White Dragon Lord

Chapter 188: Overseas Dragon Island

"Heh, humans!"

History is always strikingly similar. In Nordhill, humans learned forging from the Dwarves, magic from the Elves, and combat from the Orcs.

The result?

The Dwarves were forced to abandon the fertile plains, migrating en masse to the Thunder Mountains in the center of the continent. Their remaining population could only establish a single kingdom.

The Elves managed a more graceful exit. Under the pretext of a sharp population decline during the world-ending war, they voluntarily withdrew from the continental stage, retaining only the Elven Forest and some surrounding lands.

The Orcs fared the worst. After losing the struggle for continental hegemony against humanity, they were driven to the western plateaus. If human soldiers weren't physically incapable of fighting at such high altitudes, the Orc Race would have been wiped out long ago.

Even so, humanity didn't leave the Orcs alone. All the human kingdoms joined forces and pooled their resources to build Sunset Fortress. It guarded the Great Sunset Prairie, securely trapping the Orcs on the plateau.

The White Dragon Lord spoke.

"Sanibel, tell me about the major factions in the Madilan World."

The little brass dragon nodded.

"The Madilan World is largely divided among three powers: the strongest human empire, the Luonan Empire; the Kingdom Alliance, led by three major kingdoms; and finally, our Dragon Race's proxies, the Orcs."

"The Luonan Empire is situated between the Kingdom Alliance and the Orc tribes. They occupy the most fertile land on the continent and boast the greatest strength. The Imperial Emperor possesses ambitions to match his power and has been constantly plotting to unify the continent."

"Right now, the Orc Race and the Kingdom Alliance have an unspoken agreement. Whichever side the Luonan Empire attacks, the other will strike its rear. The empire can't sustain a war on two fronts, which has bought the Madilan World twenty years of peace."

Listening to the little brass dragon's explanation, the White Dragon Lord gained a rough understanding of the situation on the continent. However, he soon frowned, sensing something amiss.

"Are humans and Orcs the only two races in this world?"

"Are you talking about the Elves and Dwarves, Senior? The Dwarves are extinct, though maybe a few remnants still survive deep underground. As for the Elven Race, they sailed away from this continent long before the final decisive battle between the dragons and the Titans. Legend says they crossed Storm Bay and found a new home."

The White Dragon Lord asked, puzzled.

"What is Storm Bay?"

The little brass dragon's tone turned solemn.

"Storm Bay is a stretch of ocean shrouded in fierce winds and thunderstorms. It completely surrounds the Madilan World. It existed long before our Dragon Race arrived in this world, and it is extremely bizarre. Even a dragon will lose its bearings once inside."

'Interesting!'

The White Dragon Lord rubbed his chin, deeply intrigued by the little dragon's mention of Storm Bay. Across the multiverse, any place capable of stripping a dragon of its sense of direction almost certainly hid a massive secret.

However, now was not the time to explore unknown mysteries. He needed to check on his kin in this world first.

The White Dragon Lord glanced at the little brass dragon.

"Little guy, which direction is the Overseas Archipelago?"

Seeing the ominous look in the white dragon's eyes, the little brass dragon shrank back.

"In the South. Senior, you just need to fly south. About a hundred kilometers off the coast, you'll spot a massive island. It's very easy to find. Oh, right, I just remembered something I have to do. I'll be going now, hahaha, goodbye!"

With that, the little brass dragon flapped their wings and prepared to flee.

The White Dragon Lord raised a wing and swatted the little brass dragon right out of the air like a fly.

"Ouch!"

The little brass dragon crashed to the ground with a cry of pain, only to find themselves snatched up by a massive claw.

Gripping the runaway brat, the White Dragon Lord flapped his wings and soared into the sky.

...

The next morning over the southern waters of the Madilan World.

The fiery red sun had just peeked over the horizon. Thick fog blanketed the ocean surface, churning and rolling in the sea breeze like dry ice setting the mood on a stage.

The White Dragon Lord flew through the sky with a listless little brass dragon trailing behind him.

Having failed several escape attempts, the little brass dragon followed behind the white dragon in quiet resignation.

Looking at the little dragon's deeply aggrieved expression, the White Dragon Lord teased, "Sanibel, you're about to go home. Aren't you happy?"

"So happy..."

The little brass dragon managed a smile that looked worse than crying.

The White Dragon Lord laughed heartily.

In the Madilan World, the Titans were not yet extinct, and the remaining population of the Dragon Race was incredibly small.

For this reason, the dragons maintained a communal lifestyle, living together on the Overseas Dragon Island.

Moreover, Metallic Dragons and Chromatic Dragons lived side by side. While the two great factions couldn't be called intimate, no irreconcilable conflicts had broken out between them either.

Thus, the little brass dragon wasn't the least bit afraid of the white dragon, despite him being a Chromatic Dragon. They had even tried to run away multiple times; yet before they could make a move, the sharp-eyed white dragon would spot them and shoot them a warning glare.

Under the guide's direction, the White Dragon Lord quickly spotted the massive island on the sea. Its main body was obscured by thick fog, so he could only see a few towering peaks piercing the clouds like sharp swords. They were crowned with white clouds and wreathed in morning mist.

Although he couldn't see the exact layout of the Overseas Dragon Island, the scattered peaks alone proved the island was far from small. Otherwise, it could never accommodate over a hundred dragons living together.

The White Dragon Lord grabbed the little brass dragon and accelerated toward their destination.

Roar!

With a resonant roar, the White Dragon Lord announced his arrival.

Hearing the unfamiliar call, the dragons within the island answered with roars of their own.

Clear and deep roars echoed continuously across the archipelago.

Red, gold, green, white... dragons of all colors flew out from every corner of the island.

Looking at his colorful kin on the island, the White Dragon Lord frowned.

The closure of the elemental conduits had heavily impacted the dragons living in this world.

Dragons were magical creatures. Without magical elements, these native-born dragons were universally scrawny, much like malnourished children back on Earth.

Even the Gold Dragon and the red dragon—the respective leaders of the two great dragon factions—didn't exceed twenty meters in length.

Measuring over twenty meters himself, the White Dragon Lord towered among them, instantly drawing everyone's attention.

The native dragons exchanged bewildered glances. Finally, a Gold Dragon that barely reached eighteen meters in length flew forward.

"Who are you?"

The White Dragon Lord released the little brass dragon, who immediately flew toward a pair of older brass dragons. Amos replied, "Who I am isn't important. What's important is that I can take you away from this world."

The White Dragon Lord's words struck the ears of the native dragons like a thunderclap.

After a brief silence, the native dragons began whispering amongst themselves.

At this moment, a deep voice rang out from behind the dragons.

"Silence!"
