwo yelled loudly, now they had no choice but to run there.
Thankfully, under her micro-adjustments, everyone was positioned not far from the Wolf Knight, and they rushed towards Artorias.
Artorias pulled out that Silver Necklace, raising it high above his head, and a translucent barrier expanded outward from its center, enveloping everyone within.
The instances of humanity hitting the barrier were instantly rebounded, as if bounced off by Topps Force Field.
"Boom——"
The continuous explosions caused by humanity sounded around, yet within the range of the Silver Necklace, everyone remained unharmed, instilling an overpowering sense of security.
Tami looked at the silver-white barrier overhead, then at the slightly trembling Silver Necklace in Artorias’s hand, muttering to herself: "Indeed, in Ulashiro, we must acquire the Silver Necklace in the future."
The bombardment of humanity lasted for a full ten seconds before the last of it hit the barrier and was repelled, restoring silence in the nest, and the glow of the Silver Necklace dimmed a bit.
Manus stood tens of meters away, with that wound pierced by Artorias still oozing dark liquid, recovering slower than the injuries left by the adventurers.
He could indeed be wounded! This gave everyone hope!
"Again!" Luluwo shouted, urging to replicate the previous strategy: Artorias continued the frontal assault, Dal kept skirmishing, Tami, and the Magicians kept providing ranged support and buffs from the rear, continuing this way!
In the second round of engagement, Manus’s frequency of punches noticeably decreased; he started paying more attention to blocking Dal’s surprise attacks rather than merely assaulting Artorias. In the third round of engagement, the Abyss Magic unleashed en masse by his scepter disrupted the adventurers, but with the protection of the Silver Necklace, survival was snatched from danger, in the fourth round, the fifth round...
"It seems we’re starting to grasp the rhythm."
"Just keep going like this, it might just work!"
As soon as Luluwo said this.
The Barrier Shield shattered.
Smashed to pieces by Manus with a full-force strike!
The durability of the Barrier Shield had been steadily depleted in continuous blocking until it finally could not withstand the load; when the Shield shattered, no one could maintain a confident expression on their face.
At the moment of shattering, Artorias turned his body to unload the force, but he was a split second too slow.
"Bang!"
The Master of the Abyss’s fist suddenly seemed to enlarge, striking his arm squarely, with the resounding sound of breaking echoing across the scene.
Artorias was even sent flying backward by it, barely landing with his sword stabbed into the ground.
Manus gave him no breathing space, the Master of the Abyss charged forward, his first punch aiming for Artorias’s face but getting blocked by the Great Sword, immediately followed by a second punch hitting the sword’s body, causing the large Great Sword to fly out of his hand! The third punch landed on his chest, slamming him completely to the ground.
Without a pause, he turned around, crimson eyes sweeping over the adventurers standing before him.
"Ah-oh..."
The group of adventurers felt a sense of impending doom.
At this point, there was no choice but to acknowledge.
Luluwo’s tactical arrangement had a major flaw.
That was Artorias couldn’t withstand Manus for an extended period!
