White Dragon Lord

Chapter 457: The Final Battle

  • Next Chapter

While on high alert, the White Dragon Lord transmitted a message to the Abomination-rank dragons through the Soul-Linking Chain.

"Everyone, the titans have secretly prepared an ancient alchemy weapon. There is a high probability that it is the Star-Destroying Ballista or the Heart of Egulais."

"The Star-Destroying Ballista is a linear attack. Its targets are either the three Dragon Kings or the Floating City. If the Floating City becomes the target, I will immediately activate a spatial jump."

"The Heart of Egulais is a wide-area attack. If what the titans created is the Heart of Egulais, then any of us could be targeted. When the time comes, adapt as the situation demands."

As this concerned their own survival, the dragons naturally agreed, voicing their compliance one after another.

The White Dragon Lord closely monitored the frontal battlefield. With the Soul-Linking Chain establishing a barrier-free communication system and the Floating City replenishing their energy, the fully-powered dragons pinned the titans down completely.

The melee-focused dragons engaged the titans in close combat. Dragon Breath clashed against Spears of the Titans, and draconic claws met titan martial arts. Under the fierce draconic assault, the titan frontline was forced back again and again.

Magic collided in the air, sending violent shockwaves spreading in all directions.

Suddenly, a panicked scream echoed across the battlefield. A titan who had charged too far forward was simultaneously targeted by over a dozen dragons. Amidst the surging torrent of magic, his massive body was reduced to ash.

Finally, after the Floating City joined the battle, the first Abomination-rank titan fell. The dragon race's morale surged, and they pressed their advantage.

In contrast, the White Dragon Lord in the Floating City's control room raised his vigilance to the highest level. The titans were highly likely to take advantage of the dragon race's surging morale, waiting for the moment their guard was down to launch a sudden strike.

However, to the White Dragon Lord's disappointment, the titans held back.

They would only play their trump card to turn the tide when they were absolutely certain of success.

'Since that's how it is, I'll force your hand!'

"The Dimensional Annihilation Cannon's target is the Star Titan!"

After transmitting the message to the Gem Dragon King, the White Dragon Lord placed his dragon claw on the Control Core. Vast mana was broken down within the Elemental Furnace, flooding into the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon's magical array.

The crystal atop the White Tower emitted a scorching white light. The intense glare made it impossible for the titans facing the Floating City to even open their eyes.

The Gem Dragon King immediately intensified his assault. A distinct feeling of being locked onto surged in the Star Titan's heart. That sense of crisis, like a sharp blade piercing straight into his brow, sent a chill down his spine. He exploded with full power, attempting to shake off the Gem Dragon King's relentless attacks.

The Dimensional Annihilation Cannon finished charging. Massive magical energy suppressed the entire battlefield as a brilliant ray shot toward the Star Titan, shattering space and annihilating elements along its path.

The attention of everyone on the battlefield was fixated on the Dimensional Annihilation Cannon. Only in the middle of the Abomination-rank battlefield did an inconspicuous titan coldly watch the dragons surrounding the Floating City. He silently took out a scroll and unrolled it at a hidden angle.

Little did he know, his actions were clearly observed by the White Dragon Lord inside the Floating City. The White Dragon Lord's heart leaped into his throat.

The critical moment that would decide the battle's victor had finally arrived!

If the titan race's trump card heavily damaged the dragons, then the dragon race was highly likely to lose a war they could not afford to lose. If the dragon race successfully neutralized the crisis, then the titans would face a grim defeat under the Floating City's destructive artillery fire.

A mass of pitch-black blood surged from the scroll, churning before the titan. The energy fluctuations were evil and obscure. If the White Dragon Lord hadn't been watching so closely, he truly might not have noticed it.

The Heart of Egulais!

Forged with the heart-blood of an Abomination-rank titan as its core and supplemented by the blood of numerous titan powerhouses, the Heart of Egulais brimmed with their curse against the dragons. Any dragon tainted by it would be left clinging to life by a thread, if not outright killed.

The White Dragon Lord instantly understood that the titans' target was the numerous Abomination-rank dragons gathered around the Floating City. Because he was hidden deep within the Floating City, the Heart of Egulais lacked the piercing power to breach the Floating City's defensive barrier.

The Heart of Egulais left the titan's hand, splitting from a single mass into numerous small blood beads, silently shooting toward the dragons.

The White Dragon Lord immediately warned the numerous Abomination-rank dragons: "Dodge quickly! The Heart of Egulais!"

At the same time, he drove the Floating City forward to meet the scattered, incoming Heart of Egulais.

Seeing the dragons spring into action the moment the attack was launched, the titan realized he had been discovered. He clenched his teeth in frustration.

The trump card that had been preemptively guarded against failed to exert its proper effect. The Abomination-rank dragons either quickly fled the attack range or hid behind the Floating City.

Most of the blood beads slammed against the Floating City's defensive barrier. This curse targeting the dragon race had no effect on the structure itself. Amidst the tidal wave of magical energy, the Heart of Egulais vanished bit by bit.

