Westminster Bank
Chapter 537 295: Golden Lion
He struggled to get up from the deep crater, but Elder Pence descended from the sky and pinned his chest with a foot.
"But I must thank you," Elder Pence said to Baron via Spiritual Power. "The lingering Pure-blood Ancient Dragon Aura from your Dragon Spear did a fine job of neutralizing the chaotic Soul Spirits within me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to fully adapt to Anthony's body."
Baron spat out a mouthful of blood. That seemingly ordinary punch from Elder Pence had nearly shattered most of the bones in his body.
He gasped for breath, his extinguished Dragon Flame causing white steam to rise from his body. Even though his Golden Eye still shone brightly, in the eyes of the crowd, it was nothing more than a flickering lamp about to go out.
Elder Pence viciously ground his foot into the wound on Baron's chest and transmitted via Spiritual Power, "You're quite impressive. I didn't expect that even Soron and Roy couldn't handle you... To think even the Dragon Witch willingly let you kill her."
Cold sweat poured down Baron's face from the pain, yet he still managed to ask, "The Dragon Witch... What does she have to do with your Dragon Eater Association?"
"Her relationship with us?" Elder Pence transmitted. "It seems you're not one of the Witch's retainers."
"But I won't tell you," he said. "You're just trying to stall for time, aren't you?"
After saying this, Elder Pence pierced Baron's chest with his Dragon Claw.
But then, his body froze.
The Baron before him had once again turned into a Paperman.
Everyone present turned to look at Lucy on Isabella's shoulder. She was the only one here who could use the Paperman Technique of an Eastern Daoist.
Paperman Lucy, seeming embarrassed, hid herself in a human-like way in the Eldest Daughter's hair. Only when the Eldest Daughter questioned her did she say blankly, "My Paperman Technique isn't that strong."
'Where's the Dragon Knight? Where did he go? Did he run away? Well, that would be normal. After all, Elder Pence is Silver Tier…'
Suddenly, someone pointed to the sky and shouted, "Look! There's a light in the sky!"
'It wasn't Lucy? Then who else can use the Paperman Technique?'
Isabella's elegant brows furrowed slightly, but before she could think it through, her gaze followed the crowd's, drawn upward by the sudden burst of light.
Flames—silver flames—gathered behind the Dragon Knight, forming into silver wings. Wielding the Golden Dragon Spear, the Dragon Knight descended from the heavens, just like an Angel delivering divine punishment to the earth!
Everyone was stunned. They never imagined that in this situation, the Dragon Knight would choose to attack rather than flee.
Howard was stunned, too. From the moment Baron launched his assault on Elder Pence until now, he had been in a state of utter confusion.
As the Vice President of Westminster Bank, what storms had he not weathered in his life? Just to name a few, he had dealt with the fallout from Jack blowing up the Statue of Liberty and being noticed by the CIA; Bismarck's surprise attack on the Kremlin and the subsequent pursuit by the KGB; and Caesar's nightly theft from Buckingham Palace, which triggered an alert from MI6. He had handled countless incidents of all sizes.
The forged Statue of Liberty still stands tall on the symbolic New York Island; the KGB's pursuit was suppressed through the mediation of the Moscow branch; and under his deliberate guidance, MI6 discovered a hidden Soviet spy within their ranks during their investigation, thereby shifting their original mission objective... It could be said there was nothing in the world that he, the Vice President of Westminster Bank, couldn't handle.
Yet now, facing Baron Constantin's hysterical madness, he actually had the illusory thought, 'Could my initial judgment have been wrong?'
The Golden Demon Hunter, Abraham, saw that Baron still had the audacity to charge an Elder Pence who had already revealed his Silver Tier strength. He let out a sneer and said to the young Demon Hunter beside him:
"It seems our Dragon Knight really is a fool."
A mere Bronze Tier Law Enforcer thinking he could kill a Silver Tier in a direct confrontation—in the Inner Side, such an act was no different from throwing an egg against a rock.
To commit such an irrational act could only mean the Dragon Knight's mind was clouded by anger and hatred. And people whose minds were clouded by anger and hatred, the Old Cowboy liked to call fools.
Sure enough, just as Abraham had said, the Dragon Knight's Golden Dragon Spear stopped an inch from Elder Pence and could get no closer. It was like two powerful magnets with the same poles, unable to touch no matter what.
Elder Pence looked up at the Dragon Knight, whose Dragon Flame had been extinguished, and said flatly, "It's useless. I told you before, none of your attacks will work on me a second time."
He let out a low shout.
[Promise: Lion's Roar]
Baron was violently thrown back.
Then, Elder Pence followed up and once again punched him into the ground, kicking up a plume of dust more than ten meters high.
When the dust settled, Elder Pence and the Law Enforcers present all froze.
The Dragon Knight... was standing unharmed amidst the dust, wearing sunglasses.
'Sunglasses?'
The expressions on the faces of the Law Enforcers were a bit odd.
"Achilles's sunglasses... I remember those were in the collection room..." Tune glanced at the Eldest Daughter, starting to speak but then stopping himself.
The Eldest Daughter put away the Red Spear she had just been about to throw and said flatly, "You're mistaken."
Tune: "..."
"Your Life Force is truly tenacious. It's gotten this far, can't you just lie down and die quietly?" Elder Pence said, looking at the Dragon Knight.
Baron took off the sunglasses—he had picked them up on a cliffside during his battle with the Dragon Witch. He had originally lent them to Jack for self-defense, but he never expected he'd have a chance to use them himself.
For once, he didn't reply to Elder Pence. Instead, he looked toward the Law Enforcers at the edge of the field, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and cursed with a grin, "What's wrong, you cowards? Why don't you all come and surround me now?"
