Chapter 1538: Just Break My Way Through

First thing I figured out here was why these monsters react to noise that violently.

Apparently they are just really sensitive to sound so any noise would basically be torture for them.

Since that was the case, you can expect what I did next.

"You are good enoughhhh~ You are good enouuuughhhh~"

Leading the way in front of me were three of those radar headed creatures currently tied up with ropes that I got out of my Bangle of Folding, all of them writhing and shaking in pain as I sang behind them.

Well, it’s all just motivation for them to get me to the exit faster or else my torment of them would last even longer.

Hm? They’re blind? Well they don’t seem to have a problem navigating through this floor so they must already know where everything was without needing to see, so that’s not an excuse.

On that note, it seems like there’s a lot more entities than I thought, which I wasn’t sure if it was only limited to this floor or there were more on the other floors but I just never encountered them.

And because of that, I had to store my egg away because two more of those radar heads were rushing towards me because they heard my singing.

I moved the end of the rope to my tail, curling my tail around it to make sure those three entities I tied up didn’t try to run away while I continued humming the song to myself.

The two new creatures ran up to me and I watched as they both tried to slash at me with their arms at the same time, only for me to grab their wrists and stop their attacks in their tracks.

I then went ahead to pull them down to cause them to stumble forward, putting their heads within reach so that I could grab onto the satellite dishes that were their heads.

With a heave, I smashed them both into the ground, cracking the floor tiles from the impact.

I then jumped up and landed on their backs, both of my heels driving into them to smash them further into the ground with a thunderous crash.

I held that position for a moment, making sure that both of them were down for the count before I continued humming the song to start tying them up with more ropes I materialised from my Bangle of Folding.

In that time, the three entities that I had tied up still remained where they were, not even daring to try and run away.

Which was smart of them because the first two times they tried got them beaten again while I sang at quite a loud volume to torture them.

They quickly learned that only by cooperating would their torment be kept at a low level, otherwise... Well... Let’s just say they wouldn’t be having a good time.

With the two new entities tied up, I went ahead to start kicking them in their sides.

"Come on. Get up now. You’re going to help me find the exit since you so generously volunteered to follow us~"

One of them reached out to try and grab me so I smacked its hand away before punching it in its face.

Part of the satellite dish cracked and broke apart and I think I heard a groan coming from it despite the fact that it didn’t have a mouth.

I then turned to the other one with my fist raised, "You got a problem too?"

The entity shook its head, which was funny to see since it was literally just a radar dish shaking left and right.

I then gave it a kick, "Then get up and join the group. You guys are leading me out of here. The longer you take, the more you suffer~"

The five of them led me through the corridors of the library while I still continued my singing, my voice loud enough to clearly cause them discomfort but not loud enough that they would be unable to move.

Along the way, I got attacked by six more of them which I beat up as well and added to my ever growing group.

The entire crowd of them continued to guide me forward, my singing behind them causing them to flinch every time I raised my voice louder than normal.

Of course, I had fun tormenting all of them, making each of them suffer for even trying to attack me to begin with.

And because I’ve already decided that I was in speedrun mode, I gave them kicks from behind when they weren’t leading me fast enough to encourage them to move faster.

They took me up to the third floor of this library area and we walked in between several bookshelves until we reached a particular section where several of said bookshelves were arranged to be standing flush against the wall.

I immediately noticed that one particular bookshelf had a different design compared to the others.

While the other bookshelves had a design where they were open on both sides to allow people to grab books displayed on either side of the shelf, there was one particular bookshelf against the wall that had a panel behind it that was facing against the wall.

The entities stopped right beside that bookshelf which I believe meant that this was the way out of this floor.

I paused my signing to inspect the bookshelf in particular, finding that amongst the rows of books, there were four particular slots that had been left empty.

Hmm... Going by my understanding... I bet that you were supposed to figure out what books should be in those slots and search throughout the rest of the library to find those four books while avoiding these entities that were supposed to hunt you down.

Even though I didn’t need to worry about these creatures attacking me since I could just beat them up... I don’t particularly feel like going to search for the missing books.

This place had more than several floors full of bookshelves that were all filled with books after all. I can see why a normal person might take days, weeks or even months just to clear a particular floor.

Anyway... Yeah, I’m not doing this the normal way.

I let go of the rope to grab the edge of the bookshelf before buffing myself with [Strength].

With a heave, I tore the entire bookshelf away from the wall, ripping it off to reveal a hidden passage behind said bookshelf.

The passage led a few feet in before it stopped at what looked like another elevator, which meant that this was indeed the way out.

I went ahead to take back my ropes I used to tie all these entities up before making a shooing motion at them.

"Go on, get lost. Before I decide to beat you up again."

They didn’t need to be told twice as they quite literally sprinted away from me, leaving me to walk down the passage towards the elevator doors on my own.

The doors opened automatically, allowing me to step inside before the lift started to move.

I couldn’t help but think back on how ironic it was that Grant would be here with me if he didn’t panic like he did when he saw what I could do.

Oh well... I’m not responsible for his personal safety to begin with anyway so... Too bad for him.

The lift moved for a short while before it opened its doors again, revealing darkness in front of me.

As soon as I stepped out, the place in front of me lit up to reveal a rather interesting sight.

In front of me was what looked like those children’s indoor playgrounds. More specifically the indoor jungle gym with the swings, slides, ball pits and more.

There was a ramp leading into it and I’m sure I was supposed to work my way through it and find the location of the exit through this.

But once again, I was in speedrun mode so I had no interest in going through the normal route here.

I simply strode forwards and braced myself before buffing my fist and punching forward, smashing my fist straight into the centre of the jungle gym.

There was a moment where the sound disappeared before there was an explosion akin to a thunderclap.

A big chunk of the jungle gym was blown apart, revealing a large, seemingly endless hall behind where the rest of the jungle gym continued, revealing itself to be a gigantic maze by itself.

I peered inside the hall to look around before I jumped inside, spreading my wings to start flying for the first time in a while. At the far end, I could already see the lift to the next floor so I just angled myself towards the lift, ignoring everything on this floor entirely.

I don’t even know whether there were any monsters on this floor but... Considering what kind of floor this place was, I’m going to assume that there were definitely entities patrolling the jungle gym below me.

Welp... None of my business anyway since I just got to the lift and I can move on to the next level~
