White Dragon Lord

Chapter 207: Amos the Toxic Support

  • Next Chapter

After charging out of the Protective Shield with the main force, the White Dragon Lord deliberately fell a half-step behind the Gold Dragon and rapidly chanted a spell.

"Frost Ward!"

The water vapor around the Gold Dragon instantly condensed. Four spiked ice shields formed in every direction, thoroughly protecting him.

At the same time, through Sky City's mental link, the White Dragon Lord transmitted a message to the council members.

The others paused for a moment before understanding the White Dragon Lord's plan.

With combat power barely reaching the level of a High-Tier Legend, the White Dragon Lord sat squarely at the bottom of the council's ranks.

If he joined the frontline, his mere Legendary Rank melee strength would put him at tremendous risk of perishing.

If he hung back, his Level 19 spellcasting level and the magic of his Dragon Inheritance made him a Legendary Rank Mage at best. Standing among a group of High-Tier Legend Mages, he wouldn't be much use either.

Caught between advancing and hanging back, the White Dragon Lord found himself in an incredibly awkward position.

However, he possessed an advantage the others lacked: his spellcasting outclassed the melee fighters, and his physical hardiness ensured the enemy couldn't instantly kill him.

Therefore, Amos chose the most suitable tactic. Hovering on the edge of the battlefield, he used his magic to play the role of a firefighter.

The message the White Dragon Lord had sent to the council was simple.

"You advance; I'll provide cover."

The melee council members clashed with the hostile High-Tier Legends, pairing off for brutal combat.

The collision of martial skills and magic tore streaks of thunder across the sky, echoing in an endless, rolling barrage.

The massive shockwaves from the clashing energies formed pockets of vacuum in the air. Expanding outward, these ripples collided with shockwaves from other duels. Some canceled each other out and vanished, while others merged to create even more terrifying blasts.

The aftermath of these clashes whipped the surrounding sky into a frenzy. Chaotic air currents blew in erratic directions, alternating between fast and slow—a turbulence far more complex than the most treacherous ocean undercurrents.

In such a battlefield, an ordinary Legendary Rank expert would find it incredibly difficult just to hold their ground, let alone fight!

Only High-Tier Legend powerhouses could brave the chaotic conditions and engage in fierce combat.

The Gold Dragon, Leopold Chodmartin, was fighting the Thousand-Handed Demon. Relying on the formidable strength, exceptional defense, and superb close-quarters combat skills of his race, he tangled with the terrifying Demon.

But even the best make mistakes.

The Thousand-Handed Demon seized upon a flaw in the Gold Dragon's guard. Over a dozen disgusting, blood-red tentacles dripping with foul-smelling slime struck out simultaneously, converging from all directions to seal off the Gold Dragon's escape routes.

Watching the rapidly approaching tentacles leave white contrails in the air, the Gold Dragon felt a chill run down his spine. He steeled himself, prepared to take the blow and suffer the resulting injuries.

Suddenly, the White Dragon Lord's voice echoed in his mind.

"Fly up!"

With no time to think, the Gold Dragon reflexively flapped his wings, surging straight up toward the tentacles descending from above.

Just as the tentacles were about to whip the Gold Dragon's head, the White Dragon Lord—hovering at the edge of the battlefield and overlooking the entire fight—finished his spell and fired an icy blue ray from his fingertip.

Master Tier magic—Flash Freeze Ray!

In the nick of time, the Flash Freeze Ray precisely hit the section of the tentacle falling toward the Gold Dragon's head, instantly freezing it into an ice pillar.

The frozen pillar smashed against the Gold Dragon's head and shattered into pieces.

Devoid of the demonic energy within and the slime on its surface, the sheer physical impact dealt no real damage to the Gold Dragon's absurd defenses. He broke free of the tentacles' encirclement.

The Thousand-Handed Demon let out a furious roar, sending tangible soundwaves rippling outward.

Right now, its hatred for the White Dragon surpassed its hatred for anyone else on the battlefield.

Team fights can be lost, but the healer must die—this was exactly the principle at play.

Abandoning its pursuit of the Gold Dragon, the Thousand-Handed Demon lunged toward the White Dragon Lord.

The White Dragon Lord's mind raced. Evidently, his battlefield intelligence was supported not only by the Tower Spirit but also by the Gold Finger, which possessed even more astonishing processing power.

Sensing the approaching danger, the White Dragon Lord hastily executed a strategic retreat. Twisting his body and fiercely flapping his wings, he pulled away from the Thousand-Handed Demon.

For any creature present to challenge the sky's overlords—the Dragon Race—in flight speed and aerial agility was simply asking for humiliation.

The Thousand-Handed Demon couldn't even touch the White Dragon's tail before the returning Gold Dragon firmly pinned it back down.

Once safe, the White Dragon Lord returned to the edge of the fray to continue saving his teammates from peril.

After the White Dragon successfully blocked several fatal attacks for the fiercely battling council members, they all recognized his importance as a god-tier support. They spontaneously began to protect him.

Under the collective protection of his teammates, the White Dragon Lord's situation grew even safer. Practically no one could interfere with him on the edge of the battlefield, allowing him to play a massive role in the conflict.

At the same time, this drew an enormous amount of aggro from the enemy.

The forces of the Demon Church now hated this super toxic support to the bone!

In the distance, the spellcasters of the Demon Church had also taken notice of the White Dragon Lord.

A high-ranking member of the Demon Church rapidly chanted twisted, profane incantations.

Streaks of ominous, reddish-black Magical Energy shot from his hands. The energy clusters arched through the air, trailing black, comet-like tails as they hurtled toward the White Dragon Lord.

The Gold Finger operated at maximum speed, calculating escape routes.

Amos felt a headache coming on when he realized that no matter how he dodged, he couldn't completely evade the barrage of black Magical Energy.

But the situation left no room for hesitation. The White Dragon Lord instantly chose the evasion route that would result in the least damage.

Just as the black Magical Energy was about to hit the White Dragon, support from his teammates in the rear arrived.

A divine shield cast by a High-Tier Legend priest appeared in front of the White Dragon Lord.

The black demonic energy crashed into the divine shield and turned into a cloud of black smoke, corroding the barrier with a loud sizzling sound.

Behind the shield, the White Dragon Lord hastily flapped his wings, shifting his position to hide behind a colossal, fleshy mass of a Demon.

This massive meatball of a Demon was thoroughly engrossed in fighting a dwarf and had no idea it had just become the White Dragon's meat shield against magical attacks.

The White Dragon Lord casually tossed a magic shield onto Muradin Firebeard. The red-bearded dwarf immediately threw caution to the wind. Swinging a battleaxe in his left hand and a Warhammer in his right like a windmill, he battered the Demon until it howled in pain.

Faced with the White Dragon Lord, who was as slippery as an eel, the Demon Church had no viable solutions.

However, driven by a suicidal frenzy, the Demon Church would not be defeated in the short term.

It was only a matter of time, though, before they fell.

One of the only two genuine High-Tier Legends among them finally spoke up.

"Lord High Priest, we cannot wait any longer!"
