White Dragon Lord

Chapter 392: Dragon Summit

  • Next Chapter

Backed by the White Dragon Lord, Willy deployed the murloc army to patrol the seas. Using their sheer numbers, they locked down the ocean so tightly that not even a bird flying overhead could escape their notice, let alone massive transport ships.

The moment they spotted a titan transport fleet, the murlocs rallied to attack. It was the titans' first time witnessing the true strength of such unassuming, lowly creatures. The dense, writhing swarms surging across the ocean surface had already become a waking nightmare for countless titans and giants.

"Brother, since we locked down the coastline two days ago, the murloc army has reaped a bountiful harvest. They've intercepted eight giant transport fleets, sinking a total of 106 giant transport ships and 37 escort vessels to the bottom of the sea."

Willy continued his report.

"The white dragon support forces deployed five times in total, hunting down 123 titans and countless giants. Now, the giant fleets do not dare approach within ten thousand li of the White Tower."

The White Dragon Lord nodded in satisfaction.

"Well done."

Willy's expression turned serious.

"Aside from the good news, there is also bad. At the other end of the continent, the murloc patrols met fierce resistance. They were intercepted and slaughtered by a water-elemental titan army led by the Tide Titans. Because of the vast distance, our support forces couldn't arrive in time. The giant transport fleets are now trying to bypass the murloc blockade."

"Pay them no mind," the White Dragon Lord said. "All we are doing right now is buying time for the dragons of the Evil Scale Fortress. The giant armies won't have much impact on this war."

"Not much impact?"

Willy was confused. Many ants can bite an elephant to death—let alone an army of giants possessing Master Tier strength.

Seeing Willy's confusion, the White Dragon Lord pointed toward the mainland.

"The coastal region is mostly flat plains. As long as the giants dare to show up, we will make sure they never return."

Willy looked toward the mainland, but he could only see a narrow sliver of coastline. The island hosting the White Tower was simply too far out in the vast ocean.

Suddenly, a brilliant flash of light erupted across the distant sky over the mainland—the unmistakable signature of highly destructive magic.

"Brother, fighting has broken out again."

The White Dragon Lord's gaze turned solemn as he stared at the distant shore.

Thanks to his superior strength and mastery of magic, the White Dragon Lord perceived far more detail than Willy. Along the coastal region, over thirty titans and dragons were locked in a chaotic melee, with High-Tier Legendary combatants among them.

Neither the dragons nor the titans lacked violent maniacs like the Flame of the Molten Mountain. These hot-tempered dragons and titans had grown restless long ago, sparking small-scale skirmishes all along the coast. The number of participants fluctuated constantly; they fought wherever they crossed paths.

The battles yielded mixed results. On the first day of the chaotic fighting, nine dragons had fallen. On the second day, seventeen more perished. As increasing numbers of titans and dragons converged on the area, casualties on both sides would only continue to soar.

The White Dragon Lord could do nothing to stop it. Even ordinary dragons were apex predators accustomed to absolute supremacy. They could not be molded into strictly disciplined soldiers overnight.

The newly arrived High-Tier Legendary dragons were especially problematic. Most refused to sit idle in the White Tower waiting for orders, instead flying out to the continent on their own initiative to hunt titans in the chaos. But if they were careless, the hunter could easily become the prey.

The Matron of Venom, who was responsible for receiving the reinforcements, pushed the door open and entered.

"Lord Amos, the Teleportation Platform has reached its limit again."

"Understood."

Grasping the Control Core, the White Dragon Lord cast a spell to rapidly cool down the Teleportation Platform.

Once the White Dragon Lord finished spellcasting, the Matron of Venom asked, "Lord Amos, what is the situation now? How many dragons are actually willing to follow collective orders?"

"Do not worry, Lady Gelina. Once the titan army bears down on us, they will naturally realize the importance of fighting as a unified force."

The Matron of Venom frowned.

"But I worry that by the time they realize it, the dragons will have already suffered catastrophic casualties. If we lose the war because of this, I will have no way to answer to Her Majesty the Dragon Queen."

"I am keeping a close eye on this very issue. I have already sent subordinates to blend in with this world's native species and monitor the titan cities. The moment they spot anything unusual, I will immediately order the dragons to pull back. Furthermore, our kin are not fools; if they sense the tide turning against them, they will retreat at once. The titans can never catch us on the wing."

"Very well. I was just overly tense."

The Matron of Venom's brow relaxed.

"I want to know how many dragons are currently inside the White Tower."

"Including you and me, there are currently fifteen High-Tier Legendary dragons and 2,123 ordinary dragons inside the White Tower. This is the force we can mobilize directly—a force more than capable of destroying this entire world."

The Matron of Venom nodded and took her leave.

...

