Chancellor Vastraea blinked at me.

I maintained my small smile while looking at her.

Vastraea rubbed her face slowly before looking at me again, "I’m sorry... But... I think I misheard some things... Could you repeat that again?"

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... I... Well... Got my Umbramancy, Lumenmancy, Pyromancy, Hydromancy, Aeromancy, Geomancy and Electromancy to the next proficiency tier yesterday... And I came up with an original spell that I created utilising all of these elements..."

I didn’t really see a need to tell her about the rest since I believe this piece of news would already be big enough for her to deal with.

She really looked like she was having an existential crisis right now...

"Right... Right, right... Of course... Increasing the proficiency of seven different skills in a single day... No wait... If I think about it... It’s really because Aster is able to use a spell that consists of multiple different elements together... Yes... And she’s favoured by the Gods... She’s an Apostle... Of course, of course... Yes, that makes so much more sense now."

Huh... She actually managed to reason herself back to her senses...

She raised her head to smile at me, "Right... I’m ok now. So... Ahem... That’s wonderful news, Aster. I’m so glad you managed to break through to the next level of proficiency!"

I couldn’t help but smile at her, "Thanks."

"Although it’s a little embarrassing for me to admit... But now you’ve gotten me curious over this spell that you’ve created. Could I take a look at it?"

I looked around the room and gave her a wry smile, "I would recommend we not do that in such an enclosed space..."

"Ah, of course."

She stretched out her hands and the room shifted itself with the books and furniture disappearing into the walls and floor before the space expanded itself into an empty white room.

The Chancellor stood a little behind me, waiting to see what I would do with her eyes shining in anticipation.

I guess despite who she was, she’s still a magician first and anything related to magic would certainly be of interest to her.

I raised up my hand and pointed my palm towards the far end of the space before I cast my magic, [Big Bang].

The air core formed first, then the fire, water, lightning and earth to surround it before it compressed itself down to the size of a marble.

It then shot forward at an incredible speed before a flash of brilliant light engulfed that area, erasing all sound from around us for a moment.

Then the sound of the explosion filled the air and a shockwave blasted out from the epicentre, reaching all the way towards us and billowing our hair and robes.

I waited until the dust died down before turning towards Vastraea again, "So... How was it?"

I was afraid that she might be too shocked to react but she seemed to have sunk into analysis mode.

"I saw air, fire, water, lightning and earth magic... I see... So that’s how it works... The air feeds the fire... The water contains the lightning, the earth compresses and holds everything together until it is ready to ignite... And when it does... The explosion is catastrophic."

She then lifted up her hand and a ball of air appeared in her palm before fire wrapped around it.

Woah, is she trying to reproduce my spell? And only after seeing it once? I guess she’s not the Grand Chancellor of Aerialla Academy for nothing. This is going to be so cool~

I can’t wait to see if she would find an even better way to improve the spell, since she’s still a mage that was more proficient and experienced in magic than I am, after all~

Hmm? Worried about her stealing my spell?

Come on, spells are created to be used right? And this is a school after all, we’re all here to learn! What’s more, she’s also supposed to be my teacher so if she can teach me how to further improve the spell, then I see this as an absolute win!

Well... Obviously it’s because she’s a good teacher that I’m happy to see this. Otherwise I won’t be.

I watched with bated breath as she wrapped the fire with water and electrified the water.

But right as she was surrounding the ball with earth that she summoned, the ball spiraled out of control and flew up into the air before exploding.

Luckily, she did not put in her full power into that spell yet so the explosion only hit us with a small shockwave instead of the full power of the blast.

I blinked at the sight of the explosion slowly settling down before turning to look at the Chancellor.

She frowned and looked down at her own hands, "How interesting... I see... So you have to maintain the elements at all times just to control it... As expected of you, Aster... I’m afraid my limit... Or at least my current limit... Does not allow me to successfully cast this spell. I might need some practice before I am able to try."

She attempted to cast the spell again, creating the air, fire, water and lightning successfully before trying to envelop it with earth.

But the moment the pieces of earth appeared was also when she lost control over it and it spiralled out of her hand to explode a distance away from her.

She flexed her fingers for a moment before shaking her head, "As expected of you, Aster. This is remarkable. Absolutely remarkable. I am glad I am here to witness this. But... Hmmm... You said you also increased your proficiency with Umbramancy and Lumenmancy as well, didn’t you? I did not see you use either of those elements in this spell?"

I wasn’t surprised that she managed to figure that out, since she already figured out how [Big Bang] worked anyway.

Thus, I went ahead to lift my palm up again to show her what [Big Bang Vortex] looked like.

The spell fired from my palm and when it reached the impact zone, the air around was sucked in forcefully before exploding violently.

I turned back to see what Vastraea thought about it and she seemed to be deep in though after witnessing what my spell could do.

"Interesting... Very interesting... If that spell had gone off in the Academy... It would probably have destroyed at least half of the main island..."

Eh? That big?

I mean... I’ve been testing it in empty spaces all this while so I didn’t really have an accurate gauge of how destructive it actually could be... But I didn’t really think it would be that destructive?

Or... I guess she was factoring in the suction as well where it would probably tear up the ground to suck inside the vortex before exploding.

She continued, "The spell uses the darkness and light elements to create a vacuum that would create that vortex... That certainly is interesting. I wonder... What would happen if you were to switch the configuration of the spell? Instead of putting the two opposing spells outside... You put it inside instead?"

Oh, I didn’t even think of that.

I mean... I thought the [Big Bang] spell was already my base so everything that comes after had to be layered on top of it instead to work.

So... What if I put it inside the ball of spells before I use the earth to compress them altogether?

I decided to try that out.

This time, instead of putting air first as the core of the spell, I created a ball of darkness and a ball of light which I then made them orbit each other before wrapping them up in air. From there it was the same order where I wrapped fire around the air which was then followed by water, lightning and lastly earth that I used to wrap and compress everything together tightly.

With everything ready, I shot it far away from us, both Vastraea and I just watching the marble sized ball shooting off into the distance and disappearing as a speck.

We only needed to wait for a moment before a huge force suddenly pulled us towards the impact zone of the spell.

I instinctively reached out to grab Vastraea while I anchored myself by digging my heels into the ground but it seemed like my concern was unnecessary since Vastraea also managed to stop herself from being sucked in.

Then... There was a flash of light.

I felt the entire space shake and the next thing I knew, I was seated back inside Vastraea’s study room.

Vastraea was also back in her own seat, looking a little dazed but still fine.

"What... What happened?" I asked.

Vastraea shuddered visibly, "Aster... That spell of yours... Completely destroyed that space we were in... If that had been unleashed here... I think all the islands around here would have been disintegrated..."

Eh? It was that strong?

Hmm... I guess I have another trump card under my sleeve now.

Let’s call this one... [Biggest Bang].
