White Dragon Lord

Chapter 381: An Alternate World Version of Besieging Wei to Rescue Zhao

The rising sun dyed the horizon's clouds a piercing red. The White Dragon Lord steered the White Tower, streaking rapidly across the sky toward Sea-Calling City.

Long before he arrived, the White Dragon Lord spotted a plume of white smoke drifting in the sky above Sea-Calling City. The column rising from the ground lacked any trace of black, telling him the fires had been extinguished.

Willy must have repelled the enemy assault and was busy extinguishing the remaining flames. Relieved, the White Dragon Lord kept the White Tower on its course toward the city.

As they drew closer, the group saw multiple scorch marks across the buildings of Sea-Calling City. Several massive holes gaped in the previously intact City Wall, sections of which had completely collapsed, burying shattered pieces of Magic Crystal Cannons beneath the rubble. Willy stood amid the ruins, directing the monster army as they cleared the battlefield and carried the wounded to the priests.

Spotting the White Tower hovering in the sky, Willy flapped his wings and flew up to the central control room to meet the White Dragon Lord.

"Brother, we suffered a sudden ambush by twenty Titans," Willy reported. "They came from the direction of the Cliffside Tower."

"What are the casualties?"

"The exact numbers haven't been tallied yet. Some soldiers are still buried under the rubble."

Willy's expression was grim, his emotional turbulence naturally radiating a fierce, murderous aura.

"So far, we know we've lost three Magic Crystal Cannons and twenty ballistae. One hundred and eighty-two soldiers are dead, including two from the Master Tier and eleven High Tier professionals; the rest were Intermediate Tier professionals or Junior Auxiliary Soldiers. Two hundred and thirty-one are severely injured, and five hundred and forty-three suffered minor injuries."

The casualties were not low, but they were still within an acceptable range.

"What about the enemy?" the White Dragon Lord asked. "What did they pay?"

Willy lowered his head, not daring to meet the White Dragon Lord's eyes.

"We only wounded three Titans. The most heavily injured one left an arm behind."

The Ancient Gold Dragon looked at the angry, frustrated Willy and offered a few words of comfort. "You did well enough. After all, the enemy was a group of Titans."

The White Dragon Lord nodded. Against a sudden Titan ambush, this outcome was perfectly normal. He had no intention of blaming Willy.

"Willy, continue rebuilding Sea-Calling City."

Willy flapped his wings and flew away.

Grasping the White Tower Control Core, the White Dragon Lord entered the Raven Council's communication frequency.

A moment later, Grimos Raven's blurry image appeared before the White Dragon Lord.

"Your Excellency Grimos, how are the Raven Council's battle results?"

"We just destroyed our second Magic Tower and are currently heading for the third. And you?"

"We ran into the Lord of the Red Lotus, so we only managed to uproot one. We're heading for our second now. By the way, the Lord of the Red Lotus has fled. Be careful, he is very strong."

"Mm, be careful on your end as well."

The two faction leaders ended their conversation. After confirming that Sea-Calling City was fine, the White Dragon Lord steered the White Tower toward the Cliffside Tower.

As long as all the Magic Towers were uprooted, the White Tower and the Raven Council would secure an overwhelming advantage, driving the Titan forces led by the Lord of the Red Lotus out of the Muxinge Plane.

...

At the center of the Muxinge Plane, in the main hall of the Magic Tower Defense System's central tower, the molten titan—Madahak, Lord of the Red Lotus—leaned against his obsidian throne. His brows were tightly locked, and the flames burning across his body leaped several meters into the air.

Clearly, this supreme existence of the Sincaro Titan World was in a terrible mood. The many legendary Titans in the hall kept their heads bowed toward the floor, none daring to provoke the Lord of the Red Lotus at a time like this.

Creak!

The heavy doors of the hall were pushed open from the outside, allowing a piercing beam of golden sunlight to shoot into the room. A flame giant braced himself and hurried into a hall so quiet that a dropped needle could be heard, standing submissively in the center of the room with his head bowed.

"Lord Sovereign, we have lost contact with the Gale Tower."

The Lord of the Red Lotus furrowed his brows even deeper. From morning until now, he had heard similar news nearly ten times.

Relying on the formidable mobility of the Floating Towers, the Dragons and the raven-controlling Mages were swiftly relocating to attack the scattered Magic Towers. Lacking the ability to be everywhere at once, the Lord of the Red Lotus was stretched to his limits.

Thinking of the Floating Tower steered by the White Dragon Lord, the Lord of the Red Lotus was filled with envy and hatred. If he had his own Floating Tower, the situation would not have become so one-sided.

"Has that bitch Sindona sent a reply yet?"

"That Lord..."

"Ahahahahaha ahahaha!!!"

Before the giant could finish speaking, a violent surge of magical energy erupted from the main tower's Teleportation Platform. Unrestrained laughter and thunderous rumbling that sounded like a flock of screeching birds echoed in the ears of the many Titans. The ordinary Titans in the hall cowered, pulling their heads in.