Days passed, and more dragons and titans continued to pour into the Sincaro Titan World. The White Dragon Lord tallied the dragon forces: a total of over 8,400 dragons had arrived from the Evil Scale Fortress, including fifty-十四 High-Tier Legendary dragons.

Nearly three-fifths of these dragons threw themselves into the coastal melee. The fighting between dragons and titans grew increasingly ferocious as the number of combatants swelled, expanding the scale and intensity of the clashes.

The coastal region was left riddled with devastation from the great battles. Mountains were leveled to the ground, and the plains were pockmarked with blast craters. The landmass sank, pushing the coastline nearly fifty li inland.

After one major battle concluded, the dragon horde gathered around the White Tower to watch the numerous High-Tier Legendary dragons hold a summit.

The King of the Thunder Prison roared at the White Dragon Lord.

"We lost over a hundred of our kin yesterday! Amos! Gelina! Why hasn't the main army marched out yet?! Are you two scared?!"

Crimson Flame Streamer couldn't hold back; he slammed his claws on the table and rose to his feet.

"Enough! Quinnas! Do not use your pathetic intellect to second-guess the commanders! Their contributions far exceed anything you know!"

The King of the Thunder Prison recoiled slightly at Crimson Flame Streamer's bellow. Instantly feeling a loss of face, he flew into a humiliated rage and glared fiercely at Crimson Flame Streamer.

"Crimson Flame Streamer! Don't think I'm afraid—"

"Silence!"

A deep voice, carrying a trace of anger, swept across the venue. The rowdy dragons instantly quieted, their gazes involuntarily converging on the speaker—the White Dragon Lord.

The White Dragon Lord swept a cold, indifferent gaze over the assembly.

"Please remember this. We are not engaged in a thugs' street brawl. This is a war between races, and wars require strategy."

Many of the dragons present revealed thoughtful expressions, gradually grasping the White Dragon Lord's meaning.

Seeing the crowd calm down, the White Dragon Lord spoke again. "Next, I will outline the primary purpose of this summit and share the latest intelligence we have gathered."

"While you and the titans have been brawling along the coast, the titans' vassals—the giant armies—have begun massing in their rear cities, and their numbers are steadily swelling. Initial estimates place the giants at over 300,000 strong. I believe you all understand what an army of 300,000 giants means."

A collective silence fell over the dragons, their faces turning grave.

One giant was not terrifying. Neither were two or three. But the combined might of thousands of giants was enough to make any dragon shudder, let alone a grand army of 300,000.

"In the ancient era, the ancestors of the Dragon Race used sub-dragons to fight the giants, but this world possesses no dragon beasts."

Allowing the dragons a moment to digest this, the White Dragon Lord continued, "But you do not need to worry about the giant army. I will resolve that problem. I am only informing you of their movements to prevent you from blindly charging deep into the continent and throwing your lives away."

The Ancient Gold Dragon voiced some concern.

"But, Amos, while your murlocs can match the giants in numbers, their quality is far inferior."

"I have other methods."

Some dragons believed the White Dragon Lord, while others remained half-skeptical. Yet at a time like this, with no one else offering a solution to the giant army, they had no choice but to place their trust in him.

"Leave the giant army to me. Your task is to slaughter as many titans as possible. To do so effectively, we must maximize our combat strength. History has already proven that organizing the Dragon Legion by species is the simplest and most effective way to amplify our power, as each species of our Chromatic Dragons possesses a distinct Dragon Breath."

"A red dragon's breath has the highest temperature, covers a vast area, and clings to its targets, giving it unparalleled group lethality. Combine that with their immense physical strength, and red dragons are the perfect vanguard."

Hearing this, the red dragons present raised their heads in pride. A few of the more hot-blooded ones even spewed jets of flame into the sky to celebrate.

The White Dragon Lord looked toward the Flame of the Molten Mountain.

"I propose that Lord Flame of the Molten Mountain serves as the vanguard commander for the red dragons."

"Hold on! Why him and not me?!"

The High-Tier Legendary red dragons from the Evil Scale Fortress felt insulted. They instantly erupted into indignation, voicing their doubts over the White Dragon Lord's decision.

"That's right! The vanguard commander position belongs to me!"

"No, it should be mine!"

"Mine!"

"Do you want to fight?! I, the Flame of the Molten Mountain, am—"

"Stop arguing! Flame of the Molten Mountain! Bring out your spoils of war!"

Hearing the White Dragon Lord's words, the Flame of the Molten Mountain paused for a moment before catching on. He retrieved and hoisted the severed head of the Lord of Red Lotus, proudly sweeping his gaze over the crowd. He basked in the admiring and envious looks of the ordinary red dragons, as well as the jealous glares from his High-Tier Legendary peers.

"I am the undisputed choice for vanguard commander!"

The ordinary red dragons nodded. Being capable of hunting down a High-Tier Legendary molten titan had earned the Flame of the Molten Mountain their full approval, leaving the other High-Tier Legendary red dragons speechless.

