Chapter 230 -226: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Wife 37
The sea breeze swept past her ears, blowing Ji Xiaosong’s hair into a gentle arc.
Dai Lixing gazed at her profile, dyed a golden-pink by the twilight glow, and his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly.
Ji Sui’an’s laughter spilled from the communicator like falling stardust. As if possessed, Dai Lixing took her hand, the pad of his thumb stroking her wrist.
“Alright. I’ll listen to you. We’ll do it here.”
He pulled Ji Xiaosong into his arms and continued, “Song Song, since we’ve decided on the seaside, I’ve been thinking the ceremony should blend in with this beautiful scenery.”
Dai Lixing stretched out a hand, pointing to the glittering surface of the ocean not far away, his eyes full of longing. “We can build a transparent, floating crystal stage on the water. When we’re standing on it, the azure sea will be beneath our feet, the brilliant starry sky above our heads, and the sound of the surrounding waves will be the accompaniment to our vows.”
As he spoke, his fingers gently traced the outline of the stage in the air, his movements soft and full of anticipation.
The corners of Ji Xiaosong’s mouth lifted into a faint smile, her gaze following Dai Lixing’s fingers.
Seeing this, Dai Lixing’s heart stirred. He went on, “Around the stage, we can use interstellar energy beams to create dreamlike arches. When we walk through them hand in hand, the arches will bloom with multicolored light, like the brilliant colors of our future life together.”
He paused briefly, then turned to look at Ji Xiaosong, his eyes filled with a questioning and hopeful gaze. “What do you think, Song Song?”
Ji Xiaosong nodded softly. “It sounds beautiful.”
Receiving her affirmative reply, a trace of joy flashed in Dai Lixing’s eyes. He continued, “For the guests’ seats, I’m thinking we could use special interstellar levitating bubbles. The bubbles would be filled with scented interstellar gas, so when the guests sit down, it would feel as if they were floating on a dreamlike cloud.”
He then looked toward the beach and, after a moment of thought, said, “On the beach, we’ll use luminous sand mined from interstellar veins to create a path leading to the stage. The grains of sand will sparkle with our every step, guiding us to each other.”
As he spoke, he subconsciously took Ji Xiaosong’s hand, his fingers gently clasping hers.
Just then, Ji Sui’an’s laughter came from the communicator again, crisp as a silver bell and echoing in the sea breeze.
Dai Lixing and Ji Xiaosong looked at each other and smiled. Dai Lixing gently squeezed Ji Xiaosong’s hand and said, “On our wedding day, Sui An will definitely be happy for us too.”
“Yes, he’ll witness our happiness.”

As the morning glories at the corner of the wooden cabin’s eaves climbed the bamboo fence, stretching toward the vegetable garden, Ji Dan was gently patting Ji Sui’an in his cradle with the constant-temperature sensor on its mechanical fingertip.
Purple eggplants swayed their plump bodies in the twilight, and fuzzy pumpkin vines poked their heads through gaps in the fence. The All-Purpose Robot hummed a nursery rhyme stored in its data core as it flipped over the floral-patterned diapers drying on a bamboo pole.
“Was Sui An a good boy today?”
Ji Xiaosong asked as she and Dai Lixing stepped into their home.
The twilight glow that had spread over the seaside reefs seemed to follow them home. Dai Lixing’s shoulders were tinged with the salty sea breeze, and a piece of a seashell was still tangled in the ends of Ji Xiaosong’s hair.
The moment the wooden door creaked open, the reed wind chime hanging over the cradle began to sing.
A joyful sound, tinged with a synthetic buzz, flowed from the synthesizer in Ji Dan’s chest. “Sui An was a very good baby. I just finished counting the seventeenth dandelion with him.”
“Our little baby is so clever.”
Dai Lixing walked over to the cradle with a smile and gently stroked Ji Sui’an’s tiny hand, his eyes filled with loving affection.
“Isn’t he? He gives us a new surprise every day.”
Ji Xiaosong leaned in as well, gazing at the child with a happy curve to her lips.
The scent of fresh wheat wafted from the kitchen. The robot had used grains harvested that morning to mill flour and was now adding firewood to the stove for the evening meal.
Dai Lixing crouched by the vegetable patch, plucking tender spinach tips. Dewdrops rolled from the leaf veins onto his wrist, like a galaxy of stars that had suddenly gained weight.
“Li Xing, the spinach tonight is sure to be especially fresh,” Ji Xiaosong said, leaning down to look at the spinach in Dai Lixing’s hands.