Only wisps of ominous black gas remained. That black gas resembled the twisting faces of titans, howling unwillingly before fading away into nothingness.

Having neutralized the crisis, the dragon race began to reorganize their formation to resume their attack on the titans.

Suddenly, a sharp energy fluctuation flared from the battlefield of the three Dragon Kings. The Gem Dragon King's cry of pain rang out. The White Dragon Lord turned his head just in time to see a streak of starlight flying into the distance.

The Star-Destroying Ballista!!!

The titans had prepared more than one ancient alchemy weapon! While the dragon race's attention was entirely focused on the Heart of Egulais, they had seized the opportunity to launch a lethal sneak attack!

'Damn it!'

The White Dragon Lord stared at the massive hole in the Gem Dragon King's abdomen. That sharp power hadn't faded yet and was still continuing to destroy the Dragon King's flesh.

The Gem Dragon King had lost almost half his life. Blood shimmering with brilliant starlight gushed from the wound. His power was constantly draining away, leaving him completely unable to continue contending with the Star Titan.

The titan race's morale soared, and they frantically launched their attack.

Rage and unease churned within the White Dragon Lord.

The many dragons also sensed things were going badly. A small fraction of them even harbored thoughts of retreating. An uncontested titan giant was simply too terrifying to face.

The White Dragon Lord understood the thoughts in the dragons' hearts at this moment. A portion of the dragons were furious, wanting to perish together with the titans, but a small minority were struck with fear and wanted to flee. The vast majority still held onto a sliver of hope.

The moment the first deserter broke ranks, the collapse would be irreversible.

There wasn't much time left for the White Dragon Lord to think. He gritted his teeth and ordered his clone to return to the Floating City.

At the same time, the White Dragon Lord's voice rang out in the minds of the numerous Abomination-rank dragons.

"Everyone, I will hold off the Star Titan for as long as I can. Before I fall, you will exert all your strength to crush the titan race. My clone will continue to control the Floating City to provide support for everyone. You can do this! For the glory of the dragon race!"

"For the glory of the dragon race!"

An Abomination-rank dragon felt his blood boil. Responding to the White Dragon Lord's call, he roared the battle cry.

"For the glory of the dragon race!"

More and more dragons took up the chant. The dragons across the entire battlefield were infected by it, and the roars merged into one, ultimately echoing throughout the Star Realm battlefield.

Rising alongside the war cry was the innate pride of the dragon race. They regained their confidence and battled together against the titans.

His clone took over control of the Floating City. The White Dragon Lord flapped his wings, shot out of the floating structure, and flew toward the perilously besieged Gem Dragon King.

It wasn't that he didn't want to teleport there, but rather that the energy across the battlefield was too chaotic. Aside from the Floating City—the supreme achievement of magical civilization—no one dared to casually attempt teleportation.

Seeing a white dragon fly out of the Floating City and head straight for the Dragon King battlefield, the titan race instantly understood what the White Dragon Lord intended to do.

"Stop that white dragon!"

The titans launched attacks at the White Dragon Lord, but they were all intercepted by nearby dragons.

Amidst a trail of magical explosions, the White Dragon Lord flew to the Gem Dragon King's side under the cover of the dragon pack. A streak of Soul Magic forced back the relentlessly pursuing Star Titan.

"Your Majesty Sardior! Retreat for now!"

The Gem Dragon King cast an unwilling glance at the Star Titan, but he also knew this wasn't the time to act brave. He tore open space and dove into the chaotic spatial currents.

"We're relying on you! Amos! The dragon race will be victorious!"

Along with the Gem Dragon King's firm words, a streak of starlight flew toward the White Dragon Lord, forming a layer of shielding over his scales. This was the Gem Dragon King's final protection.

The Star Titan stared coldly at the White Dragon Lord. He reached out to cover the wound on his arm, and the bleeding gash mended beneath the starlight energy. "Playing the hero comes with a price! White Dragon!"

"That's none of your concern! You'd better worry about those titans!" The White Dragon Lord pointed at the Abomination-rank battlefield.

Soaring morale couldn't change the titan race's fundamental disadvantage. With the help of the Floating City, the dragon race still kept the titans pinned down. Furthermore, under the pressure of potential defeat, the dragon race's offensive grew even fiercer. Already, another Abomination-rank titan had fallen in battle.

The White Dragon Lord's decision to step forward had been carefully considered. Firstly, the Floating City secured the advantage on the main battlefield, meaning he only needed to stall the Star Titan to guarantee victory. Secondly, he trusted his own strength.

Even without the Floating City's help, he was only slightly weaker than the Dragon King tier. Even if he couldn't defeat the Star Titan, he wouldn't fall in a short amount of time.

Moreover, the Star Titan had been suppressed by the Gem Dragon King for so long, expending a great deal of energy and sustaining unhealed wounds. Meanwhile, the White Dragon Lord had just entered the battlefield in peak condition. This greatly bolstered his confidence.

Without further words, the White Dragon Lord and the Star Titan violently clashed.

