What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?
Chapter 240: Little Sister Takes A Try At Guessing
I took my little sister to visit the penthouse on the top floor and her reaction was as I expected.
"Waahhhh!!! Gor Gor!! You live here now? So big sia!! Even bigger than our house leh!!"
I stepped inside after her, "Yeah... I didn’t think they would make it this big for me to be honest..."
"Wahhh!! You can see the city from here!!" She squealed, pressing her face up against the window in the living room.
I stood beside her, looking out the window as well and staring at the mainland that was just across the stretch of sea in between us.
"It’s beautiful..." My sister whispered, pressing her hand against the glass.
"What? Our city?"
"Ya lor... I never see our city from this angle before."
"That’s because there has never been a tower built here. Duh."
She turned to roll her eyes at me, "That wasn’t what I was talking about lah..."
I patted her head, "Yes, yes. I get it. We haven’t really had a chance to see our city from this point of view, have we? Most of the time we are simply living amongst the people on the ground."
She nodded her head, "This... This is why you want to protect it, right?"
"Well... More like I have people I care about living in it which is why I want to protect it, really. This is home, truly."
My sister let out a groan, "Wah lau eh... You did not just do that."
I smirked at her, fully knowing that I just snuck in the lyrics to one of our most iconic national day theme songs in my last comment.
I gestured to the rest of the room, indicating that I would show her the rest of it.
I showed her the ground floor including the kitchen and indoor garden before bringing her to show her the second floor with the guest rooms and meditation room, and finally the third floor where my bedroom was.
She puffed up her cheeks at me at the end of the tour, "Let me stay here too!"
I shrugged, "Sure."
She blinked, clearly not expecting me to accept that so easily.
"Wait, really?"
I shrugged again, "As long as you clean up after yourself and don’t make a mess, sure. I already think this place is too big for just one person to live in so having you here would be a good thing for me too."
"Yayyyy!! I get to stay with Gor Gor!!"
"You make it sound like I’ve been actively trying to stop you from staying with me or something..."
"You moved out!!"
"For work..."
"You could just stay at home and come here for work!"
"I’m not gonna wake up early everyday and take a boat here just to do the same thing to go back home..."
"Do you even do any work here?!"
"Yes? Who do you think has to approve the projects and stuff being done here?" I half lied.
I technically didn’t need to do any of that since Olivia and the Bunarfs handle everything related to that and I was the one who insisted that I be included...
Of course, there was no need for my sister to know that.
She pouted more at me before suddenly narrowing her eyes, "What God are you supposed to be?"
I shrugged, "I still don’t know yet. I’ve given Mom a few clues about what I know but even she doesn’t know."
She crossed her arms, "And does part of it include the ability to create a door to teleport to?"
I sucked in a deep breath and let out a sigh, "Yes, yes... That teleportation ability is from me..."
She came up and started hitting me with her fist, not hard enough to hurt of course but more of just a teasing hit, not that she could hurt me anyway...
"You!! You bluff us! You said that teleportation thingie was someone else!! You liar!"
I patted her head, "You know I couldn’t just tell you guys that I gained that ability too... Otherwise people would definitely figure out that the Mortal God is me since it’s been recorded that my ability doesn’t include creating teleportation doors."
"You can trust your family! We wouldn’t tell!"
"Yeah, but I don’t trust my enemies who might try to use my family against me. It would be worse if you guys actually know about it and they try to torture the information out of you."
She pouted even more at me but did not argue that point since she knew it was true.
She then huffed and tried to change the topic again, "So what’s the clues about this god? Maybe I know who it is."
"Our mom doesn’t even know and you think you would know?"
"Just try lah! Shut up and tell me!"
I rolled my eyes, "Fine, fine... The first thing I awakened was that I had this jade book that can record down my followers as well as powerful beings I’ve killed and allow me to use their powers. The next thing is that I have this purple Qi aura that can buff my allies. Then there’s this soul space of mine that has this purple mansion and some other stuff growing inside there. Also, it seems like I have some kind of teacher aura or something which allows me to teach people anything they might want."
She pulled out her phone and started typing on the screen quickly, no doubt putting in what I just said into a search to try and let the internet figure it out for her.
It took her a moment as she searched through the internet before she looked up at me, "Taishang Laojun?"
I shook my head, "Mom guessed him before, it wasn’t him."
"How you even know if it’s correct or not? What if correct leh? But then you just don’t know it’s correct?"
"I’m pretty sure that the moment a Mortal God figures out who they were personifying as, they would immediately undergo an awakening. So yeah..."
She clucked her teeth in annoyance before going back to tap on her phone again, scrolling through the list to search for a possible answer.
She gave a few more names which included Ji Gong, Donghua Dijun, the other two of the three pure ones and even the Jade Emperor which were all not the answer.
She wrung her hands in annoyance, "Why you so special one? Why your god like some weird one that we never hear before?"
I shrugged, "Doesn’t that make me special? Why are you complaining that I’m special?"
She pouted, "That’s not what I meant... Ughh... What else could you be though?"
"We’ve at least narrowed it down to one of the Daoist gods at the very least..."
"Wah lau eh... You know how many there are or not? How to find?"
I raised an eyebrow and gave her a pointed look, "Why else do you think I haven’t found out yet? If it was so easy to figure it out, I’m pretty sure I would have found out by now."
She stuck her tongue out at me and said nothing.
I huffed at her, "Why are you so interested in finding out anyway?"
"Doesn’t finding out make you stronger, Gor Gor? I want Gor Gor to be stronger. Then you can just do whatever you want."
"Uh huh... Just saying... ’Whatever I want’ does not include letting you skip school and play around, ok?"
"Wahhhh!! Don’t like that leh! If my Gor Gor already a Mortal God, why I still need to study! Just take care of meeeee!" She cried, hugging my waist.
I gave her another flick on her forehead, "Mom already said that we shouldn’t just keep depending on other people to live, right? Have some self respect."
She covered her head and groaned, "Waaaaahhh... I douwaaaaaan... I want Gor Gor to take care of me forever! At least let me be your maid leh! I don’t even need to get a pay! Just let me stay here and eat can liao! I’ll even get stuck in the washing machine and ask you for help! Help me, Gor Gor~ I’m stuuuuck~"
I clenched my fists, intending to give her another head drilling before she suddenly gave me a peace sign and disappeared with a smirk before I could grab her.
This little... She really just sent a clone here with me just so she can annoy me and escape before I could punish her, huh?
Whatever... She already said she’s going to stay here so she’s going to have to come up here eventually so instead of a head drilling, I’ll just give her a good spanking when she comes up here later.
Anyway... I guess I should go and let my Guardians know that my sister will be staying with me from now on and give her clearance I guess.
Tsk... The things I do for her, she better be grateful...
