White Dragon Lord

Chapter 222: News of a Forerunner

  • Next Chapter

The Mother of Tidal Snow, Delixion Qialam, was furious. She had just eaten her fill and gone to sleep when some unknown member of her kind showed up at her door to cause trouble.

'Have you no common decency? Let a dragon sleep!'

The more Delixion thought about it, the angrier she grew. Flapping her wings, she rose from her nest hidden beneath an icy crevice, slipped through the narrow fissure into the sky, and glared viciously at the White Dragon Lord.

"I am the master of the Frigid Tundra! The great Mother of Tidal Snow, Delixion Qialam! Where did a wild dragon like you come from, daring to challenge me!"

Clearly, Delixion had mistaken the White Dragon Lord for a wild dragon looking to snatch her territory.

But upon closer inspection, Delixion noticed her challenger was two full sizes larger than herself. A spike of fear instantly cooled her anger. A dragon's strength was typically proportional to its size, and this was especially true within the same species.

"The North Wind Ice Plain to the west is unclaimed territory. You can go there!"

Delixion could not help feeling proud of her quick wit. Not only would this lure away the invader, it would conveniently screw over her old neighbor in the process.

Although the original master of the North Wind Ice Plain, Salilina Aldrich, had been forced to leave, Delixion knew her old neighbor was not dead.

Once the heat died down, Salilina could return to her territory at any time. When she discovered her nest occupied by a strange white dragon, a vicious battle would be inevitable.

'When that time comes, I can reap the spoils of another's conflict.'

'Ohohoho!'

Delixion had quite the active imagination, but the White Dragon Lord's voice shattered her beautiful fantasy.

"Greetings, respected lady. There seems to be a slight misunderstanding between us. I am not here to fight you. I want to purchase a batch of dragon beasts."

"Hah?! Say that again!"

Delixion suspected something was wrong with her hearing. Someone actually wanted to buy dragon beasts? Was this dragon an idiot?!

The White Dragon Lord patiently repeated himself.

"I said, in the future, if any dragon beasts are born, do not kill them or drive them away. Keep them and sell them to me. I will pay a high price—ten thousand gold coins each!"

To the current White Castle, problems that could be solved with gold coins were not problems at all. Besides, even if he bought ten thousand dragon beasts, it would only cost one hundred million gold coins.

This time, Delixion heard him clearly. Although she did not know the White Dragon Lord's purpose for buying dragon beasts, only a fool would turn down easy money.

"No problem, but I do not have any on hand right now. If I get some in the future, how should I notify you?"

The White Dragon Lord replied.

"Just send them to the North Wind Ice Plain. The master of the North Wind Ice Plain will receive them."

Over the past year, the White Dragon Lord had gathered all sorts of intelligence, but two pieces stood above the rest.

First, a week after the Devils intercepted the Demon Church's long-plotted Flesh Giant, the creature appeared on the Blood War Battlefield as an enemy. Relying on the immortal Flesh Giant, the Devils conquered two Demon fortresses in quick succession.

This time, the Demons had truly lifted a rock only to drop it on their own feet.

Second, the high priest of the Northern Barbarian Church, Archbishop Ogsger, had finally been outlived by the Dragon Mother. Upon receiving news of Ogsger's funeral, the White Dragon Lord immediately notified the Dragon Mother, who had fled far overseas.

Once the Dragon Mother finished handling her affairs overseas, she would return to the North Wind Ice Plain. When that time came, the White Dragon Lord would pay her a fee to turn the North Wind Ice Plain into a transit station for dragon beasts.

Delixion raised a brow at his words.

"The master of the North Wind Ice Plain? Salilina Aldrich? She is coming back?!"

The White Dragon Lord nodded.

"Yes. Ogsger is dead, and the master of the ice plain is bound to return."

Delixion curiously sized up the White Dragon Lord.

"Your Excellency seems quite familiar with Salilina. May I ask your name?"

"Amos Aldrich."

Delixion stared in shock.

"The Master of the Overseas Archipelagos?"

Nowadays, when speaking of the most famous dragons in Nordhill, the Metallic Dragons had the Grand Duke Silver Dragon, the Silver Dragon Scholar, and the rising gold dragon star, Leopold Chodmartin. The Chromatic Dragon Clan had the red dragon Flame of the Molten Mountain, the blue dragon Thunder Tyrant, and the White Dragon Lord who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere—Amos Aldrich.

Delixion had naturally heard the great name of her fellow white dragon. He was one of the wealthiest dragons in Nordhill. Her eyes darted about as an idea took shape in her mind.

"Lord Amos, are you looking for dragon beasts? I have two pieces of information to sell you. How about it?"

The White Dragon Lord was intrigued.

"Oh? What kind of information? Let us hear it. I will pay you according to its value."

Just as famous as the White Dragon Lord was his spirit of honoring contracts. Delixion spoke.

"The first piece of news: at Camos Snowy Peak in the southern part of the Great Glacier, a white dragon laid eggs three months ago. You might be able to try your luck there."

Having said her piece, Delixion said no more, simply looking at the White Dragon Lord with obvious intent.

The White Dragon Lord pondered for a moment before speaking.

"The value of this information is not high. By the time I rush over there, the dragon eggs might have already hatched. Therefore, I will give you one thousand gold coins."

The White Dragon Lord pulled one thousand gold coins directly from his Dimensional Bag and handed them over.

Delixion accepted the gold coins and continued.

"As you know, the White Dragon Clan's attitude toward dragon beasts has always been to toss them straight out of the nest. In the harsh environment of the Great Glacier, it is very difficult for these newborn dragon beasts to survive for three days. But there are always a few lucky ones who manage to live for various reasons."

The White Dragon Lord replied.

"Lady Delixion, if your information is simply that there are dragon beasts scattered across the Great Glacier, then this news holds no value either. Once word spreads that I am collecting dragon beasts, plenty of people will deliver them right into my hands."

Delixion shook her head.

"No, no, no! I can guarantee that this information of mine is unique."

Delixion's confident words piqued the White Dragon Lord's curiosity. Seeing him adopt a listening posture, she continued with satisfaction.

"To the east of the Great Glacier, near the ocean, there is a very strange member of our kind."

Delixion gave the White Dragon Lord an odd look.

"He shares your hobby of collecting dragon beasts. This bizarre kin of ours keeps dragon beasts penned up in his underwater nest. Furthermore, I discovered that he is actually teaching those dragon beasts. A few of them have even learned the dragon language."

The White Dragon Lord was greatly shocked upon hearing this.

To think that the White Dragon Clan actually had such a visionary Forerunner.

The White Dragon Lord brought out five dazzling diamonds and handed them over.

"Excellent. I am very satisfied with this information. Here is your payment. Tell me his exact location."

Delixion delightfully tucked the diamonds away. The market price for a single diamond like this was ten thousand gold coins, and if sold through special channels, the price would rise even higher.

Following the directions provided by Delixion, the White Dragon Lord flew off toward the Forerunner.
