White Dragon Lord
Chapter 192: Application for the Magic Tower
"If this Flame Demon truly barged into Storm Bay, he is courting death."
The White Dragon Lord frowned, sensing that things were not so simple.
Would the Flame Demon Lord, Ogresa, willingly charge into the blatantly perilous waters of Storm Bay?!
Hmm...
Then again, Ogresa was a demon.
Those chaotic and evil lunatics were capable of anything.
Setting the matter aside, the White Dragon Lord closed his claws, crushing the Flame Bead in his grasp.
The Flame Bead dissolved into pure fire elements and vanished into the air.
"Senior Adelaide, there is no time to lose. I will return to Nordhill tomorrow. However, constructing an Interplanar Portal is no trivial matter. It will take anywhere from a year to two or three before I can return to the Madilan World."
The ancient gold dragon nodded in understanding."Amos, when you teleport, could you bring the dragon eggs with you? I do not want these little ones to suffer the same fate as their parents here in the Madilan World."
Dragons were magical creatures. The higher the concentration of magical elements in the environment, the better the embryos inside the dragon eggs would develop.
The White Dragon Lord did not hesitate.
"I can, but we will need to prepare a few more Elemental Crystals."
"Not a problem."
...
At noon the following day, on Dragon Island.
One hundred and seventy-two dragons gathered together, forming a massive circle in a clearing.
At the very center of the circle, the White Dragon Lord and the Nether Panther were surrounded by eighteen dragon eggs of various colors. Arranged in a specific pattern around the eggs lay a scattering of Elemental Crystals, resembling a dense ring of diamonds.
The White Dragon Lord nodded to the ancient gold dragon in farewell, then rapidly chanted an incantation.
As the profound syllables echoed out, the pure magical elements within the Elemental Crystals were extracted by the spell. Guided by the white dragon's spiritual power, this energy poured into the circular magic array beneath his feet.
The magical energy flooded in from the edges and flowed toward the center like liquid mercury, ultimately converging in the very middle and illuminating the entire magic array.
Amidst a brilliant flash of magical light, the White Dragon Lord, the Nether Panther, and the dragon eggs vanished.
Enduring a wave of dizziness from the ultra-long-distance teleportation, the White Dragon Lord looked up to see a familiar ceiling and felt the rich magical elements saturating the air.
Nordhill!
The teleportation hall of White Castle!
The joy of returning home filled his heart. Amos carefully stowed the dragon eggs away, pushed open the doors, and headed toward the main hall of White Castle.
On the second floor of White Castle, the slumbering Felicia, Elena, and Willy suddenly sensed a familiar aura. They jerked their heads up and hurried down to the first-floor hall, where they instantly spotted a familiar figure.
"Oh! Amos, where have you been running off to these past dozen days?!"
Felicia asked, while Willy and Elena stared at their elder brother with equal concern.
The White Dragon Lord felt his heart warm at his younger sisters' concern.
"It is a long story..."
After giving his siblings a general summary of his disappearance, the White Dragon Lord asked a question of his own.
"What have you all been doing during the dozen days I was gone?"
Elena shrugged.
"Well, I thought you had been buried alive. I led some forces to dig open the underground passage you went down, but we just ended up uncovering a flooded section of the Dark Lands."
Willy spoke up proudly.
"Following the plans you made earlier, Felicia and I took the gray dwarf prince, Thaurissan Darkforge, and the Earth Dragon King, Kemosg, and successfully conquered the second largest island—Fulin Island!"
Willy paused for a moment before continuing.
"However, the beast overlord of that island was an incredibly ill-tempered honey badger. It refused to surrender even at the cost of its life, so we had to kill it!"
The White Dragon Lord felt a pang of regret over the death of a legendary beast, but it was nothing to lose sleep over.
"Has there been any news from the Council?"
"Because you managed to destroy a demon underground base, the Council rewarded White Castle with thirty thousand points. Also, that female mage sent someone over with information on the Flame Demon."
"Oh? Where is it?"
"Right here."
Willy pulled out a Magic Crystal, and the White Dragon Lord accepted it.
Denise Clive, a High-Tier Legend from the Northland Witches' Council, had accepted a Balrog Horn from the White Dragon Lord and promised to search for records regarding the Flame Demon upon her return to the Council.
However, the White Dragon Lord had immediately gotten trapped in the Dark Lands, and a teleportation accident subsequently stranded him in the Madilan World. He had been unable to view the detailed information on the Flame Demon until now.
Until this very moment.
The White Dragon Lord channeled his magic power and activated the Magic Crystal.
An invisible force lifted the Magic Crystal, suspending it in midair. It emanated a brilliant blue magical light as the projection of the female mage materialized, her crisp, cool voice echoing from the crystal.
"Lord Amos, here is the information you requested regarding the Flame Demon."
"The Flame Demon Lord, Ogresa, was originally a strong contender for rulership over the 132nd Layer of the Bottomless Abyss. However, thirteen thousand years ago, during the early stages of the demon invasion of Nordhill, he was defeated by the Continental Allied Forces."
"However, the battle took place too close to Kumlinge, the renowned elven city of sculptures. Fearing that the Flame Demon's Body-Immolation Burst upon death would destroy such an important city, the Elven Empress ordered several elven elders to seal him away on the spot."
"Combat habits..."
"Known spells used..."
After the female mage concluded her report, the Magic Crystal lost its luster.
Having listened to the intelligence on the Flame Demon Lord, Ogresa, the White Dragon Lord now had a general understanding of his enemy's combat habits and preferred spells.
Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated in a hundred battles.
The next time he encountered the Flame Demon, the White Dragon Lord would be able to formulate a targeted tactical response.
Assuming, of course, that there would even be a next time.
Pushing the matter of the Flame Demon to the back of his mind for now, the White Dragon Lord tallied up White Castle's points. He realized that their accumulated points were finally enough to invite an inscription master from the Council to help him construct his ideal Magic Tower.
The White Dragon Lord retrieved his golden Councilor's Badge.
"Tower Spirit Seven, I am submitting an application to the Council. Send a professional team to assist in constructing a Magic Tower."
Tower Spirit Seven's emotionless, magically synthesized voice chimed in response.
"Ding—verifying clearance. Clearance granted. Greetings, Councilor Amos. Please specify all of your requirements for the Magic Tower."
The White Dragon Lord had already figured out exactly what he wanted.
"First, for the Magic Tower I require, I will cover the cost of the materials myself, and its overall volume must be significantly larger than a standard Magic Tower."
"Second, the Magic Tower must be designed with reserved construction space so that it can be upgraded into a Floating Tower in the future."
"Third..."
"..."
After the White Dragon Lord explicitly outlined all of his basic requirements for the Magic Tower, the Tower Spirit began calculating the associated costs.
"Calculations complete. The required payment is 112,873 points. Please confirm."
"Confirmed!"
"Points have been successfully deducted. Your remaining balance is 20,478 points. The construction team will arrive at White Castle as soon as possible."