"Madahak! In the end! You still had to beg me!"

Before the echoes of her voice faded, the Lord of the Red Lotus felt a violently unstable power—one that felt as if it might explode at any second—suddenly arrive right outside the hall.

Boom!

The heavy doors were kicked down. A female Titan wreathed in lightning stood before the collapsed doors, gripping the Spear of Thunder. She held her head high, sweeping a contemptuous glare over the Titans in the hall, who hastily lowered their heads to look at their toes.

"Hmph! A bunch of trash!"

"That's enough!"

The Lord of the Red Lotus's brows knitted tightly together.

"Sindona! I called you here to help! Not to watch a joke!"

"But, I want to watch the joke first, then help~."

"You!"

The Lord of the Red Lotus was so furious he couldn't speak. The flames on his body flared up, licking the vaulted ceiling.

Choosing to ignore the furious seeker of aid, the Thunder Titan—Sindona, Mother of Lightning—strode boldly into the hall. She casually dragged over a chair, crossed her legs, and sat brazenly in the center of the hall.

"You clever little schemer, Madahak! Although I can't stand the sight of you! Compared to you! I loathe Dragons even more! I don't mind helping you this once! We'll go by the conditions you stated! Once this is over! We split this plane half and half! Where are the Dragons?!"

"Sindona! Your recklessness will cost you dearly! Wait! I clearly said thirty-seventy!"

"Did you? I don't remember."

Sindona, Mother of Lightning, nonchalantly spread her hands, then gave a mocking grin.

"Madahak, you really are a good person."

"It's seventy for me, thirty for you!"

The two great overlords of the Sincaro Titan World stared at each other, sparks colliding between their gazes, while the legendary Titans in the hall remained dead silent.

At that moment, a giant ran up to the doorway. Seeing the scene in the hall, he flinched, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. Bracing himself, he slowly stepped over the collapsed doors and walked in.

"L-Lord Sovereign," he stammered, "the Tower of Rending Flame... has l-lost contact."

Forced by the circumstances, the Lord of the Red Lotus avoided the Mother of Lightning's gaze and changed his strategy.

"Sindona, the enemy this time is the Golden Bulwark. I recall you having a grudge against them, right?"

"The Golden Bulwark?"

The Thunder Titan—Sindona, Mother of Lightning—tilted her head back to look at the vaulted ceiling, falling into her memories. Not long after, she sat up straight again.

"It seems so. My father and brother died on the battlefield of the Hakuma Star Domain."

"Don't you want to avenge your own family?"

"Ah~, no, I don't."

The Mother of Lightning stretched her body lazily.

"What does their life or death have to do with me? However..."

The Mother of Lightning suddenly sat bolt upright, her eyes gleaming sharply as she ran her scarlet tongue over her lips.

"The Golden Bulwark's head would truly be a collectible worth keeping. You clever little schemer, Madahak, thank you for the intelligence. But if you want to use this to make me back down, you had better give up on that idea."

Looking exactly as though she had him firmly in her grasp, the Mother of Lightning fearlessly stared at the livid Lord of the Red Lotus.

"Hurry up. Otherwise, you will lose more and more Magic Towers."

As if to verify the Mother of Lightning's words, a giant came running in from outside. The Lord of the Red Lotus's already terrible expression grew even uglier.

Boom!

A blast of fiery red energy shot out, blasting the giant who had just reached the collapsed doors and sending him flying backward.

"Fine! Fifty-fifty it is!"

A victorious smile appeared on the Mother of Lightning's face, instantly followed by cold, radiating killing intent.

"Intelligence!"

Now that the decision had been made, the Lord of the Red Lotus, though pained by the cost, no longer dwelled on his losses, swiftly slipping into the role of an ally.

"The enemy is divided into two factions, one in the South and one in The North. The Southern one consists of Dragons. Aside from the Golden Bulwark, there is also a White Dragon steering a Floating Tower. The Northern one is slightly weaker; they are a group of Mages who command ravens. So far, we have only spotted one High-Tier Legend among them, but they also have a Floating Tower."

The Mother of Lightning's expression turned solemn. She finally understood why the ever-calculating Lord of the Red Lotus was willing to pay such a great price to ask for aid.

"Two Floating Towers, three High-Tier Legends, and Dragons cooperating with Mages. It seems you have stirred up a lot of trouble."

The Mother of Lightning gave the Lord of the Red Lotus a meaningful look. The Lord of the Red Lotus was terrified that the helper he had finally managed to invite would back out.

"Summon your Floating Tower. I will prepare first. While the enemy still hasn't learned of you, we will concentrate our power to wipe out the weaker Mage faction. When that happens, our odds of victory will be much greater."

The Mother of Lightning sneered at the Lord of the Red Lotus's petty schemes, but she did not object. In the blink of an eye, she vanished from the hall.

...

On the other side, after the White Dragon Lord steered the White Tower and destroyed a Magic Tower, he hurried toward the next Magic Tower.