Dai Lixing looked up, a smile in his eyes. “Of course. Just you wait, I’ll show you and Sui An what I can do.”
Ji Xiaosong had taught him how to cook before, and after much practice, he was finally seeing results.
As Ji Xiaosong leaned over, a hibiscus petal fell from her collar into the cradle. Ji Sui’an giggled, clutching the petal, startling a blue-winged butterfly that was peeking at the twilight from the window lattice.
“Look how much Sui An likes this petal.”
Ji Xiaosong pointed to the petal in the baby’s hand, her face beaming with a gentle smile.
Dai Lixing laughed along. “Our Sui An is definitely going to be a little guy who loves beautiful things.”
The twilight deepened into the color of purple grape juice. Ji Dan held the baby up with its mechanical arm to watch the sunset clouds, its metal joints, filled with the evening glow, seeming even softer than the woven rattan cradle.
On the wooden table sat celadon bowls. Cold-tossed purslane was drizzled with sesame oil, and pumpkin porridge bubbled GURGLE GURGLE in a coarse pottery pot. The display on the robot’s chest pulsed with an orange-yellow light, looking just like a mother from the past keeping watch by the stove.
When the moonlight soaked the baby’s swaddling clothes drying on the bamboo fence, Ji Dan would switch to nightingale mode.
As its mechanical fingers swiped across an e-storybook, dew dripped down a loofah vine. Dai Lixing transformed the floating stage he had designed during the day into a crystal castle for a bedtime story.
Ji Xiaosong leaned against an old pearwood cabinet, watching the moonlight wander across the robot’s silver-white shell. ‘Those cold, hard alloys,’ she suddenly thought, ‘seem to understand tenderness even better than a spring dandelion.’
“Song Song, when Sui An grows up, what kind of child do you think he’ll be?”
Dai Lixing asked, looking at Ji Sui’an in the cradle, his eyes full of anticipation for the future.
Ji Xiaosong tilted her head slightly, her gentle gaze falling upon Ji Sui’an. Moonlight filtered through the window lattice, spilling onto the baby’s face and outlining his adorable features.
“I think… when Sui An grows up, he’ll definitely be a kind child.”
Her voice was as soft as the moonlight, laced with wisps of hope. “Just like this moonlight, silently blanketing the earth, draping a gentle veil over all things. He’ll use his kindness to bring warmth to everyone around him.”
Dai Lixing gently took Ji Xiaosong’s hand, his thumb slowly caressing the back of it, as if drawing strength or conveying his love.
“Yes, kindness is the most precious quality.”
He lifted his gaze to the vegetable garden swaying gently in the moonlight outside the window. “I hope he has a resilient heart, like the vegetables in the garden that stand tall through wind and rain. No matter what difficulties he faces in the future, I hope he can grit his teeth and persevere, and never be easily defeated.”
Just then, a light breeze blew past, and morning glory petals drifted down from the bamboo fence like so many pink butterflies.
Ji Xiaosong watched the petals, a faint smile on her lips. “And, I hope Sui An will have a heart that loves life. Look at the flowers, plants, and vegetables in this garden—they each grow on their own, beautiful in their own way, every moment filled with vitality. I hope that one day, Sui An can be like them, feeling all the little beautiful things in life with all his heart, whether it’s the first ray of sunlight in the morning or the twinkling Fenxing at night.”
Dai Lixing pulled Ji Xiaosong a little closer, letting her lean against his shoulder as they gazed at Ji Sui’an in the cradle together.
“I also hope he’ll have great ambitions, that in this vast interstellar expanse, under my wing, he can carve out a world of his own.”
His voice was deep and powerful, filled with a certainty about the future. “No matter where he goes, our home will always be his warm harbor.”
Ji Xiaosong nodded softly. Her hair fluttered in the gentle breeze, brushing against Dai Lixing’s cheek—a ticklish but infinitely tender sensation.
“Yes. No matter what kind of person Sui An becomes, we’ll always be by his side, supporting him.”
Their voices intertwined in the quiet night, like a soft lullaby accompanying Ji Sui’an into a sweet dreamland.
And on the wooden table, the celadon bowls glimmered with a faint luster in the moonlight, as if they, too, were quietly listening to the parents’ boundless love and hopes for their child.
The days passed by at a leisurely pace, and the wedding Ji Xiaosong and Dai Lixing had been preparing for arrived as planned.
