Old Cai was also curious. “Then she must have created a new drug. But as for Ye Rong and Yuan Sheng, their situation isn’t good right now.”

Brother Long looked up. “Didn’t they beg for the antidote? In what way are they not doing well?”

Old Cai swallowed. “They did beg for the antidote, but the damage they sustained in the process is very real. They’re recuperating at my place now, and from what I’ve observed, they have two or three years left to live, at most.”

Brother Hu shivered. “That little bitch is truly ruthless!”

A Hall Master said softly, “Ye Rong and Yuan Sheng’s methods were dirty, and Chen Jiao is quite beautiful. With the filthy ideas they had, it’s no surprise she was so merciless.”

“But our attitude was decent enough. She just knocked us out and didn’t do anything else.”

Brother Hu rolled his eyes. “She didn’t do anything to *you*.”

‘He was force-fed a pill. Did these guys not see that?’

An Incense Master who had gone along with them chuckled. “From what I gathered from Chen Jiao, it’s not life-threatening. As long as it’s not a feud to the death, it can eventually be resolved.”

‘What could Brother Hu say? It seems that compared to Ye Rong and Yuan Sheng’s fate, his own outcome was considered pretty good?’

“Brother Long, the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong. How about I go home and get some rest?”

He didn’t want to stay here any longer; all he wanted was to hurry back and rest.

Brother Long and Leopard Brother exchanged a look. Leopard Brother came forward and put a hand on Brother Hu’s shoulder. Brother Long said with a smile, “You’ll rest here tonight. You’re not allowed to go anywhere.”

Brother Hu smirked. ‘He knew Brother Long wanted to observe what happened next. Fine. So what if I have to sleep with everyone watching? I, Brother Hu, am fearless!’

‘Besides, I’m exhausted. I’ve been worried all night and could use a good sleep. If I can’t go home, so be it. It saves me the trouble.’

With this thought to console himself, Brother Hu flopped onto the large sofa, and snores soon followed. Brother Long and Leopard Brother, who had been speaking in hushed tones, lowered their voices. Some of the others began to doze off as well, but no one slept soundly; they would periodically open their eyes to check on Brother Hu’s condition.

But no matter how much they watched, Brother Hu just lay there on the sofa, his snores shaking the room. Just a short while after he fell asleep, a smile suddenly spread across his face.

It was the smile of a sexually satisfied man. Everyone here was a man; they understood the meaning behind Brother Hu’s expression at a glance.

Leopard Brother said, “Is he dreaming about… you know?”

An Incense Master commented, “Brother Hu goes through women very quickly… He has countless lovers.”

A Hall Master added, “And pretty soon, he won’t be able to ‘use’ it anymore…”

Brother Long frowned. “Should we wake him up?”

Old Cai pushed up his glasses. “Not yet. Let’s wait and see.”

Leopard Brother said, “So he’s dreaming about doing *it*, and we’re just supposed to sit here and watch him?”

Brother Long said, “Quiet down. Let’s just wait and see.”

More than an hour passed like this. The expression on Brother Hu’s face grew increasingly lewd. Brother Long and Leopard Brother grew tired of watching him; seeing a grown man with such a debauched look was a real eyesore.

They too were growing sleepy. Old Cai, however, was wide awake. He sat on a stool beside the sofa, his eyes practically welded to Brother Hu, determined to spot anything out of the ordinary.

But after watching and watching, they found nothing abnormal besides the fact that he was clearly dreaming. Brother Long and Leopard Brother eventually couldn’t stay awake any longer. One leaned against a sofa while the other sat at a table, and both started to nod off.

The living room grew even quieter. Many of them had started to think Chen Jiao’s words were just empty threats. After all, wasn’t Brother Hu fine? Could having *this* kind of dream even be considered a problem? With that, even more of them dozed off.

Only Old Cai didn’t dare to relax in the slightest. Considering what he’d seen happen to Ye Rong and the others, he didn’t believe for a second that Chen Jiao would let Brother Hu off so easily.

Sure enough, as time ticked away to three in the morning, even the most resilient night owls couldn’t fight off sleep. It was the drowsiest hour, and Old Cai was only staying conscious thanks to strong tea.

Just as he began to pour his fourth cup of tea, Brother Hu’s expression started to change. The initial look of blissful, lewd satisfaction vanished completely, replaced by pure terror.

“AHH!” Brother Hu screamed and shot bolt upright on the sofa. His eyes were filled with un-faded terror, a cold sweat had soaked his back, and he sat there gasping for breath.

“What’s wrong? What happened?”

“Brother Hu’s awake? Having those kinds of dreams all night, you sure have some luck with the ladies… Heh heh…”

In the past, Brother Hu would have just laughed off such teasing, even taking it as a compliment or a badge of honor. But now, he swallowed hard, his face ashen. He was clearly terrified.

Brother Long’s drowsiness vanished instantly. He could see something was wrong with Brother Hu. “What happened?”

Leopard Brother handed Brother Hu a cup of hot tea. “Here, drink this. It’ll calm your nerves.”

Brother Hu clutched the cup, as if its warmth could dispel the chill in his heart. “It was just a dream.”

A Hall Master asked, “An erotic… dream?”

Brother Hu looked at everyone. “How did you know?”

Leopard Brother explained, “We were all watching you while you slept. We could tell by your expression. So what happened? It couldn’t have been just a dream to make you react like this, right?”

Thinking of the last thing he saw in his dream, Brother Hu couldn’t help but shiver. “The beautiful woman in my dream… she suddenly turned into a skeleton right in front of my eyes. Right as I was about to… finish.”

“Just like that?”

“That’s terrifying just thinking about it!”

“How is he ever going to sleep with a woman again?”

The listening crowd was utterly dumbfounded. If any of them had a dream like that, would they ever recover? They’d probably be psychologically scarred just from seeing a woman.

Brother Long looked at Old Cai. “This thing with Brother Hu, is it the effect of that pill?”

Old Cai was very cautious. “It’s hard to say. Let’s observe him for a few more days. If it happens frequently, then that’s most likely the case.”

As he spoke, Old Cai sighed. ‘If this really is the pill’s effect,’ he thought, ‘it would be perfect for those celebrities and wealthy businessmen. With something like this, they’d never have to worry about their partners cheating on them.’

‘Countless wealthy wives would be waving wads of cash, begging Chen Jiao for the drug.’

Brother Hu took a breath, irritated at the mere mention of Chen Jiao’s name. He placed his cup on the coffee table. “I’m going to sleep some more. It must have just been a coincidence.”

Tan You, hidden in mid-air, watched the drama unfold. ‘So stubborn,’ she thought. ‘That’s fine. I specialize in curing stubbornness. What kind of dream should I weave for him next? The “beauty to skeleton” trick is just the beginning. How about I treat him to the complete illustrated guide to the Undead I once saw?’

‘It’s my personal, carefully curated collection of the Undead in all their various stages and transformations. I guarantee there’s a model in there he’ll just love. Just imagine, rotting flesh clinging to the bone, those deep, black, empty eye sockets…’

Just thinking about it gave Tan You a thrill. ‘Being the villain is so damn satisfying. No wonder there are so many gangs in G City.’