Seeing the worried expression on the White Dragon Lord's face, the Ancient Gold Dragon felt somewhat puzzled.

"Amos, what's wrong?"

"Senior, the Lord of the Red Lotus has not appeared for a long time."

Since the battle at the Tower of the Raging Sea, the White Dragon Lord had destroyed five more Magic Towers. During this time, the Lord of the Red Lotus never showed up. When communicating with Grimos Raven, the White Dragon Lord found out that the Lord of the Red Lotus had not appeared in The North, either.

Unusual occurrences must harbor sinister causes. The Lord of the Red Lotus had either given up and fled, or was accumulating power, waiting for an opportunity to turn the tables. The White Dragon Lord leaned more toward the latter.

"Amos, could the Lord of the Red Lotus have returned to the Sincaro Titan World to ask for reinforcements?"

The White Dragon Lord followed the Ancient Gold Dragon's question and thought deeper. Titans were social creatures. The forces the Lord of the Red Lotus could directly control were his own kin and some Titans who had sworn loyalty to his name. These Titans were the garrison of the Muxinge Plane, along with the trusted followers led by the Lord of the Red Lotus.

In this battle for the plane, the Lord of the Red Lotus had certainly brought all the forces he could mobilize, yet he still could not defeat his opponents.

Standing in the Lord of the Red Lotus's position, he either had to abandon this plane, or ask the other kin in the Sincaro Titan World for reinforcements. But the question was how many reinforcements he could actually bring.

"The Raven Council is requesting a transmission," the Tower Spirit announced.

The prompt woke the pondering White Dragon Lord, and he quickly connected.

"Requesting support, we are under attack! The Lord of the Red Lotus brought the Mother of Lightning, and there is also a Floating Tower..."

The transmission cut off, and the White Dragon Lord's expression turned grim. According to their previous assumptions, within the same world, there were three major factions or two major factions. There were bound to be conflicts of interest between them. The possibility of the Mother of Lightning supporting the Lord of the Red Lotus was extremely small. He hadn't expected it to actually happen. What the White Dragon Lord and Grimos Raven hadn't expected even more was that they would encounter a Floating Tower during this operation.

Across the multiverse, Floating Towers were not a dime a dozen. They were only widely present in giant planes, serving as the trump cards for top factions in large planes, whereas the Sincaro Titan World was merely a Medium Material Plane.

"Dammit! This Titan plane only has three High-Tier Legends! Where did they get a Floating Tower, the crystal of advanced magical civilization?!"

The White Dragon Lord did not know the answer to the question, but he knew he had to do something. Thoughts raced through his mind like lightning.

The Lord of the Red Lotus had originally not possessed a Floating Tower. Since the Mother of Lightning and the Floating Tower appeared together, the Floating Tower most likely belonged to her. In that case, the Mother of Lightning, who possessed a Floating Tower, surely had a stronger faction than the Lord of the Red Lotus.

If the Titans under the Mother of Lightning had also come along, then the Raven Council's situation was very dangerous. The White Dragon Lord pondered a way to break the deadlock in his mind.

Seeing the White Dragon Lord stop in place, the Ancient Gold Dragon was somewhat puzzled.

"Amos, the Raven Council needs support. What are you still waiting for?"

The White Dragon Lord thought of an idea.

"The Raven Council won't be defeated in a short time. We're going to the center of the plane to attack the main tower of the Magic Tower Defense System."

Saying so, the White Dragon Lord controlled the White Tower to turn around and flew toward the center of the plane. As he steered the White Tower, the White Dragon Lord explained to the Ancient Gold Dragon.

"The distance from here to the battlefield in The North, where the Raven Council is located, is farther than to the center of the plane. If we went to support the Raven Council, we would waste a huge amount of time on the journey. It's better to just directly attack the main tower at the center of the plane."

The Ancient Gold Dragon immediately understood the White Dragon Lord's thoughts. The main tower at the center of the plane was the umbilical cord connecting the various Magic Towers; therefore, its role was exceptionally important. Furthermore, the main tower was often the location of the Interplanar Portal.

If such an important main tower was attacked, either the Mother of Lightning or the Lord of the Red Lotus would definitely return to defend it. By then, the Raven Council would only be dealing with one High-Tier Legend and one Floating Tower. As long as Grimos Raven was not useless, there would at least be no risk of the tower being destroyed and everyone dying.

The White Tower rapidly streaked across the sky, avoiding the Magic Towers along the way as it flew toward the center of the plane.

At the center of the plane, a main tower three times the height of a normal Magic Tower stood on a steep cliff, piercing straight into the clouds like a sharp sword.

As the core of the Magic Tower Defense System, the main tower was built at a high cost. Aside from mobility, its other functions were no weaker than those of a Floating Tower, and might even be stronger.

Before the White Tower had even approached, it was discovered by the main tower's early warning system. The Lord of the Red Lotus, who was currently besieging the Raven Council Floating Tower, had a sudden change in expression.
