What Do You Mean I Have Nine Wives?
Chapter 173: Clark’s Decision
"How many soldiers do we still have left?"
Clark asked while holding the phone that Tyler had just delivered using his clone.
"Sir, no one! Every single soldier has been used to forcefully take away those people."
A soldier replied with a helpless tone.
"Sir, why are we taking away those arrogant guys? If they don’t listen, why don’t we just let them stay here?"
Clark could understand his resentment. Those families had become a parasite for the country under the influence of the prime minister.
Because of this, their lifestyle and their attitude towards serving the country weren’t exactly good.
The soldiers were right to resent these families.
"Soldier, do you think this is the end of our country?"
Clark asked.
The soldier stood there stunned. He quickly shook his head.
"No, sir!"
"Then, with the death of five hundred of our Masters, we have no choice but to rely on them in the future."
"I know you hate them, but their strength is still useful for the country. This will not be our end."
"Get the projector ready, connect it to every single broadcast television we have prepared. We are going to show them the truth."
Clark said with strong anger as he clenched his fist.
Soon, everything was prepared. The data was taken from the phone and connected to the television.
They had already connected these televisions to the hot-air balloons, broadcasting the information through the country this way.
The technology was a bit lacking thanks to their lack of effort for generations.
But they still had enough. So, they were quickly able to send the video of the Blood God with three Prime Ministers to the country.
Not just their country but also the country of White Mustang and Golden Horn.
The civilians and even cultivation families watched in horror as the prime ministers knelt to a guy and said those words.
"What the hell are you waiting for? Do you want me to devour you?"
"We’re extremely sorry for wasting your time, God! We will slaughter every human in three countries and prepare their blood for you."
At that moment, there was country-wide silence. Many couldn’t believe it, but the war had made them resent their leaders for a while.
So, they didn’t react immediately; instead, they started breaking down.
Many women who lost their husbands in the war started crying.
Even the soldiers who had supported Clark felt chills down their backs.
They never thought they were so close to death. If Clark wasn’t such a good general, they would’ve genuinely been used by Tiga for such a purpose.
After that video ended, Clark’s speech was played.
"Are you feeling sad? Do you think this is the time to feel sad? You have lost your family and friends, but you still have a country."
"You still have a home. You still have your life. Someone is fighting for you, and you are kneeling to the ground, crying over the dead."
"Stand up! You’ve been played. You have been used by your leaders. I don’t know the situation of the other two countries."
"But if you have someone strong enough, come to this country! We need to fight for our countries, fight for our people."
When he said that, his words resonated with the people of the three countries. Even though he came from one country, he managed to inspire all.
"Those who live in my country, get away from the capital! As far as you can. This war will take many more lives if you stay close."
"Our country has not ended. We must live to thrive."
His last words were the message to the people of his country. Many people who were listening to the broadcast started running.
"General, should we prepare for the attack?"
The soldier asked.
He hadn’t heard this order before, but in the video, the Blood God was clearly telling those PMs to attack the people of this country.
Since Clark had already seen this video before, why didn’t he make any preparations?
"Tell me, soldier, have you ever fought a losing war?"
Clark looked at his soldier and asked.
The soldier paused and shook his head. Their country had been fighting for ten years, but it wasn’t a losing war.
They had superior strength to the other two countries.
Clark nodded.
"Neither have I! Because we have already lost this war. Soldier, remember one thing!"
"When those cultivators chose to attack the enemy without protecting our land and people, we lost this war."
"Of course, the two countries also lost the war. But the final winner was that Blood God."
"Since we have lost this war, we can only pray he wins the upcoming battle."
Hearing that, the soldier confusedly looked at his general and asked.
"But then, why did you?"
"Invite them? It is not a battle. It is to prepare ourselves for the next battle. Either we die here, or we die fighting other countries."
"Regardless, if we want to survive, we can’t just rely on one person. If that man defeats that God, we will have to save our country ourselves."
"We have lost all of our strength. So, we can’t fight among each other. Even if we hate each other to the bones, we must cooperate."
"That’s the only way for us to survive. If they are not idiots, they will agree."
Hearing that, the soldier asked.
"What if they are?"
Clark bitterly smiled and said.
"Then, as the former general and future leader of this country, I will sell this country to that man."
The soldier’s heart broke when he heard that.
Looking at the general’s face, he realized just how lucky this country was to have such a general.
He understood that man would fight that God, but he wouldn’t save their country. At least, the soldier trusted his general more than Tyler.
Clark wasn’t lying when he said he planned to sell the country to Tyler if things went wrong.
He knew Tyler’s identity.
For a boy to achieve this level of strength in less than one year of his awakening and become the owner of a rising company, he was absolutely worth following.
But Clark wanted to save his country.
He wanted to keep it as it was. That’s why he would rather work with the enemies than give the ownership to Tyler.
He knew doing this would save his country, but there was one problem.
Tyler was a good person. Him willing to help their country by fighting proved that God proved his goodness.
But he had read too many historical facts to know that monarchy would never end well.
Of course, if those countries didn’t agree to merge into one country, he would bring his country under Tyler.
Even if it did bring chaos and struggle for the working class in the future, at least it would save the current people.
Somewhere near the border of the Purple Cloud Country;
There was an air balloon moving towards the capital of the country.
"Miss Daisy was right. There is chaos in this country. We must get a close-up of this Blood God and the talented young man Shiro."
The journalist shouted with excitement as he watched the other air balloons broadcast.
The cameraman this time was none other than Tango. His eyes allowed him to see into the far distance.
What he saw was more chaotic than he could describe.
Even with all of his courage, he wanted to change the route of the air balloon.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t the senior among the two.
"Josh, are we going to do this? Even General Clark is evacuating the capital. The impact of the battle could reach us if we go there."
"Are you really going to risk your life for a few spirit stones?"
Tango asked.
Josh looked at his cameraman with disdain and said.
"You don’t understand the spirit of a journalist, Tango. We must go there and record the entire battle."
"This will go down in the history books as one of the greatest feats of humanity, fighting against the gods with a mortal body."
"Our names will be written in those books even if we don’t participate in the war."
Tango rolled his eyes.
"You have to survive to write anything about this battle. If we go close, we might not even survive."
"If you just want information, I can use my eyes from here."
Hearing that, Josh shook his head.
"The first thing about journalism and news is to prepare proof of this battle. Tango, we must capture the battle between these two with our cameras."
"Besides, can you hear their voice? Will you know what they are talking about, what they are fighting about?"
"We know the Blood God wants to absorb the blood of humans, but what about that man? What is his purpose?"
"Is he pretending to be a hero or is he truly a hero of this country? We need to find out the truth. This is the job of a journalist."
As he said that, he drove the balloon towards the capital while Tango started shaking in fear.
The closer they went, the more he could see and the more disturbed he felt.
At this moment, Josh placed his hand on Tango’s shoulder and said.
"What are you?"
Tango instinctively replied.
"A cameraman!"
"Then, remember this, Cameraman!"
Josh proudly raised his hand, pointing his finger towards the capital as he said.
"Go ahead and record this fight! This is your job. Believe in yourself!"
"There is no one faster than a cameraman."