Relying on the dual calculations of his own brain and the Gold Finger, the White Dragon Lord simultaneously wielded ice magic and Soul Magic to fight the enemy. Ice magic for defense, Soul Magic for offense.

However, the Star Titan truly lived up to being an old monster who had lived for countless years. His strength was immense, and his combat experience was abundant. In his clash with the White Dragon Lord, he held the upper hand, attacking more than he defended.

However, the one who grew anxious was not the disadvantaged White Dragon Lord, but rather the Star Titan. Time was on the dragons' side.

The Floating City brought a massive advantage to the dragon race. The casualties among the Abomination-rank titans were continuously piling up.

Once the Abomination-rank titans lost all hope of victory and began to rout, then even the three titan giants would be powerless to support the entire war. The ordinary titans below the Abomination Rank would suffer a massive slaughter.

The Star Titan's offensive grew increasingly fierce. The White Dragon Lord calmly held his ground. He sensed the Star Titan's impatience; impatience made one more prone to mistakes. He calmly waited for his opportunity.

But the one who broke the battlefield's balance first wasn't the White Dragon Lord, but Bahamut in the distance.

The White Dragon Lord felt a powerful energy fluctuation. Immediately after, he felt the aura on Bahamut's body skyrocket, as if it had abruptly strengthened by a massive margin.

At the same time, the Luminous Titan's pained grunt reached his ears.

The entire battlefield was instinctively drawn toward the commotion. They saw the Platinum Dragon God radiating a violent energy aura from his entire body. In his grasp, he held a severed titan arm.

And the owner of that arm was precisely the Luminous Titan!

The Luminous Titan's left arm was severed at the root. His face was deathly pale as he clutched his wound and staggered back repeatedly.

"Augustine! You weren't the only ones who prepared a trump card! We did as well!" Bahamut tossed the severed titan arm into the endless darkness in the distance and subsequently launched an attack on the Luminous Titan.

Bahamut's booming words echoed across the entire battlefield. The dragon race felt wild joy in their hearts, while the titan race felt a deep, piercing chill.

The heavily injured Luminous Titan faced perilous danger under the Platinum Dragon God's assault, but the titan race didn't have a hero like the White Dragon Lord stand up to save the situation.

The battlefield of the three giants was lost!

The Abomination-rank battlefield was lost!

The titan race collapsed!

The first to flee were not the Abomination-rank titans, but the ordinary titans at the edge of the battlefield. Seeing that the situation was hopeless, they shook off their opponents and fled into the dark Star Realm.

This was the rational choice. The titan race's defeat was already a foregone conclusion; preserving as much of their living strength as possible was the most crucial matter.

But the battlefield was deeply interconnected. The fleeing titans were the final straw, triggering a massive rout.

The Abomination-rank titans successively shook off their opponents and fled for their lives. The freed Abomination-rank dragons began to slaughter the ordinary titans who hadn't managed to escape in time. Facing enemies they could not possibly match, whether the ordinary titans survived simply came down to luck.

Screams of agony rang endlessly. The titan race's blood spilled across the Star Realm.

These ordinary titans were weak, but they were the main force for the titan race's continuation. Once too many died, it would cause a massive reduction in the newborn population, thereby irreparably weakening the titan race's war potential.

Therefore, the dragon race showed absolutely no mercy, burying as much of the titan race's future in the Star Realm as possible.

The Metamagic Railgun blasted round after round into the dense crowds of fleeing titans. Each shot reaped the lives of a dozen or so giants.

Highly destructive magic, frantically spewed Dragon Breath, and the endless pursuit sent the titans straight into the Kingdom of the God of Death.

On the other end, after the heavily injured Luminous Titan, Dark Titan, and Star Titan bought enough time for the ordinary titans, they also had to consider their own survival. They scattered and fled.

The White Dragon Lord pursued the Star Titan, who had lost all will to fight. His primary objective was to prevent the titan from finding an opportunity for sabotage, but it was also to mercilessly kick a dog while it was down. As he chased, he taunted, "Sinzela! You have lost! The titans are doomed to destruction!"

"Don't get cocky! White Dragon! I..."

A burst of magic from the White Dragon Lord cut the Star Titan off. "Losers don't have the right to speak!"

In the end, the Star Titan tore open space and escaped into the chaotic spatial currents.

The White Dragon Lord glanced at the routing Abomination-rank titans, then turned around to slaughter the ordinary titans.

The Abomination-rank titans were solely focused on escaping and were extremely difficult to kill. Furthermore, they might launch a desperate counterattack to take him down with them. Thus, it was better to seize the opportunity to cull the ordinary titans.

Of course, those who caught his eye weren't truly ordinary titans, but titans at the High-Tier Legendary Level.

Finally, there was not a single living titan left in sight.

The dragons stood tall in the Star Realm battlefield. The titan corpses around them looked like a dense cluster of floating rocks. The cheers of victory echoed throughout the Star Realm.

The great war between the dragons and the titans, which had spanned over a century, ended in a total victory for the dragon race.

This battle also permanently cemented the White Dragon Lord's supreme status within the dragon race.
