Chapter 204: Chapter 200: Interstellar Deserted Star Farm Woman 11
The oceans of Wa Star were different from those of Blue Star. Here, the ocean covered about 50% of the planet’s surface.
Ji Xiaosong arrived at the center of the ocean and casually scanned the area with her Divine Sense, discovering a plethora of edible sea creatures.
In her eyes, everything was edible. The only difference was whether it looked good or not.
"Today, we’ll have steamed crab and prawns. As for the fish, I’ll make it into fish with pickled greens."
She wove a fishing net from her Spiritual Power and hauled up string after string of various seafood.
Rongrong looked at the hundreds of pounds of seafood before them and couldn’t help but exclaim, "This seafood is so much bigger than what we saw back on Blue Star."
"Of course. There’s no human fishing here. After so many years, they’ve naturally grown to be massive."
After using her Spiritual Power to remove any toxins from the seafood, Ji Xiaosong tossed the scales, shells, and innards back into the sea.
The other creatures in the sea, smelling the scent, were already leaping up. Big fish ate small fish, and small fish ate shrimp; the food chain was complete, and Ji Xiaosong was happy to have an easy cleanup.
When she returned with the prepared seafood, Dai Lixing was lounging on a large branch of the apple tree, eating an apple.
One after another. Who knows how many apple cores were already scattered beneath the tree.
"We’re having seafood for lunch. I’ve already prepped it, so we can eat in half an hour. Go bury those apple cores in the soil for fertilizer. Don’t let them go to waste."
With that, she went straight into the kitchen.
The fishy smell on her was a bit strong; Ji Xiaosong had to use the Cleaning Technique several times.
As usual, she used a Spell to prepare all the ingredients. By the time she brought them out, the first dish was still piping hot.
"Time to eat!"
As Dai Lixing flipped down from the apple tree, the aroma wafting from the kitchen made his stomach rumble loudly.
He strode into the bamboo house but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the octagonal table laden with blue-and-white porcelain plates.
The shells of the steamed crab glowed with an amber sheen. The golden broth of the scallops steamed with garlic and vermicelli was still bubbling gently. Sliced scallions, like flecks of jade, floated in the red chili oil of the fish with pickled greens. And that didn’t even cover the platter of braised prawns, piled high like a small mountain, each one as long as a forearm.
"Today’s lunch is as lavish as ever!"
Dai Lixing’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing his wrist.
"Eating with you feels like having a feast every day."
Ji Xiaosong suddenly felt a change in her Star Coin savings account. "Dai Lixing has transferred 100,000 Star Coins to you."
Seeing the transfer notification, she grinned.
"One hundred thousand for a single meal. Since you’re so generous, I’ll have to make sure you eat your fill."
She picked up a piece of crab meat with her bamboo chopsticks and placed it in Dai Lixing’s bowl. "Try it."
The words had barely left her lips when Dai Lixing’s chopsticks blurred across the table. In the blink of an eye, three crab legs were in his bowl.
By the time Ji Xiaosong had methodically finished picking the meat from her third crab claw, Dai Lixing had already polished off the entire plate of fish with pickled greens, not leaving a single drop of soup.
"You certainly don’t stand on ceremony when you eat."
Even though she saw it every meal, Ji Xiaosong couldn’t help but marvel at Dai Lixing’s massive appetite.
"With you, I don’t have to put on an act. I just do whatever’s comfortable. There’s no need to be so particular. I know you don’t mind."
After saying this, Dai Lixing himself was stunned.
He wasn’t such a casual person. Because of his past, he was on guard with almost everyone.
After all, for him, his life was something he carried in his hands at all times; the slightest carelessness could mean it was gone.
But in front of Ji Xiaosong, it seemed he could let down all his pretenses and defenses.
Dai Lixing stared at the crab roe in his bowl, the tip of his chopsticks scraping faintly against the porcelain rim.
He suddenly realized what he had just said. He swallowed the briny-sweet morsel, a buzzing in his ears.
"So, it turns out I’m someone you feel so at ease with. But what are you so nervous about?"
Ji Xiaosong watched him, her cheek resting on her hand, a silver spoon twirling between her fingers.
"Just listen. Your heartbeat is so loud I can barely hear myself speak."
The crisp clink of the spoon against the bowl made Dai Lixing flinch, and brown soup splattered on his cuff.
He hurriedly pulled out a napkin to wipe it, but Ji Xiaosong grabbed his wrist.
The warmth of the girl’s palm spread through his shirt sleeve, carrying the salty aroma of crab roe.
"I... I’ll go get an apron."
Dai Lixing shot up, the back of his chair scraping harshly against the floor.
The mirror reflected the tips of his reddening ears. ’I must be going crazy,’ he suddenly realized.
’She’s someone I’ve only known for two days, yet my heart is already stirring for her.’
Ji Xiaosong’s laughter drifted from the dining room. "Honestly, what’s there to be nervous about?"
After the meal, Ji Xiaosong resumed her usual routine, cultivating her spiritual power under the grapevine-covered gazebo in the yard.
She had already completely mastered First Rank spiritual power. After practicing it a few times, it no longer posed any difficulty.
"Dai Lixing, can you teach me the Second Order method for cultivating spiritual power?"
Dai Lixing leaned against the trunk of the apple tree, his fingertips unconsciously tracing the scars on the bark.
He stared at Ji Xiaosong, who was pruning the grapevines. Sunlight danced on her shoulders through the tender new leaves, like scattered gold dust.
When the girl suddenly turned and asked about the Second Order technique, he nearly choked on his own saliva.
"COUGH... Teach you the Second Order now?"
He straightened up abruptly, a little nervous.
"Is it that difficult?"
Ji Xiaosong tilted her head at him. A vine wrapped around her fingertip suddenly bloomed with a bluish-purple flower, its petals still dotted with dew.
Dai Lixing’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He suddenly grabbed her wrist and led her deeper into the orchard.
"The Second Order requires projecting your spiritual power outward, which you can already do. I’ll demonstrate. You can start by watching my energy flow."
Ji Xiaosong watched intently as countless threads of blue light surged from Dai Lixing’s hands, weaving a complex energy matrix in the air.
The threads of light suddenly split into millions of fine streams, precisely piercing the veins of every grapevine leaf twenty meters away.
"Memorize this frequency."
Dai Lixing’s voice was raspy. He could clearly feel the girl’s burning gaze fixed on him.
"Now, try to envelop my energy source with your spiritual power."
When Ji Xiaosong’s spiritual power wrapped around it like silk, Dai Lixing’s temples throbbed.
"That’s not right."
He suddenly grabbed Ji Xiaosong’s outstretched hand and pressed it to his chest.
"You need to... penetrate it... like this."
Ji Xiaosong’s eyelashes cast fan-shaped shadows beneath her eyes. She could smell the scent of cedar mixed with rust on Dai Lixing.
As their spiritual powers merged within the energy matrix, she suddenly let out a soft laugh. "Dai Lixing, do you have a crush on me?"
The tips of Dai Lixing’s ears instantly turned beet red. He stumbled back two steps, snapping a branch as thick as a bowl.
Under Ji Xiaosong’s astonished gaze, he pulled five differently colored Energy Crystals from his tactical pouch and handed them to her.
"The Core Techniques for the Second to Fifth Ranks are all engraved in these crystals. Figure it out yourself."