One High-Tier Legendary red dragon grumbled in dissatisfaction.

"Hmph, what's the big deal."

"Not a big deal? Then why don't you bring out a few for me to see!"

That High-Tier Legendary red dragon choked, utterly unable to retort.

Seeing the High-Tier Legendary red dragons tacitly accept the Flame of the Molten Mountain's position, the White Dragon Lord breathed a sigh of relief.

Red dragons were the most competitive of the Chromatic Dragons. Furthermore, there was a massive number of High-Tier Legendary red dragons gathered this time, with no exceptionally prominent leader among them. Consequently, selecting their vanguard commander had been the White Dragon Lord's biggest headache. Fortunately, he had remembered that the Flame of the Molten Mountain possessed the head of the Lord of Red Lotus as a trophy, which could be used to suppress the unruly crowd.

The White Dragon Lord then looked toward the King of the Thunder Prison.

"A blue dragon's lightning breath holds immense destructive power and boasts the highest single-target lethality. Therefore, the blue dragons will form our decapitation strike force. You will focus your fire to eliminate high-value enemy targets, such as titan commanders, titan mages who excel at spellcasting, and High-Tier Legendary titans. The King of the Thunder Prison's strength is evident to all; I propose he serve as the supreme commander of the blue dragons."

"No problem!"

The King of the Thunder Prison puffed out his chest, arcs of lightning flashing across his scales.

Because he originated from the Evil Scale Fortress and was quite familiar with the blue dragons, the other High-Tier Legendary blue dragons raised no objections.

The White Dragon Lord then looked at an exceptionally massive green dragon. Like the Black King, he was a living fossil nearing the end of his lifespan—the Breath of Extinction.

"A green dragon's breath is toxic, and among the Chromatic Dragons, they are the most adept at magic. Therefore, the green dragons will form our Mage legion, with the High-Tier Legendary green dragon, the Breath of Extinction, serving as commander."

The Breath of Extinction was highly renowned within the Evil Scale Fortress; his appointment as commander was widely supported.

The White Dragon Lord then looked at the Black King.

"Black dragons excel at close-quarters combat, and their Dragon Breath is acidic enough to corrode titans into slag. They will serve as a supplement to our main force, with the Black King, Lord Atwood, acting as commander."

Possessing formidable strength and a ruthless fighting style, the Black King had reaped a bountiful harvest in the recent skirmishes against the titans. The several High-Tier Legendary black dragons voiced no objections.

At this point, only the white dragons among the Chromatic Dragons remained unassigned. The entire assembly looked toward the White Dragon Lord, with the White Dragon Clan watching in eager anticipation.

"This operation takes place in an oceanic environment. Among the titans, the Tide Titans pose the greatest threat. Suppressing the Tide Titans will be the primary objective of the White Dragon Clan, which I will command personally."

As the leader of this campaign and the master of the White Tower, the White Dragon Lord enjoyed unparalleled prestige within the Dragon Legion. Naturally, none of the white dragons had any objections.

The White Dragon Lord then turned to the Metallic Dragons, who stood out starkly among the Chromatic Dragons. Their total numbers were roughly equal to a single branch of the Chromatic Dragons, and they were led by Crimson Flame Streamer.

"First, I extend my deep gratitude to the Metallic Dragons for aiding us in a battle that originally belonged to the Chromatic Dragons. The Dragon Legion currently lacks a rapid-response reserve force. I propose that the Metallic Dragons take up this vital role, with Lord Crimson Flame Streamer acting as your leader."

The Metallic Dragons nodded respectfully to the White Dragon Lord. Crimson Flame Streamer stood up and gave a formal dragon salute.

"It is my honor."

The White Dragon Lord scanned the vast assembly.

"Aside from our combat forces, we require a medical team to treat our wounded comrades. No dragon is more suited for this responsibility than a priestess of Her Majesty the Dragon Queen. I propose that the Matron of Venom, Lady Gelina, serve as the head of the medical team, with the liberty to select its members yourself. What do you say?"

The Matron of Venom also gave a dragon salute.

"Saving our kin is a sacred mission bestowed upon her priestesses by Her Majesty the Dragon Queen."

The White Dragon Lord looked at the High-Tier Legendary dragons.

"The combat power of the High-Tier Legendary Rank is the decisive factor that will determine this war's outcome. Aside from the commanders of the respective forces and those under special circumstances, all High-Tier Legendary dragons will gather inside the White Tower. I will utilize the Floating Tower to further amplify everyone's combat strength."

The High-Tier Legendary dragons nodded in agreement. On a chaotic battlefield with tens of thousands of combatants at the Legendary Rank, a single High-Tier Legendary entity could not sway the outcome of the war. Pooling their power for a massive impact was the only wise choice.

"I object!"
