White Dragon Lord
Chapter 180: Thousand-Handed Demon
"You will all die!!!" The White Dragon Lord saw the tangible madness in Birrell's eyes. Sensing something was terribly wrong, he quickly pulled back.
The Benthic Demon Fish also sensed the shift in momentum and fled into the water. Birrell had completely lost his mind!
"Ramsdenvalen, great Thousand-Handed Demon, I am willing to sacrifice everything I have! I beseech you to destroy every living thing here!!!" he roared in Abyssal.
"Ah!!!"
Blood-red bubbles emerged from the void, completely enveloping Birrell. Amidst his agonizing screams, the crimson bubbles rapidly expanded like a violent chemical reaction, and bloody tentacles shot out from within them.
A moment later, a terrifying Demon appeared where Birrell had stood.
The Demon possessed a spherical body ten meters in diameter and was dark red all over. A bloody maw filled with sharp fangs occupied half its face, while its two bloodthirsty, maddened eyes were only the size of mung beans.
Furthermore, its entire body was covered in slippery, octopus-like tentacles devoid of suction cups. The appendages twisted mindlessly, drifting like seaweed.
"Gahahaha!"
The evil, deep, and maniacal laughter echoed throughout the Underworld, sending shivers down the spine of anyone who heard it.The White Dragon Lord sensed the intensity of the Demon's energy. It was at least a High-Tier Legend (Level 26) that had passed the initial stage. A massive headache gripped him, and he prepared to release his seal.
Suddenly, Tower Spirit Seven's emotionless voice rang out.
"Councilor Amos, five days ago, Councilor Hajir requested to communicate with you. Please reply immediately upon receiving this message."
Eh?!
The White Dragon Lord immediately realized what was happening.
Five days ago, the Dragon Brother and Dragon Sister had noticed their older brother had not returned. Elena then asked her master, the High-Tier Legendary Level druid Master Hajir, to use the Tower Spirit to track the White Dragon Lord's location.
However, because the barrier had blocked the Tower Spirit's signal, the White Dragon had never received the message.
Now that the barrier had been destroyed by the Nether Panther, Yuir, the Tower Spirit was able to connect to the White Dragon Lord through the Councilor's Badge.
The White Dragon Lord hastily communicated with the Tower Spirit.
"Emergency! A powerful High-Tier Legendary Level Demon has appeared at my location! Requesting backup! Requesting backup!"
"Ding—emergency protocol activated. The Supreme Emergency Squad has been notified. Searching for a safe teleportation point. Reinforcements are estimated to arrive at the battlefield in 30 seconds."
The White Dragon Lord breathed a sigh of relief. He stared at the still-cackling Demon with a look reserved for absolute fools.
Seemingly sensing the White Dragon Lord's strange gaze, Birrell—or rather, the clone of the Thousand-Handed Demon, Ramsdenvalen—turned to face him.
The tentacles on the Thousand-Handed Demon snapped out like lightning, shooting straight toward the White Dragon Lord.
The White Dragon Lord beat his wings and took to the sky to evade, but a tentacle still managed to graze him.
Hiss!
The White Dragon Lord gasped sharply. A piercing pain flared from the grazed area. With no time to check the wound, he hurriedly pulled further away.
The Thousand-Handed Demon looked a bit surprised that its strike hadn't killed the White Dragon Lord, but it paid it no mind. The number of Dragons it had slaughtered on the Blood War Battlefield could almost fill both its hands. It shifted its gaze to the much weaker Benthic Demon Fish.
Persimmons should be picked by squeezing the soft ones; the tough bones were best saved for last.
More tentacles shot forward. The White Dragon Lord watched as they stretched out like a frog's tongue lashing toward the water's surface. They broke through the current and coiled tightly around a Benthic Demon Fish.
The Thousand-Handed Demon's tentacles violently retracted, dragging the Benthic Demon Fish along.
It ignored the creature's struggles and psychic magic attacks, aligning the Benthic Demon Fish's head with its own fang-filled maw.
The giant mouth snapped shut. The Benthic Demon Fish stopped struggling, disappearing piece by piece into the Demon's maw.
Ramsdenvalen stuck out a long, barbed tongue and licked the fresh blood from its lips before turning its sight on the remaining Benthic Demon Fish.
As long as it fulfilled Birrell's dying wish, the cultist's remnant soul inside this vessel would dissipate completely. Then, this body would fully become its own clone.
To obtain a High-Tier Legendary Level clone with almost no effort put Ramsdenvalen in an excellent mood. It continued its hunt for the Benthic Demon Fish.
The White Dragon Lord sighed in relief, finally finding a moment to inspect his wound. He saw that on the leg grazed by the tentacle, the surface of his white scales was coated in a layer of viscous red liquid.
The liquid was highly corrosive.
The White Dragon Lord used magic to scrape the red liquid off and washed the wound with water, which finally made him feel a bit better.
Watching the Demon hunt down the Benthic Demon Fish, the White Dragon Lord felt heavily suppressed. Facing such an infamous, veteran Demon, he stood absolutely no chance of winning without releasing his seal.
At that moment, the White Dragon Lord sensed a familiar magical fluctuation coming from the edge of the cliff wall, far from the battlefield.
It was the magic fluctuation of a pinpoint teleportation!
Reinforcements had arrived!
Under the White Dragon Lord's expectant gaze, three figures materialized at the source of the magic fluctuation.
Two men and one woman.
One was a tower of a man standing two and a half meters tall, his muscles bulging like a bodybuilding champion from Amos's past life. He hefted a massive tower shield in one hand and held a heavy steel saber in the other, standing firmly in front of the two magical professionals.
Behind the Warrior stood an elven man wielding a staff and a female priest clutching a Sacred Scripture.
Without exception, all three were High-Tier Legends.
At that moment, Ramsdenvalen sensed something was terribly wrong and abandoned its pursuit of the sole surviving Benthic Demon Fish.
It remembered now—this was Nordhill!
This was the powerful plane that several Abyssal lords had plotted against for over ten thousand years without success.
Ramsdenvalen was already thinking about how to escape.
The moment he appeared in the Underworld, the elven Mage waved his staff, triggering the magic imbued within the weapon.
Legendary magic—Dimensional Anchor!
Invisible energy ripples spread out in every direction. The White Dragon Lord felt the space within the Underworld freeze over as if encased in ice. Let alone long-distance teleportation, even a short-distance Blink was now impossible.
The tower-like giant raised his shield and dragged his greatsword behind him. Stepping on thin air, he launched himself toward the Demon like a cannonball.
Combat skill—Sky Step!
While the giant was in midair, the female priest opened the Sacred Scripture in her hands. A golden divine spell flew from the holy book and landed on the giant, coating him in a layer of golden light.
Divine spell—Aegis of Light!
The elven Mage chanted an incantation at a breakneck pace.
A giant hand forged of pure magic reached out from the void beside the Demon and clamped down on it.
The White Dragon Lord cheered for them in his heart. One look was all it took to know they were a veteran team that had collaborated for years.
But the Thousand-Handed Demon, Ramsdenvalen, was no pushover!
Terrifying demonic energy erupted from the Demon, scattering the magical hand. All the tentacles on its body shot out, darting toward the incoming Warrior.
